2008- April
Elliot pulled up to Fin and Casey's house before turning to Olivia as their kids got out, running to the door. "Liv, honey, are you sure you want to do this?"
"Yes, I have been sick for a week and nobody has gotten sick from me. Besides, I'm not that hungry so, unless somebody kisses me at this party for William, nobody will get sick." Olivia smirked. Elliot rolled his eyes. "Hey, you've been doing a lot more than kissing me for the past week and you're not sick."
Elliot smirked. "I was clearing your sinuses for you. We just both happened to enjoy it." He looked at the house to see Casey waving at them, telling them to come in. "C'mon, Case wants us to move our butts. You ready?"
Olivia nodded before they both got out of the car. She laughed when she saw Casey run over and hug her tightly. "Hey Casey."
"Hey Liv." Casey grinned pulling back. "I haven't seen you in a while. I missed my best friend." She looked Olivia over briefly. "Are you feeling okay?"
"Yeah, I've just had a bug for a while now. Nobody has gotten sick, not even that one." Olivia smiled pointing at Elliot. Casey chuckled as Elliot gave them a cocky grin. They slowly walked together towards the house. "So, anything new?"
Casey sighed. "That depends." She stopped, making Olivia look at her. "Uh, we have a problem with Alex."
Olivia furrowed her eyebrows. "What about Alex?"
"She and John are getting divorced for a second time." Casey breathed. Olivia's eyes widened. "I know! I don't get how they can love each other so much that they get married and then decide to get divorced because they have minor complications."
"Have they filed?" Olivia asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
"They decided not to tell anyone that they filed four months ago. Everything will be final this week." Casey sighed. "They are both inside, talking, having fun, and they act as if the divorce never happened."
Olivia paused, looking at Alex. She studied her friends features and gasped when she saw the true meaning in her eyes. "You are already planning their third wedding!"
"Well, somebody has to!" Casey defended. She let a small smile grace her lips. "C'mon, my thirteen year old wants his cake." Olivia grinned as they walked into the house. All the kids were downstairs from the noises that were coming from down there. She looked at Fin and chuckled sadly at his gloomy look. "Why the long face?"
Fin glared at her for a moment. "My oldest son is thirteen. He is discovering girls and is reading them completely wrong. He's going to get slapped a few times. Kenny, my soon to be ten year old, isn't interested in girls romantically. But, he is best friends with all the girls in his class. And, my daughter is eight and already has a boyfriend. I sometimes miss three a.m. feedings."
"Speak for yourself." Casey and Olivia said at the same time.
Olivia sat down next to Elliot while Casey sat next to Fin. John and Alex came in a moment later and joined them, sitting on the floor. Now that the kids were older, they entertained themselves saying that parents weren't allowed. After lunch, they all went outside. Olivia looked over to find Dickie, Kendle, and Kenny playing cops and robbers. Zack and Carly were playing in the sandbox. She furrowed her eyebrows when she couldn't find Summer or William. A leg hanging off a branch caught her attention. She looked up in the tree to find the two. Summer was laughing as William played with the trunk of the tree. "Case." She hit Casey's arm to get her attention. "Look at them." She smiled.
Casey looked up at them and sighed happily. "Look how cute they are. Maybe I should start planning their wedding." Olivia laughed.
"Whose wedding?" Elliot asked with furrowed eyebrows.
"Our son and your daughter are pretty close." Casey smirked, pointing at the tree.
Elliot looked up at the tree and shook his head. "The wedding can't be before October 23, 2037. That's my only request."
Later that night, Elliot walked into the bathroom to find Olivia sitting down by the toilet. "Liv, honey, please go see a doctor. This is the third night you've slept in here because you couldn't go through the night without throwing up."
"El, I'm fine. It'll be gone in a few days." Olivia said, brushing it off.
"You said that a couple days ago." Elliot pointed out. He rubbed her back. "I'll call Dr. Lucas in the morning and we can have an appointment with him. Maybe he could give you something that will help with the nausea." Olivia looked at him lazily, obviously tired. "You need your sleep, babe."
"You don't have to tell me that." Olivia yawned. She rubbed her eyes. "Okay, I think I'm done in here for the night." She felt Elliot's arms wrap around her and lift her up. She rested against his chest, falling asleep almost immediately when she was put onto the bed. The next day, they went to the doctor's office. Dr. Lucas was happy to see all the kids and said that he would call them with Olivia's test results in a few days.
Since Olivia was still sick, Elliot had been working with John and Fin on their cases. Bernie came over to the house and helped Olivia during the day with the kids. One night, Elliot walked into the house later than he had intended. A case had caught them last minute and John had taken the day off. Quietly, he took off his jacket and laid it on the foyer table. The house was dark, the refrigerator motor running in the kitchen. He trudged up the stairs, looking forward to wrapping his arms around his wife and falling into a slumber. When he walked into their bedroom, he was happy to see Olivia in bed instead of in the bathroom. The light from the TV highlighted her silhouette on the bed. She was curled up in the middle of the bed, her arms around his pillow. For a moment, he wondered if she did this the nights she was pregnant and he would have to pull an all nighter.
Elliot stripped down to his boxers, leaving his clothes on the floor to pick up in the morning. He slipped into the bed and groaned as he relaxed into the mattress. He put his hand on the pillow and tugged lightly, chuckling when his wife whined in her sleep. "Liv, baby, I'm home."
Olivia opened her eyes, groggy. "Good." Her eyes closed again before cuddled into his side, rubbing her face in his chest. "Dr. Lucas called today about my test results."
"Really? What did he say?" Elliot asked with a yawn. He looked down at Olivia to see her eyes sparkling, even in her lazy state.
"Uh, you are not going to believe this." Olivia smiled lightly. "El, honey, I'm pregnant."
Elliot stared at her, thinking he misunderstood. "I'm sorry, Liv. Did you just say you're pregnant?"
Olivia chuckled. "Yeah, I did. He said that's why I was so nauseas." She whined when Elliot sat up, bringing her with him. "Honey, I want to sleep."
"You and I are having another baby?" Elliot asked, ignoring her statement. Olivia nodded, rubbing her eyes. "Do the kids know?"
"No, I thought my husband should know first. Plus, Zack can't keep secrets." Olivia smiled lightly, dropping her head to her husband's shoulder, wrapping her arms around his torso.
Elliot smiled and kissed her head before placing a hand on her stomach. "I love you so much, Liv."
Olivia smiled, still leaning into Elliot. "I loved you too." She started falling asleep when he rubbed her back soothingly. Elliot looked down at her and grinned. He maneuvered both of them under the blankets before relaxing into the mattress again.
