Please review! I did post this chapter already, but I wanted to add to it. I was too tired last night to remember what all was supposed to go into this chapter! Sorry!
2011- February
"Happy Valentine's Day, baby." Elliot grinned before climbing on top of Olivia. Olivia chuckled, welcoming his weight. "Good morning!"
"Good morning to you too, Mr. Can't Keep His Pants On." Olivia smiled before pecking his lips. "Happy Valentine's Day, El." She grinned when he winked at her before capturing her lips with his. She moaned feeling him push into her. She kissed her way down his neck, digging her nails into his back as he thrust into her again. A crash from downstairs brought them out of their moment.
"Kendle did it!" They heard Dickie yell.
Kendle stomped his foot. "I did not!"
Olivia's head dropped back into her pillow. "Damn it!" She breathed. "We should probably get up and see what they broke."
Elliot stopped her from getting up. "I can get you off in two minutes. Give me two minutes."
"El, the way you do two minutes, I can't feel my legs for ten minutes." Olivia said.
"Then, I will go take care of it and you recuperate before you come down." Elliot said. He kissed her again, smirking when she couldn't help but fall into the kiss.
"I didn't break it." Dickie argued. "You're the one that tipped it over." He looked at the broken lamp on the floor. "You tripped on the cord because you were running."
Kendle frowned and stomped towards the couch before slumping onto it. "It shouldn't have been there." He watched as his three younger brothers played on the floor, not caring about the situation.
Dickie sighed, running a hand down his face. "Dad is going to be pissed." They heard a door slam from upstairs and looked up to see Elliot marching down in his sweat pants. "Yep, he is."
"What happened?" Elliot nearly shouted as he walked towards them. He froze when he saw the shattered glass lamp on the floor. "How?...Who?"
"Kendle was running and tripped over the cord to the lamp. It fell down and broke." Dickie explained before looking at his phone. "Also, do you mind if I hang out with Carmela today at her house?"
"Go ahead." Elliot said, not taking his eyes off of the lamp. He turned to Kendle and saw his son playing with his fingers. "Kendle, what do you have to say for yourself?"
Kendle stood up and walked over. "The cord shouldn't have been there. It's dangerous. It should've been hidden or wrapped around the table so that Eli and Oliver can't get into it."
Elliot's eyes widened. "It's been like that since your sister was born. It's fine. You're the one that broke it. You are going to help me clean this up and then you are grounded for the weekend."
"But Dad!" Kendle whined.
"No!" Elliot yelled. He looked down at the lamp again. "Go get the broom and dust pan. I want this picked up before your brothers start investigating this." He moved the table to make sure glass didn't get under it.
"DADDY!" Summer yelled, running down the small hallway in order to look down at her father over the railing.
Elliot looked up and saw his daughter standing in her pajamas. "It's not a good time, Murmur."
Summer ran a hand through her hair. "It's Bee!" She growled before running back to her room.
Elliot stood up and looked around, seeing his oldest son in the kitchen talking on the phone. "Dickie, make sure your brothers don't get into this. I need to go help your sister." He hurried upstairs as Olivia walked out of their room in her pajamas.
"El, what's going on?" Olivia asked worried.
"I don't know. Summer says something is going on with Beethoven." Elliot sighed before hurrying to his daughter's room. He opened the door and found Summer stroking Beethoven while he panted on his side. He hurried over and looked at Beethoven's eyes. They were red and droopy. "Summer, go grab my keys. We're taking him to the vet." Summer hurried out of the room, grabbing her sweat shirt and boots.
Olivia came over and put a hand on Beethoven's head. "Hey Bee!" She smiled sadly with tears in her eyes. "El..."
Elliot shook his head. "Don't say goodbye to him. He's going to be fine." He grabbed Summer's patch blanket and wrapped it around Beethoven before lifting him up. "Jeez, he got heavy."
Olivia followed him as they hurried downstairs. Elliot went into the garage and put Beethoven in the trunk before closing the door. "Elliot."
"He'll be fine." Elliot breathed, grabbing her shoulders. He kissed her forehead before turning to their SUV. "Summer, let's hit it." Summer hugged her mother before getting into the passenger seat. Olivia went to the back window and looked down at Beethoven. A few tears cascaded down her face as she waved to him.
