Please review! Love you guys!
2008- July
"I can't believe you are turning nine today!" Olivia smiled at Kendle. He was eating lunch at the table with Dickie and Zack. Elliot and Summer were making cookies while Olivia sat down at the table to join her sons.
Kendle smiled. "I'm almost two whole hands."
Elliot smirked. "That means more birthday spankings." He grinned when Kendle stuck out his tongue.
Zack looked at Olivia, putting a hand on her twelve week baby bump. "How'd the baby get in there?" He asked looking up at his mother with his big blue eyes.
Olivia froze, feeling her face turn red. "Uh..." She looked at Dickie and pointed at him. "I rely on you to ask me these questions. You are rubbing off on your little brother." Dickie laughed, shaking his head. "Uh, Daddy gave me seeds and we planted them in my tummy." Dickie laughed again, earning a glare from his mother.
"Are we going to get another little brother?" Kendle asked taking a drink of his milk.
"I don't know. Your father and I are going to find that out today." Olivia said shaking her head. She looked over to find Elliot and Summer eating out of the bowl of cookie dough. "I thought you guys were making cookies."
"No, we're making cookie dough. Tonight is movie night! Daddy and I need our snack." Summer grinned before sliding off of the counter. She ran over to Olivia and held out Elliot's phone. "Look at Daddy's new background." Olivia looked at the picture. It was of her sleeping in bed. Zack was laying on her stomach. Kendle was cuddled into Olivia's left side. Dickie was to her right, her arm around him. Dickie's right arm was resting on Summer's back while she rested on his chest.
Olivia gasped. "Elliot, when did you take this?"
Elliot just grinned. "Back in February." He came over, putting the bowl of cookie dough in the freezer. "Once this baby is born, I'll get more chances to get more of these pictures." He took his phone back before slipping it into his pocket. "When is your appointment again?"
"Uh, at one. Alex is coming over to watch the kids." Olivia said before getting up. She rinsed out her bowl before putting it on the counter next to the sink. "She'll be here in the next hour." She looked at her son. "Kendle, why don't you go get your blue sneakers from your room before we go?"
Kendle nodded before running into the living room. Dickie got down and pulled on Summer's arm. "We're going on the trampoline."
"Does Summer want to go with you or are you taking her with you?" Elliot asked, folding his arms over his chest. Lately, Dickie had been taking Summer to do everything with him. Half the time, she didn't want to go because it was video games.
"Yes Daddy." Summer smiled looking up at him. She walked out to the backyard with Dickie and Beethoven.
Elliot shook his head. "I swear; those two could not be closer."
"Who? Dickie and Summer?" Olivia asked as she leaned into his side. His arm wrapped around her waist.
Elliot frowned. "No, Summer and Beethoven." He looked at his youngest son. "What do you think, Zack? Are you looking forward to playing with aunt Alex?"
Zack grinned. "Yeah, she paints my toe nails." Elliot slapped his hand onto his face.
Olivia laughed at her husband. "Honey, it's fine. Besides, he goes for the manly colors." She smirked before going over to her youngest son and kissing his head. "Why don't you go finish your movie before Alex gets here?" She patted her son's butt when he slid off the chair and hurried into the living room. She started cleaning up the dishes when Elliot came over and took them from her. "El..."
"Liv, I am cleaning this up. You go relax. We are finding out the sex of our baby today. This is our first appointment for the baby actually." Elliot said as he walked with the dishes to the sink.
"I know." Olivia smiled before sitting down at the island, watching as he scrubbed some of the dishes. "I'm excited." Elliot smiled at his wife before pecking her lips.
That afternoon, Elliot and Olivia took Kendle to her appointment. Dr. Lucas walked into the room while Olivia sat on the bed. "Hey Kendle!" He smiled.
"Hi." Kendle said quietly.
Elliot smiled. "Why are you being shy? He is your doctor! He was one of the first ones to see you come into this world."
Dr. Lucas smiled. "Yet, he's the only one I've seen in a while. I haven't seen Summer since she was seven. Dickie hasn't been here in four years."
