And after one hiatus later, I have returned. After some cons, and life happening, I graduated from my community college, the first ever to on my mom's side. So this has been long awaited and I am sorry if it's short. It's going to get real good and touching soon, I hope.

Enjoy~!

I sighed as I looked to Kenzi. She was quiet as we ate, hardly talking to Al Elric. I knew something was wrong, but didn't get the chance to as Ling graced us with his presence. He walked straight to Kenzi, who merely looked up to him with uninterested eyes. She had always done that with him, or to any guy who gave her that look.

"Kenzi, you look as beautiful as a rare dessert flower," Ling said as he stood next to her.

Well, yeah, I thought, she's the only other blonde in the mix of a sea of black.

"Thanks," she said with the most uninterested look I've ever seen come from her.

"You know, there is still time to become one of my wives."

"Thanks for the offer, but no thanks."

Ling frowned a little and walked away, sitting near me. As we began to speak, we talked about Amestris-Xing relations. Soon after, there was the sound of a chair scrapping on the floor and Kenzi's blonde head getting up. She bowed her head to Al before leaving the room. I knew she was heading to her room, like usual. I looked to Al, who moved his plate closer to us.

"What was wrong with Kenzi?"

Al shook his head. "Just a small case of missing someone from Amestris. She didn't tell me much after that."

Both Al and I knew who she was missing. To us, it was obvious, to Ling, he was oblivious.

"Will she be alright?"

Al and I nodded. "No need to worry, Ling."

"Are you sure?"

Al nodded. "Yes."

I sighed. "I wish I could let her go back to Amestris."

Al and Ling looked to me with the same look in their eyes.

"She doesn't belong in this world of politics, in hiding. Hell, she didn't belong in as many boarding school as she had."

"She wants a normal life," Al added in, totally getting it.

I nodded. "Always had. I am just hoping that my uncle Devon will die soon so I can let her have that life with whoever she wants."

"Do you have any idea who?" Ling asked with interested wonder.

Al nodded. "She does."

Ling raised an eyebrow with more question. "Who?"

Al and I looked to each other with the same question. Sighing, I looked to Ling, somewhat feeling bad that we were talking about Kenzi without her being in the room; spilling her secrets of what's happened to her. After an agreeing nod, we turned back to Ling.

"Al's brother, Edward."

Ling widened his eyes a little in surprise. "I thought...I thought that he was with Winry."

Al shook his head. "After the Promised Day, Brother and Winry tried being together, and after a year or so, it just wasn't going to happen. They stayed friends. Ed still goes to her on occasion for his automail tune-up. It's just like old times really."

Ling bowed his head. "I haven't thought about Ed in a long time."

Al nodded, completely understanding as per usual. "He's still in the military. Took a bit of time off after to study in the west, but he's a colonel. Mustang became a general."

Ling had an amused look on his face as he shook his head. "And Kenzi Lockert likes Ed?"

More like love, I thought as I remembered the way they looked at each other and how much she didn't want to leave him. I sighed, remembering how she didn't want to leave him. Well, shit.

"And Brother likes her," Al added in before I could answer, both confirming Ed's feelings for my younger cousin and my cousin's feelings to his older brother.

Ling chuckled. "And here I thought him and Winry were going to be a thing. I guess I was wrong."

"I can't believe you're still on that, Ling," I said with a chuckle as I looked out the nearest window, seeing the dark figure of McKenzi in the lit window of her room. Her knees were to his chest and she was crying like usual. As it may have baffled me that she was missing someone so badly even though they had just met, it still pained me to see her this way. It just made me want to get her home that much more.