Elliot got in and started the vehicle before hurrying off to the vet. They hurried in and got Beethoven into an office where a doctor examined him. The doctor left to look at test results afterwards. Summer was sitting on a stool next to the bed Beethoven was on. She was rubbing his head while he laid on his stomach, staring up at her. Elliot sat in a chair beside them, one hand over his mouth while the other was rubbing soothing circles on his daughter's back. The door opened back up to show the veterinarian. "Mr. Stabler? Can I talk to you in the hallway for a moment?"
Elliot nodded before standing up. He kissed Summer's head. "I'll be right back." He patted Beethoven's back before going out to the hallway, closing the door behind them. "...You want to put down my dog, don't you?"
She sighed. "We believe that Beethoven is in constant pain from the arthritis. It has spread everywhere. If you let him go home, he'll only get worse. He could fall down the stairs, break bones-"
"And if I put him down, it's going to break my daughter's heart. He's part of our family." Elliot argued.
"Well, do you want your daughter to see him go through all that plus the pain he's already in." She asked, holding the clipboard to her chest. "Call your wife and talk it over with her."
"It's not my wife I'm worried about." Elliot sighed before dropping his head. He pulled out his phone as she walked away. Olivia answered on the first ring.
"Elliot, what's wrong?" Olivia asked.
Elliot paused, tearing up. "Beethoven... Beethoven has severe arthritis. The doc believes that he is in constant pain and that, soon, he could start losing muscle power. You know falling down the stairs and breaking bones." He sniffled. "She believes that, in Beethoven's best interest, it would be better to not let him suffer."
Olivia wiped her eyes. "Well, we don't want him to suffer. And, if that stuff is going to happen, it's just going to be painful for him and for us to watch him." She paused. "What do you want to do?"
"I want to take him home, but I don't want him to suffer." Elliot breathed. "I don't know how to break it to Murmur."
"I don't know how to break it to the boys. Dickie decided to stay home so he could hear about Beethoven." Olivia sighed, sniffling. "Tell him I love him before they... do it."
Elliot nodded. "I will. I love you."
"I love you too." Olivia choked out before hanging up.
Elliot slid the phone into his pocket and put his hand on the door knob. He opened the door to find Summer already crying. She wiped her eyes on her sleeve and laid her head on Beethoven's. Beethoven lifted his head and put it on top of Summer's after licking her cheek. She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him as his head rested on her. "Summer?"
"Yeah?" She asked, not moving. When Elliot didn't speak, she looked up at her father and knew what was going on when she saw his face. Summer choked on a sob before hugging Beethoven tighter. Elliot went over and pulled her to his chest. Her arms wrapped around him and her face buried itself into his shirt.
That night, after burying Beethoven and watching a number of movies, they each headed off to bed. Olivia woke up at two thirty, hearing faint voices downstairs. "El?" He groaned and turned around. "El, I think somebody is downstairs."
Elliot's eyes popped open. He sat up when he heard the voices too. He stood up with Olivia behind him. "Today is not a good day to mess with me." He nearly growled. They walked out of their bedroom and peered over the railing. Dickie and Summer were on the couch. Dickie had his feet propped up on the recliner with his arm wrapped around Summer. She was huddled into his side as they both ate popcorn and ice cream. "They couldn't sleep."
"Of course they couldn't. Dickie has known Beethoven since he was two and Beethoven was Summer's best friend. He slept with her every night. If I didn't have you, I wouldn't be able to sleep either." Olivia sighed. They both walked down the stairs quietly and scared their kids by accident. "Sorry guys, what are you watching?" She sat down next to Summer. Elliot sat down next to Dickie.
"We're watching Finding Nemo." Dickie said pointing to the TV with the remote. "There's not a lot on. The Nanny ended about a hour ago."
"I love that show." Olivia smiled. "Your father and I used to watch that every week when we were first married and didn't have you rug rats." She ruffled Dickie's hair before kissing Summer's head.
Summer cuddled into her mother and laid her head on her shoulder. "That must've been a boring part of life."
Elliot chuckled. "Back then, it wasn't that boring. We didn't know we were missing out on such wonderful children." He kissed Dickie's head, happy when his son didn't crinkle his nose in disgust.