Olivia chuckled. "Well, the last time they came here they got their shots. Now, the school offers it." She laid back while Dr. Lucas uncovered her stomach. "Elliot and I are pretty sure I'm twelve weeks along."
Dr. Lucas nodded before putting the wand on her stomach. He looked at the screen and smiled. "I'd say you're right." He moved the wand and grinned when he found the heartbeat. "That's your baby."
"Woah!" Kendle smiled, leaning forward to look at the screen. "It looks like a squirrel."
Olivia laughed, tearing up with happiness. She closed her eyes when Elliot kissed her head. Elliot looked at Dr. Lucas. "How is the baby?"
"Good, and I don't think he's lonely." Dr. Lucas grinned. "You guys are having twins."
"Come again?" Elliot asked wide eyed.
Dr. Lucas. "You and Olivia are having twin boys. By the looks of it, they are going to be identical." He smiled seeing Olivia's grin and the shock on Elliot's face. Kendle just looked confused. "What are you thinking there Kendle?"
"How did you plant two babies in Mommy's stomach?" Kendle asked looking up at his father.
"I have... no idea." Elliot breathed. He looked at Olivia to find her smiling. "I think your Mommy doesn't really care. She's too happy right now." He leaned down and kissed Olivia before dropping his forehead to hers. "I love you.
Olivia smiled, tears spilling over. "I love you too."
Kendle stuck out his tongue. "Oh gross! I thought you two only did this at home." Both his parents laughed before looking at him.
October
Olivia was sitting up in bed, watching TV, when she heard a knock at her door. She furrowed her eyebrows knowing it was almost midnight. The door opened slowly to show Summer. "Hey baby, what are you doing up?"
"I couldn't sleep. Can Bee and I come sleep in here?" Summer asked with her lip pouted out.
How can I deny that face? Olivia smiled. "Sure you can. Daddy has to pull an all nighter anyway." She watched as her daughter came over to the bed and cuddled into her side. Beethoven came in soon and plopped down beside them, making the mattress dip. "So, why couldn't you sleep?"
"I kept having nightmares." Summer yawned.
"Really? What about?" Olivia asked, brushing her daughter's hair out of her face.
Summer shook her head. "I don't want to talk about it."
Olivia was starting to worry. "Honey, you can tell me anything. What's bothering you?"
"I don't know really. There was just a bad man that was hurting me. Dickie and Kendle fell asleep and the man took me into his room." Summer teared up.
Olivia knew immediately that Summer had a flashback. "Oh baby, it's okay." She cradled her daughter as best she could. "Don't worry. He's never going to hurt you. I promise." She looked at the TV with the time in the corner. "Look, it's officially your birthday."
Summer smiled, wiping her eyes. "Can I open my present right now?"
Olivia laughed and kissed her daughter's head. "We can't do anything without Daddy here. He really wants to see your face when you open your present." She chuckled when Summer rolled her eyes. "Should we go to sleep? The sooner we do that, the sooner we'll get to see Daddy."
"I guess." Summer sighed before she laid down with her mother. She gasped when she felt something against her hand. "What was that?"
"That was the baby." Olivia grinned. "Your little brothers are telling me they are tired." She stroked her daughter's arm while they laid there. "Night birthday girl."
"Night Mamma." Summer smiled before closing her eyes. Olivia soon fell asleep to the sound of her daughter's breathing and the incessant panting Beethoven made.
That morning, Elliot walked into their room, tired from a day and night of work. He looked at the bed and found Olivia awake as she rubbed their daughter's back. Summer was laying on her stomach, face towards Olivia. Beethoven was on the floor, laying on his side. "Hey, did she sleep in here?"
Olivia looked up at him and nodded. "Yeah, she had a nightmare."
"We can't let her sleep in here every time she has a nightmare. If we did that with all of our kids, I'd get you one night out of the week." Elliot half joked.
"Elliot, she had a flashback to when Mike abused her." Olivia sighed. Elliot froze and stared at her. "She didn't know what to make of it and came to me." She paused a moment. "She dreamt that Dickie and Kendle went to sleep and a man took her into his room."
