"No!" The long scream filled with agony fear anger and horror could not even be heard in Padme's own ears. She could not bring herself to believe what just happend. Her eyes, drained from tears, stayed glued to the monitor. This had to be some trick, a clever use of perception to manipulate what actually happened. M'ilia, her Queen, her sister, could not be dead. She lay on her knees blocked out from the world around her.

Obi-wan tried to get her to move, the Force could no longer be ignored. The roar in his head now was a direct command to run. Danger was coming.

"Padme, I am sorry, but we must go!" Yelled Obi-wan. The Jedi went to pick up the shocked handmaiden when the Force immediately directed his hand to his Lightsaber to deflect a wave of blaster fire. Obi-wan pushed Padme with his mind away from the direct line of fire and engaged the droids. More of the destroyer droids had arrived, their shields activated. Obi-wan was able to dismantle one by throwing debris of a fallen droid into the shield of the destroyer. The shield was lowered just enough for Obi-wan's lightsaber to make contact and disable the droid. The remaining droids rotated into a new battle formation that forced Obi-wan to fall back into the communications room. He moved as quickly as he could while still maintaining a defensive stance but right as he made it inside he was hit just above his left hip. He fell down and rolled underneath an adjacent desk.

Obi-wan's yell of pain finally shook Padme out of her trance. It was not hard to see that their situation at hand was dire and so, she found the strength to move. She pick up her blaster and took out the first two droids that entered the room. Now that Padme was a threat, the droids changed their approach to get a clear shot of her, but the desk Obi-wan had used for cover flew across the room and blocked the entrance way, cutting off the droids view of Padme. Padme rushed to Obi-wan.

"It looks terrible!" She gasped.

"It didn't make enough contact to do serious damage." Obi-wan then grimaced as he tried to get up. "But yes it still hurts." Padme assisted Obi-wan to the back of the room. Right as they took cover, the droids broke through the doorway. Padme shot blindly over her head as the droids sent a heavy barrage of fire throughout the room. Obi-wan threw his lightsaber and guided it through the doorway. A few of the droids were taken out but more entered the room. Even worse, however, Obi-wan's lightsaber did not return.

Obi-wan's side throbbed with pain, distracting him from his throw. He lost his focus with his weapon and now could not retrieve it. He turned his attention to his wound using the Force to aid in what it could to reduce the pain. The Force is adequate for such situations but Obi-wan was not trained nor had the skill to call on the Force as a healing agent. He was however able to reduce the pain allowing him to focus. He pulled the closest blaster to him and fired back along with Padme.

"So uncivilized." He joked, but Padme was not in the mood. Obi-wan saw the pain in hers eyes, the tears on her face. He remembered their conversation on the ruins of the Naboo civil war. He pulled a second blaster to him and looked Padme in the eyes.

"On the count of 3, fire all you got. I'm making a run for the door." Padme looked at him with a fearful doubt. "I can retrive my lightsaber before I actually reach the door." That was more a hope than a surety but he needed it to sound like a plan not an act of desperation. He closed his eyes.

"One." Fear dug deep into his soul.

There is no emotion, there is peace.

"Two." Panic stirred in his heart.

There is no passion, there is serenity.

"Three!"

There is no death, there is the Force.

Obi-wan stood and blasted the two droids right in front of him, Padme hit another. Obi-wan lunged forward prepared for the worst. Yet he felt not the terror of death but a familiar presence. He rolled back behind cover as a green light entered the room, destroying the droids.

"Master your timing is impeccable!" Cried Obi-wan. He stood up and provided cover fire for Qui-gon. He now saw that the Gungun, Jar Jar, was here as well. The Gungun's weapon was a long, light axe with a spiked crystal at its top. The crystal provided an electrical element to the weapon that easily took down the shields of the destroyer droids. The droids were out matched and the work quickly finished.