The gun shot rang in his ears. He looked up at Olivia, still holding Jenna. She stared back at him as she held out her blood covered hands. She watched as Elliot stood up. She stood up and hurried over to him. His arms wrapped around her torso while hers wrapped around his shoulders. "El, it's okay." She breathed. He shook his into the crook of her neck. "It's not your fault."

"This boy can drive!" Dickie smiled proudly as he stepped through the front door.
Olivia came in from the kitchen and smiled. "You got your license!?"
"Yep! My picture and everything!" Dickie smirked. "I will take the keys to the my new car and be on my way."
Elliot shook his head. "We still have to go over the rules."
Dickie's jaw dropped. "Is there really more than the ones that you wrote in the manual for me. I can't even chew gum in my new car because of rule three hundred and five."
"We'll admit. That one was a little much." Olivia chuckled. She saw her soon to be fourteen year old daughter breeze by. "Where are you going?"
"Dickie and I are going with William and Carmela to a movie." Summer said putting her phone in her pocket. "It's the last week of summer. William and I need all the time we can get together before I start volleyball and he starts football."
Elliot rolled his eyes at his daughter and then looked at his son. "Fine, you two can go. But, be home before eight and keep an eye on each other."
"Got it!" They both called before hurrying out of the house.
"We come second now, don't we?" Elliot asked.
"We come third. It goes from boyfriends and girlfriends to car to us." Olivia chuckled, patting his shoulder. "It sucks."
Elliot watched his wife walk back towards the kitchen. He followed her slowly. "Liv, I want to talk about something."
Olivia looked up at him and froze when she saw the look on his face. "What is it?"
He took a deep breath and sighed. This wasn't going to be easy. "I don't want to go back to SVU." He watched her features turn to shock. "After the shooting,... I just can't go back. My old recruiter called. If I want to, I can go back to the marines. I'm considering it."
"What?" Olivia asked, tears brewing in her eyes.
"Liv, honey, I'll be okay." Elliot said, taking her arms gently in his. She was still trying to wrap her head around the idea. "It won't be easy, but I think this will be good for me. But, I won't go if you don't want me to."
Olivia shook her head before laying her head on his chest. His arms wrapped around her, rubbing her back slowly. "I don't want you to go, but if it's what you want... I want that for you." She kissed his chest before laying her head back onto it. Her eyes closed when he kissed her head. "I'm scared."
"I am too." Elliot admitted.

Elliot looked at his family in his uniform. They were standing in the empty lot where Elliot would board the bus to get onto the plane. He had said goodbye to Eli and Oliver back at his mother's house. He crouched down to look at Zack. "I'm going to miss you little man."
Zack wrapped his arms around Elliot's neck. "I'm going to miss you too, Daddy." Elliot kissed his son's head before he looked at Kendle.
Kendle hugged Elliot. "Be careful out there, Dad."
"I will." Elliot said, patting his back. He turned slightly to find Summer coming his way. Her arms wrapped around him as his wrapped around her. "I'll be okay, soldier."
"I love you, Daddy." Summer quivered, wiping her tears away.
"I love you too." Elliot breathed before kissing her head and letting her go.
Dickie walked up to his father and hugged him. "Come back home in one piece."
Elliot nodded and ruffled his hair. "I will. You'll see me before you know it." He turned to Olivia to find her already holding back tears. He stepped closer to her and wrapped his arms around her. "I love you so much, Liv."
Olivia kissed his chest before looking up at his face. "I love you too." She cupped his face in her hands kissed him. "Call me whenever you can. Skype me. I want to see that you are okay."
"Got it." Elliot breathed before kissing her forehead. He heard the loud speaker come on, announcing that he needed to board the bus. "That's me. I gotta go."
Olivia nodded, giving him another kiss, before letting him. She felt something leave her when he started walking away. Elliot walked through the crowd and joined the line of other marines ready to get on the bus. He adjusted his bag on his back and looked over at his family. Zack was hanging onto Summer while she held him on her back. Dickie had his arm around Olivia's shoulders while she laid her head on his shoulder. Olivia's hands were resting on Kendle's shoulders. He waved at them right before getting on the bus.
