2020- January

"Elliot, I want to go arrest this guy." Olivia whined as he put on his jacket. Since telling him she was pregnant, he was in overprotective mode. She knew that she shouldn't go out to arrest people, but she was tired of staying in the precinct all the time.

"Liv, I don't care. You are not just looking after you anymore." Elliot argued, gently taking her biceps in his hands.

Olivia rolled her eyes. "I haven't looked out for just me in a long time. The first day we met was the last time I looked out for just me."

Elliot grinned and kissed her cheek. "So, would you want to go back there?" He watched as his wife glared at him. "I know you're agreeing with me. Liv, we don't want to put this little one in danger, do we?"

"No." Olivia sighed after a minute. She crossed her arms over her chest and huffed out a breath. "But, as soon as I can, I am arresting someone and interrogating them."

"Deal." Elliot smiled before kissing her forehead. "I'll be back later. Hold down the fort while we're gone." He said before following Nick out of the squad room.

Olivia sat down at her desk and grabbed one of the many files on her desk, getting to work. She looked up when Amanda rushed in looking frazzled. "Amanda, are you okay?"

Amanda shrugged her shoulders before throwing her jacket on. "My sister just called me and said she is going to my apartment. One, she doesn't know where I live anymore. Two, she hasn't gotten the message that she can't stop by any time she wants and turn my life upside down." She zipped up her jacket. "Shit, I forgot to put the prints the log box."

"I can do it." Olivia suggested, standing up from her desk. "The worst thing that can happen there is a paper cut."

"Elliot won't let you arrest anyone, huh?" Amanda smiled lightly. Olivia nodded. "He's just looking out for you. I wish I had somebody like that. Well, besides all you guys." She patted Olivia's arm reassuringly before hurrying out of the squad room. Olivia wondered if Amanda knew if she was pregnant. They hadn't told anybody besides Cragen.

Olivia took the small yellow paper with the black ink fingerprints on it and walked towards the back room with the cage. When she walked past the cage, the guy inside looked at her, hanging onto the iron bars. "You gonna let me out of here, honey?"

"No, I'm not." Olivia said simply before grabbing the log box, putting it where it needed to be for the guard to put into the system later. She looked up when she saw a older man walk in. "Sorry, sir. You can't be in here. Can I help you?"

"No," The man said, shaking his head, before pulling out his gun. "This man raped and murdered my daughter." He gritted out before firing his gun.

The man in the cage yelled and jumped back before patting himself down. Fin and another detective hurried in and grabbed the guy with the gun. "I'm not hit."

Olivia took a shaky breath as she held a hand to her stomach. "Fin?"

Fin looked at Olivia to find the blood on her hand, covering her stomach. "Oh no." He breathed before hurrying over to her. "We gotta get you to the hospital."

"Fin, I'm pregnant." Olivia gasped, grimacing as she put her arm around his neck.

"Shit!" Fin gritted out.

Cragen and John hurried in hearing the gunfire. Once Cragen saw the blood and where it was, he knew what Olivia was thinking. "Oh my God! Call a bus, John!" John took his phone out of his pocket and dialed before putting the phone to his ear. "What happened?"

Olivia took a deep breath. "The bullet must've ricoshade off the bars of the cage. The guy was trying to shoot our perp."

"Bus is on the way. They said they'll be here in five minutes." John breathed.

"Can I sit down?" Olivia breathed, the pain ripping through her sides.

Cragen grabbed a chair and brought it over. "Yeah, sit down. Just keep breathing and keep your eyes open, okay?" Olivia nodded. He looked at Fin. "I'll go call Elliot."

Olivia groaned as she sat down. "Son of a bitch!"

"I'm so sorry." The man said, standing handcuffed now.

"Shut up!" Fin said before looking back at Olivia, making sure she stayed awake. He moved her hand and applied pressure to her wound, causing her to groan. "Sorry."

Olivia shook her head. "It's fine." She bit her lip.

"Hey Elliot." Cragen breathed. He paused as he looked down at Olivia. "We got a problem. Olivia's been shot... No, she's okay. She's just in a lot of pain. We called a bus to take her down to Mercy." He sighed and nodded. "Yeah, you can talk to her." He held his phone out to Olivia.

Olivia took the phone and held it to her ear, tearing up. "Hey El."