"Jar Jar, get The Governor." The Gungan ran around the corner and Qui-gon examined Obi-wan's wound. "You are fortunate, the damage does is not too great but you will need to see a proper healer."

"Master the Queen. She has been executed."

"Yes, we saw the broadcast."

"But why? Can it really serve their purposes?"

"There is no logic in the Federations move here but they have demonstrated their determination to see their acquisition of this planet through." Jar Jar returned with a elderly man well dressed and a blue astromech droid.

"This is Governor Sio Bibble, spokesmen for the Naboo Court. He was held up in the throne room and informed us that the Queen had just been relocated. We now know for what purpose." Obi-wan nodded to the Governor who bowed his head in return.

"Myself and the people of Naboo are indebted to you young Jedi. But we must act quickly before all is lost. Where is Padme, the young Handmaiden to the Queen?" Padme was sitting on the floor, back against the wall and her eyes closed. The Governor bent down and gently touched her face. She opened her eyes and lunged to embrace him. The young girl sobbed into the should of Sio. Sio embraced her, a tear running down his face. He whispered to her "I'm sorry. So sorry." Qui-gon turned to Obi-wan and spoke.

"The Governor has recorded a message to the people on this astromech that we need to broadcast and fast. By now I'm sure the Federation have put in place an election for a new Head of the court, a person who will "legally" sign over the authority of Naboo."

"They can't do that can they?"

"Not by the conditions we have witnessed but they will try." The Governor was speaking to Padme, both hands on her shoulders eyes locked.

"Get the astromech set and have him broadcast to as many locations as possible."

"Yes master. Come astromech, there is a computer terminal over on the left." The little droid responded with a few beeps and whistles and followed Obi-wan. Obi-wan accessed the droid from an adjacent control and unlocked all permissions he could. "What do you need from me?" he asked the droid. The droid again responded with beeps and whistles but this time a chat box opened on Obi-wan's monitor with the translation.

R2-D2: GREETINGS JEDI. ONCE I UPLOAD FILE BIBBLE_ I WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH THE STEPS TO BROADCAST THE MESSAGE TO ALL NETWORKS.

"Thank you R2-D2, and while you're at it could you send a message to the Federation that the hostiles were terminated at our current location? It may buy us some time." Within the next five minutes R2-D2 had uploaded the message and walked Obi-wan through the commands the droid couldn't access. Obi-wan was very impressed with the speed and efficiency of the Droid. The new R2 units were living up to their hype. "Master, the droid has finished and we are ready to broadcast the message." R2-D2 beeped and whistled. "It also says that Captain Panaka is in position. What does he mean by that?"

Qui-gon looked to Sio Bibble, who in turn looked to Padme.

"My lady, do I have your permission to broadcast the message to the people?" Padme stood up and looked straight to Obi-wan.

"Master Jedi, you have my authorization to play Governor Bibble's transmission."

"Yes my lady." Obi-wan didn't follow the reasons for the sudden change in formality but could sense that it was necessary. Whatever he had just missed would be explained to him in due time. "R2-D2 play the transmission." All the monitors went black for a couple of seconds and then Governor Bibble appeared on all the screens and holo projectors.

"Inhabitants of Naboo. As you know the trade Federation have broken Republic law and have invaded our planet. They have attacked our cities, murdered our people and as you all have witnessed, executed our Queen. Our hearts are broken but now is not the time for mourning. What you do not know is the Jedi have come to our aid, they have entered Theed undetected and currently have our beloved Queen's sister, young Padme Amadala. Hear me people of Naboo! We are not defeated! The Federation wish to elect a new ruler, one who will bend to their demands and make their control legal. But we are still a free people. I, Sio Bibble, the voice of the court bring to you, by way of our laws, the courts choice for Queen: Padme Amadala! Do you free people of Naboo accept the court's decision that correlates to our laws, that you the people, formed? I, by the powers vested in me declare Padme Amadala, the Head of the Royal Court, Queen of Naboo!"