Elliot teared up and slowly went over to the bed, still fully clothed from work. He sat down next to his daughter and put a hand on her back. "And, here I am telling you she can't stay in here."
"El, you didn't know." Olivia breathed. She pecked his lips. "I'm going to shower and get dressed. You go to sleep. I'm pretty sure your daughter will be happy to see you when she wakes up." She got up and walked to their bathroom.
Elliot slowly laid down on the bed, facing his daughter. He rubbed her back. Her eyes opened groggily and looked at him. "Daddy?"
"Hey soldier!" Elliot smiled lightly. He kissed her head before she cuddled into his chest. Her head rested on his left arm while his right wrapped around her. "Love you birthday girl."
"Love you too, Daddy." Summer murmured before falling asleep again.
December
"Elliot, I'm am one week past my due date. I thought twins were supposed to come early." Olivia groaned as they sat on the couch in his mother's house. Bernie, Scott, Joe, and, Rebecca's boyfriend, Josh took the kids out to go sledding so they would take a nap. Most of them wanted to stay up for the ball drop that night.
"Babe, it's not my fault." Elliot defended himself as he sat down with hot chocolate for both of them.
Olivia scoffed. "You're the one that knocked me up."
Elliot laughed with Jordan. "Honey, it was a little more romantic than that. Besides, we've been married for fourteen years. I wouldn't call it 'knocking you up'."
Jordan grinned before kissing Olivia's forehead. "Hey, at least you're not changing diapers yet."
"Yeah, but I still have to get up three times a night just to pee." Olivia huffed. She stood up and started towards the hallway.
"Where are you going?" Elliot asked.
"To the bathroom." Olivia grumbled before going into the bathroom. Elliot chuckled at his wife.
Jordan sat down next to his brother. "Olivia isn't too happy with the extra week, is she?"
Elliot looked at his brother. "Well, imagine that you were in her place. For months, you were on desk duty because you were carrying two other lives. Then, you are put on leave so you can prep for the big day. She is carrying forty extra pounds of weight constantly. Her back and feet and ankles hurt. She hasn't gotten a full night's rest in a month and a half. Right now, she has been in all that pain for an extra week plus the extra hormones it has given her makes her emotional. The only way for everything to stop is to deliver two children after hours of painful labor."
"Why would you want to get pregnant in the first place?" Jordan asked with a shudder.
Elliot smirked. "You get the best children you could ask for. Trust me. If I could carry our twins for her, I would. But, honestly, I think she's right about the whole women being pregnant thing."
Jordan furrowed his eyebrows. "What's that?"
"God built woman to carry babies because men couldn't handle it." Elliot said simply before taking another drink from his mug. "Think about it. They were uncomfortable shoes and clothing just to look good. They cover their faces in make up which can take hours to do if you do your hair. They can do anything we can in heels. Olivia had me wear heels once. I couldn't last one hour." He shook his head. "I don't ever want to experience pregnancy. But, Olivia loves being pregnant even with all those down sides."
"Wow," Jordan said shaking his head. "How has work been going by the way?"
"Eh, it's SVU. It's kind of the same, horrifying. But, we do it because somebody has to." Elliot sighed. He scratched his jaw. "Did Mom tell you that Olivia is looking for her father?"
"No, why would she do that?" Jordan asked.
Elliot opened his mouth and then closed it. "She wants to know what he's like, who he was. She doesn't want to meet him, I don't think. She just wants to know what's in her blood. When we got pregnant with the twins, it became more important to her. She sent in a sample of her blood for a kinship analysis. If somebody is in the system that has her DNA, she'll get a step closer or even find out who he is."
Jordan paused. "Are you nervous?"
"I'm not going to lie. I am terrified. If she finds out something that scars her, it could be hard for all of us. I want her to be happy and know everything there is to know about her, but... I don't want her getting hurt in the process." Elliot breathed. He looked up when he heard something fall. He hurried to the bathroom door and knocked lightly. "Liv, honey, are you okay?"
Olivia groaned. "Yes, but we need to go to the hospital."
"Why?" Elliot asked worried.
"I just felt a contraction." Olivia said opening the door.
