Olivia looked down the hallway when she heard the front door shut. "Hello?" She called feeding Zack.

"Hey Liv, it's DJ." DJ called as he walked down the hallway and into the kitchen where she was. He was holding Summer and Carmela in his arms when he walked in.

"Hey! I haven't seen you in a while." Olivia smiled lightly. "I was wondering how Elliot was surviving without his best friend.

DJ put the girls down before holding up his phone. "We text everyday." Olivia chuckled. "Is Elliot downstairs with Dickie and Kendle?" He watched as she nodded while looking around the kitchen. "What are you looking for?"

Olivia continued to look around on the counters. "My phone..." She trailed off as she looked in the fridge, remembering the few times she left it in there when she wanted a snack.

"Uh, Liv?" DJ chuckled getting her attention. He pointed to her hip. She looked down to find her phone clipped to her belt. "Stressful day?"

"A little." Olivia smiled and put a hand over her phone. "So, how was your day?"

DJ nodded once before looking at the girls in the living room. "It was interesting." He looked at Olivia. "Apparently, Kathy has been telling Carmela that she can't be friends with Summer anymore."

Olivia's eyes widened. "What?!" She covered her sons ear, noticing how close he was. "Why would she do that?" She held up her hand. "Never mind, I know why."

"Enlighten me." DJ sighed, sitting down on one of the bar stools. "I have never figured out why or how she got so involved in your lives."

"Well, she is Elliot's ex-girlfriend. When I met Elliot, their relationship was on the rocks and being friends with Elliot didn't help things. So, he broke up with her and we started dating later that day. Best day ever, by the way." Olivia grinned. DJ laughed. "Anyway, ever since then, she has been out to destroy me and get Elliot back." She put Zack in his bouncy seat and stood back up to lean on the counter. "Do you have any 'friends'?"

DJ rolled his eyes. "You said Elliot was downstairs, didn't you?" He asked, teasing her.

Olivia chuckled. "C'mon, last Elliot told me, you were dating a bartender."

"Yeah, she was great considering she was dating three other guys at the time." DJ nodded. "How do I always get stuck with the cheaters?" Olivia shrugged handing him a water. "Thanks! I just don't know. I'm just so busy with work and Carmela right now. There's not really time to meet anyone."

Olivia nodded understandingly. "That's why I got married out of high school. It helped that Elliot is... well, Elliot." DJ chuckled at her use of his name. "Don't worry. You'll find someone."

"Yeah, I'm still young." DJ nodded. He turned when he heard the basement door close, showing Elliot.

Elliot walked into the kitchen and smiled as he saw DJ. He looked at Olivia. "Your boyfriend is here." Olivia laughed. "What's up, DJ?"

"Not much. Hey, you know that trick you taught me about mice?" DJ reminded him. Elliot nodded. "It so worked!"

Olivia furrowed her eyebrows looking between the two. "El, what trick did you teach DJ about mice? And, how do you know this trick?" Only a hand full of people knew she was deathly afraid of mice. The first time she told Elliot, he didn't believe her. Then, he witnessed first hand what Olivia did if she saw a mouse. One crawled on the floor in his parents house once. She jumped onto his back and didn't let her feet touch the ground until the mouse was put outside. Even then, she looked around every corner for the next three days, making sure the coast was clear.

"Uh, there's a trap that's a sticky pad. DJ bought some, but didn't know how to get it off without touching it. You take peanut butter and put it on the trap after taking it outside. The mouse starts eating it and gets it on all of its paws. The peanut butter doesn't stick to the trap, so the mice set themselves free." Elliot informed her, chuckling as she made disgusted faces and shivered from thoughts of what he was describing.

"I need a bath." Olivia thought aloud as she closed her eyes. "That's disgusting. How did you ever find that out?"

Elliot smirked. "Well, Jordan and I-"

"Say no more." Olivia said, pinching the bridge of her nose. She knew that Jordan and Elliot tended to be a little... experimental around each other. They once tried to see what popcorn would taste like with brownie batter and honey. It was a sticky, disgusting mess. "I think I am going to take the girls to the backyard to play. Watch Zack and don't do anything stupid that's going to break something." She pointed her finger at the two and walked into the living room to get the girls.

Elliot chuckled. "I love that woman." He smiled and sat in the stool by DJ, keeping an eye on Zack. "So, anything new besides the mouse trap?"

DJ turned to Elliot and debated on whether he should tell him about Kathy. On the one hand, he hated Kathy and would do almost anything to protect his daughter, including a crime. On the other hand, if he didn't tell him, Olivia would. "Uh, yeah actually. Don't freak out. I fixed it and everything is fine with Carmela and Summer."

"What happened?" Elliot asked feeling his heart rate accelerate at the mention of his daughter being in a situation that needed fixing. "Did something happen to them?"

DJ caught on. "It's nothing you're thinking of, El. Calm down." He watched as his best friend physically relaxed on the spot. He knew he was protective of his kids, especially Summer. "Kathy just told Carmela to stay away from Summer. She doesn't want them to be friends and so... she had Carmela do her dirty work. She told me before she told Summer, so... she doesn't know. I don't know why, but Kathy is obsessed with you. Liv just told me what happened back in high school. But, she got pregnant with somebody else's child around that time."

"Yeah, my sister's boyfriend to be technical. He's a great guy. I don't know how he ended up with Kathy. Probably for the same reason you and I ended up with her and why her sad sap of a husband still is." Elliot nodded, patting DJ's back. "She's crazy!" DJ laughed with Elliot.

"Hey Dad!" He heard Dickie called from the other room.

"Yeah buddy?" Elliot asked turning in the stool.

They both saw Dickie and Kendle walk in, plugging their noses. "Zack wet his pants again."

Elliot chuckled. "If you can smell it, he didn't wet his pants." He lifted Zack out of his bouncy seat. "Your brothers are so mean to you, aren't they?"

Dickie grinned up at DJ. "We got the new Mario Kart came!"

DJ grinned. "Well, let's go play it."
