Chapter 9: Justin
I groaned, rolling over in soft sand.
"Finally awake?"
I extended my hand toward the serious-looking guy with spiky reddish-brown hair, green eyes, black shirt and jeans. "One step closer, and I'll have you hanging in the air. I've done it before to guys bigger than you."
"I'm not the enemy." He noticeably stayed where he was though, deciding against seeing if I really could do it. "My name's Blue. I'll teach you what you need to know from me. You're in the Pokémon world on Cinnabar Island in the Kanto region. This is your first Pokémon, a Swablu, sent from the trainers in Hoenn." He rolled a Pokéball toward me, and I could see the fluffy bird Pokémon inside. "Any other questions?"

Blue smiled, although it didn't look like he did that often. "Your friends are probably training with my friends this very moment, and no, you don't have to nickname anyone." He glanced toward the setting sun. "If they are training already, then you're falling behind."
I snorted, waving his comment away. "One of them is a natural with two weeks of Jedi training, the other had an extra year. Of course those girls are ahead of me!"
He had the decency to look surprised as I turned around to face him. "But that doesn't mean that I'm not going to give them a good competition!"
I opened the Pokéball and with a small smirk from him, training began.
