Kurama's POV:

Genkai and I pass the time by conversing about anything from my relationship with Hiei to the Dark Tournament, her life, and her connections to demons. I think Genkai's living a pretty good life. I have only met her a day or so ago and I already have so much respect for her.

A demon secretly sneaks towards us, away from Hiei's view. The thing is, Hiei has this thing he likes to call his Jagan Eye and it can basically every single move you make and stalks you like a kitty cat. So I think you can figure out what Hiei's about to do. And you're completely right. Not even a yard from us and he's dead. It's nice to have someone love you so much.

We arrive to our destination right after Yusuke kills the last of them. "Oh yeah! Now that's what I call a fight. They didn't even stand a chance." He smiles cockily and cracks his knuckles.

Up ahead, an island stands with what looks like a turned crescent moon somewhere in the middle. "Wow." I breathe. "That's the island where we fight?"

Everyone gives me a nod. "Just wait, the demons aren't the sickest thing there is." I can tell Yusuke is shuddering just by the thought. I never knew anything could frighten him. He's all, as he likes to call himself, badass.

Once we land on the island, I'm surprised to see how many humans actually watch.

"So the demons know that they're humans right?" I ask as we pass through the hallways. A employer leads us to our rooms, greeting us once we stepped in the hotel.

"That's right. They're rich people from the human world, attending the tournament for their own sick reasons." Hiei whispers to me. He hasn't been very warm and welcoming since the ship. Then again, warm and welcoming isn't really Hiei's style. I guess I'll just have to get used to it for now.

The employer unlocks a door in the fourth floor. "This is your room. I hope you enjoy your stay." He bows and leaves us be.

"Yeah enjoy our stay till our death." Yusuke mutters after him.

Our room is like something I haven't seen before. Incase you don't know, I don't get out much. There's a giant window overlooking the ocean and three rooms with two separate beds.

"Would the princess like a room to himself?" Yusuke jokes, somehow getting a shoe mark on his cheek that looks similar to the bottom of Hiei's boots.

I slightly blush. "If you don't mind that is."

He wraps an arm around me. "Not at all. Besides," He moves my face so I'm looking directly into his honey brown eyes. "We wouldn't want the two of you getting comfortable here, would we?"

The pink quickly turns to red as I realize what he's saying. "Yusuke!"

He laughs uncontrollably and Hiei picks him up by the shirt throwing him against the wall right next to the window.

"Ahh… Hiei," I stammer. "Perhaps you should save the hostility for the tournament?"

His glare doesn't loosen on Yusuke, but I can tell he's listening. Stuffing his hands in his pocket, he walks towards one of the rooms and shut the door locking it.

Yusuke recovers from his shock and brushes away all the debris. "Little guy can't even take a joke." Kuwabara helps him his feet. "How do you stand him Kurama? He's so heartless."

"To you, but not to me, so I'm okay with it." I smile at the door that Hiei slammed shut. "Hey Hiei, come out here will you?"

Surprisingly, the door opens and he's standing in front of the window. "Talk about speed." I hear Kuwabara whisper.

"What do you want now, Kurama?" I can see his scarlet eyes reflecting off the glass.

"Nothing. I just wanted you to stay here and just relax for a moment? You seem so tensed up about this whole thing." We all sat down on the couches, leaning back in exhaustion.

"How can I not be? You're part of this tournament! You-" I hold his hand. That seems to shut him up.

"Relax. I trust you okay? Nothing's going to happen to me as long as I got you, those two dumbass, and Genkai." Lets just say calling Kuwabara and Yusuke dumbass can get you in a little minor trouble. But since Hiei's energy is exploding out in warning like a cannon, they decide to let it slide.

"First fight is tomorrow. Get some rest and eat small portions. Don't want to need to see you boys throwing up. Especially you, redhead." Genkai mocks.

"Yeah, yeah grandma. Lets just hope you can keep your wig on."

For the next twenty minutes or so Genkai and Yusuke insult eachother. I look down at Hiei. His eyes are rather calm and worried. He's thinking. I grip his hand. He looks up in surprise. A small grin appears on my face.

"It's going to be okay."

SOMEWHERE ON THE ISLAND:

"Did you hear? The first team we verse against has Yoko Kurama as one of they're players." An excited voice announces.

"Yeah I heard alright. Looks like the Legendary Bandit is back."

"This should be fun. I call first stab at that pathetic tail of his."

"No I call first stab!"

A loud cackling laugh interrupts the arguing. "Lets calm down shall we? Instead of seeing who gets to hit him first, lets talk to see who's able to kill him."