"Hey, are you okay?" Elliot asked, his voice raspy.

"I'm fine, but... I don't know about the baby, El." Olivia breathed.

Elliot closed his eyes, feeling more tears burn the back of his eyes. "It'll be okay, Liv. Just keep breathing for me."

Olivia nodded. "Okay." She grimaced again when the pain became stronger. "It hurts like a bitch."

"Yeah, I know it does." Elliot sighed and smiled lightly. "Hey, I am going to tell you a story to keep your mind off of it." He blinked back his tears before continuing. "Once, there was a boy who thought the most important thing in the world was food. His whole world changed when he met his this girl. The first day they were together, they were inseparable. As time went on, this boy came to love this girl and proposed to her in front of his entire school. When she said yes, he swore that his entire life would be perfect just because he was going to be with her. Do you know what he has learned everyday?"

"What?" Olivia asked with a small smile.

"He has learned that his wife is the most beautiful, most complex, most frustrating, most loving, but most importantly, she is the only one on this planet that could ever be with him. Because, he could not love anyone else the way he loves her." Elliot breathed as Nick turned into the hospital parking lot.

Olivia grinned. "I love you too." She saw the paramedics hurry in and the pain started to come back. "I gotta go. The bus just got here. I'll see you at the hospital?"

Elliot nodded. "Yeah, Nick and I just got here. I'll meet you here." He got out of the car when Nick parked. "No matter what happens, it'll be okay. We'll be okay."

"Okay." Olivia breathed before groaning as the paramedics laid her on the gurney.

Cragen took the phone from Olivia and brought it up to his ear. "El, we'll be at Mercy in about five minutes."

"Yeah, I know. Listen to me. I need to you stay with Liv until she gets here. It doesn't have to be you I guess, but I want somebody with her, making sure that she stays awake and breathing. I know she's strong and stubborn, but I am not taking any chances." Elliot demanded as he and Nick stood in the main waiting room. "You said she was shot in the stomach. I already know what the chances for our baby is, but Liv still has a chance. I need her to pull through. I need her."

"You got it. Fin is going with her right now. The elevator doors just closed. They'll be with you soon." Cragen nodded and looked at the room. "Call me when you find out more."

Elliot took a deep breath. "Okay." He hung up and put his phone in his pocket before looking up at Nick, seeing the surprise on his face. "Oh yeah, I forgot you didn't know Olivia was pregnant." He teared up. "She probably isn't anymore."

Nick watched as his friend sat down and put his head in his hands. He sat down next to him. "El, she may not be pregnant anymore, but at least she's okay. I know it seems a little cold, but isn't it better than losing both of them?"

Elliot looked up at Nick. "Yeah, it is. If Liv died,... I don't even know what I'd do." He shook his head. "We didn't really tell anybody. We told Cragen that she was pregnant so that he wouldn't put her out in the field, but that was it. We didn't tell any of the kids. We didn't tell anybody else at work. We didn't even really know why. We just wanted to wait." They both looked outside when they heard ambulance sirens. "That's probably her." He said before running outside, following the ambulance around the emergency entrance. The back doors opened and Fin climbed out. "Fin!" He ran to the back of the ambulance.

"Hey, she's still awake and still breathing. They're going to take her into surgery." Fin explained as the paramedics brought Olivia out.

"Elliot!" Olivia called, reach an arm towards him.

Elliot pushed passed Fin and took Olivia's hand as they hurried inside. "Hey Liv." He looked down at her stomach and saw how much blood she lost. "Jesus Liv!" He breathed.

"I'm fine, really." Olivia nodded as they hurried into an elevator. When the doors opened again, they hurried down another hallway to the operating room. The nurses there took Olivia back.

A surgeon came out. "Are you her partner?" He asked.

Elliot nodded. "And husband." He added. "I want to be in there."

"I can't let you do that." The surgeon tried to explain.

"I want to be in there." Elliot repeated, nearly growling the words. "My wife is pregnant."

The surgeon paused before nodding. "Come with me." He led Elliot into a back room and gave him scrubs before showing him how to wash his hands properly. They went into the operating room where Olivia was already half asleep from the drugs.

"Hey Liv, I'm right here for you. I'm not going anywhere." Elliot breathed before kissing her head.

Olivia's head lolled to the side as she moaned. "How's the baby?"

Elliot looked up at the surgeon. He shook his head, knowing the shot would've been fatal. Elliot felt the tears burning the back of his eyes. "The doctor is still checking. Go to sleep."

A couple hours later, Elliot was sitting next to Olivia's bed. The surgery went well and she was expected to make a full recovery. He was just worried about telling her the news when she woke up. When she moaned, he knew he didn't have any longer to prepare. "El?"

"Hey Liv, how you feeling?" Elliot asked, taking her hand into his and squeezing it lightly.

"I feel like I've been shot." Olivia grumbled before opening her eyes. She took in her husband's appearance and felt her heart break just a little bit. "The baby didn't make, did it?"

Elliot shook his head. "No." He watched as her eyes filled with tears before he wrapped his arms around her, feeling her sob against him. His own tears started to fall.

May

Olivia chuckled looking at her husband. "El, aren't you going a little overboard here?"

"Our daughter is coming home after being gone for six months. If anything, I should be filming this." Elliot smiled before stepping off the ladder, looking at his homemade sign that said Welcome Home Murmur.

"Dad, Summer was in California, not Antarctica." Dickie laughed as he walked down the staircase with Brandon.

Zack grinned. "Summer would love it up there though. She's a heater like Dad."

"I take that as a compliment." Elliot chirped in before hearing a car door. "They're here!" He grinned before hurrying outside.

Olivia giggled as Dickie put his arm on her shoulders. "I think your father has finally gone crazy." She looked up at her oldest son and smiled when he kissed her cheek. "Let's go see your sister."

Elliot opened the door and smiled seeing his daughter and son in-law help their kids out of their SUV. "Well, look at what the cat dragged in." He said as he went down his front steps, walking down the sidewalk.

"Daddy!" Summer grinned before running to him. Elliot chuckled before wrapping his arms around his daughter, twirling her around. "I missed you a lot."

"I missed you too." Elliot breathed before cupping the back of her head, kissing her forehead. He pulled back to look into her eyes and grinned. "Welcome home!"

Summer giggled. "Thanks! I actually have something to tell everybody."

Elliot's eyes widened. "You're not pregnant, are you?"

Summer laughed. "No, Daddy! I have twin almost two year old daughters and Charlie is starting school this fall. William and I don't have time for another child right now."

"Well, you don't always plan it. You were our only planned child." Elliot smiled.

"Murmur!" Olivia squealed before hurrying over and hugging her daughter.

Summer chuckled. "Hey Mom!"

Olivia took a stand of her daughter's hair and studied it. "Okay, why are you growing your hair out to your waist? It's beautiful, but there's so much of it."

"The girls on set and I decided to grow our hair out and donate it. I haven't done it yet. Most of us haven't though." Summer explained before Dickie came up to her and hugged her, kissing her head. "Hey Dickie!"

"Hey yourself! I have been going crazy! You and I have to have a movie night soon." Dickie demanded, tapping her nose with his index finger.

Summer smiled. "Promise." She looked down when Kyra was at her feet. "Well, hello girly!" She picked up her daughter and kissed her head. "Look at everyone here to see us!"

Olivia grinned and took Kyra from Summer "Grandma wants to see her the most!"

"Where's my goddaughter!?" Alex called as she walked out the front door of the house.

"Right here!" Summer giggled before jogging over to Alex.

"Grandpa!" Charlie yelled as he ran over to Elliot.

Elliot grinned. "Charlie!" He picked up his grandson and kissed his head before William came over with Nekoda. "Hey William!"

William smiled and hugged Elliot. "Hey El! You have no idea how badly Summer wanted to come here to see you guys. She's excited to tell you her big news."

"She was talking about that." Elliot smiled before turning to look at his daughter. "Hey Summer! What do you have to tell everyone?"

"Well," Summer started with a grin as Alex wrapped her arms around Summer's shoulders. "The director and writers that I've been working with want to keep working together, but on something a little more permanent." She paused and broke out in a face splitting grin. "We are going to start a TV show. I'll help write with the others, but they also want me to be in it. Billy and I talked about it, and... I accepted the offer."

Elliot's smile dropped. "So, you are moving to California?"

Summer shook her head with a smile. "No, we are filming out here in New York. Billy and I bought the house down the block, the brick one I always wanted." Elliot grinned at her, knowing that he would never have to worry about his daughter leaving again for a while.
