Disclaimer: I do not own Teen Wolf. This is for fun. Enjoy!

Kinley showed up the next morning with two coffees and two donuts for her and Stiles to share on the way to school. She honked the horn as she pulled into his driveway. Stiles came out a minute later with his books in his hands. He was putting them in his backpack as he walked to the car. He probably woke up to the sound of the car horn, Kinley thought.

"Morning," He said as he got in the car. "Ooh donuts."

"You're welcome." She replied.

"Thanks." He said with his mouth full of a donut.

Kinley rolled her eyes and laughed at him. "So did I wake you up?" She asked as she pulled out of the driveway.

"Oh no!" Stiles said and then quickly swallowed his last bit of donut. His demeanor changed from just waking up to terrified. "My dad woke me up and I've got really terrible, horrible, very, very bad news." He said frantically. Kinley just waited until he spilled what the news actually was. "Isaac's no longer a fugitive. Jackson took back what he said. So Isaac will be at school today!" He punctuated the last word.

This was the last thing they needed. Now Erica, Isaac and Boyd would all be at school together. This was dangerous. Scott and Kinley might be able to deal with the two werewolves, but now they were getting out numbered.

"Oh this is not good." Kinley replied.

Stiles looked at her as if to say, "obviously."

When Stiles and Kinley got to school, they raced to their first class to tell Scott. Stiles told the same rapid speech to Scott that he told Kinley in the car except Scott already knew about Isaac as Isaac was sitting kiddie corner from Scott at the time. All three stared at Isaac and he just smirked back. Kinley guessed this was going to be a long day.

Their first class felt like it took forever to end. Stiles had also mentioned he had done some research on the kanima and wanted to share what he found. The moment he went to tell Kinley and Scott, the teacher separated them for talking. Kinley sat and watched the clock tick by until the bell rang. The moment she heard it, she grabbed her things and met with Scott and Stiles in the hall.

"So what did you find?" Scott asked.

"Alright, I only found one thing online about the kanima. It's a werejaguar from South America that goes after murders."

"That thing was not a jaguar." Scott replied.

"Yeah, and we're not exactly murders." Stiles said and pointed to him and Kinley.

"Well, not technically." Kinley commented and then thought about the term murderer. She had killed her fare share of things.

"Right," Stiles replied and didn't know how to respond to that comment, so he ignored it.

"Yeah, and you did see it kill somebody, which is probably why it tried to kill you." Scott told him. "And it's still trying to kill you, and it probably won't stop until you're dead."

"Oh yeah that kind of makes sense." Kinley responded.

Stiles seemed annoyed at the assumptions they were making. "You know sometimes I began to question this 'friendship.'" Stiles told them.

"Look it'll be fine, you have a hunter and a werewolf looking out for you. Nothing will happen." Kinley tried to convince him. She patted him on the back. "Everything will be alright." With that last statement Kinley waved goodbye to the boys and headed to her next class.

The whole morning all three of them tried to find time to talk about the kanima, but the opportunities kept getting taken away from them. Either the class would begin the moment they all arrived in the room, or someone would come up and decide to chit chat with them in the hall. At lunch they were stopped because their table had too many people who shouldn't be hearing their conversation like Danny and Matt.

Finally, they caught a break in Econ, but not one that they expected. They all walked in a took their seats. Stiles and Kinley sat next to each other in the third to last row and Scott sat behind Stiles. Jackson walked in and Kinley noticed he seemed a little shaken. Jackson took the seat behind her and next to Scott which was odd since he tended to try and be as far away from all of them as possible.

"Psst." Jackson whispered. "Hey three stooges. What the hell is a kanima?" He asked.

All three of them turned and gaped at Jackson. How the hell did he hear it, Kinley wondered. They barely had time to utter a word about the creature this morning. All three of them were about to say something, but coach interrupted.

"Quick warning before we begin our review. Some of you, like McCall, might want to start their own study groups, because tomorrow's midterm is so profoundly difficult, I'm not even sure I could pass it. Okay, I need a volunteer to come to the board to answer the first question."

A bunch of people in class raised their hands, but Stiles, Scott, and Kinley were still trying to talk to Jackson without coach noticing. The coach scanned the room for volunteers.

"Who's got it, huh?" Coach asked.

Coach chose Lydia and she walked up to the board. As much as Kinley was focused on what Jackson was trying to say now that coach seemed preoccupied, she couldn't help but notice something off about Lydia. She had that same stare that she had right before Kinley saw her break the mirror. Lydia began to write on the board and Kinley decided that Lydia must just be tired. Kinley turned back around to tune into Jackson's conversation with the boys. Jackson seemed to be talking about Derek testing the kanima's venom on him. The person who's immune to the venom would be the kanima since a reptile's venom doesn't harm itself.

"...Paralyzed from the neck down. Do you have any idea what that feels like?" Jackson finished saying.

"I'm familiar with the sensation, yes." Stiles replied and Kinley saw the memory of the garage flash across Stiles face.

"Wait…why would Derek test you?" Scott asked.

"How should I know?" Jackson lied.

Kinley then remember that she was the only one that knew about Derek trying to give the bite to Jackson and him rejecting it, but still being alive. She never told Scott or Stiles. She knew she probably should have told them, but with everything else going on, it seemed insignificant. Now she was thinking this might have been the most important fact to be revealed to the boys. Of course, the boys should also have guessed Jackson would do something like asking Derek for the bite. Jackson had wanted the bite since he found out about Scott. Is it all that surprising that he went to Derek after he became the alpha? Scott would have figure it out eventually. She tried to interject into their conversation, but they kept talking over her.

"And now he thinks it's Lydia?" Stiles asked.

"I don't know. All I heard was chemistry…" Jackson trailed off as the three of them looked to see coach standing behind Scott, not looking very pleased.

"Jackson!" Coach yelled "Do you have something to share with the rest of the class?" He asked.

Jackson looked around and was at a loss for words. "Um...just my undying admiration for my coach." Jackson replied and smiled smugly.

"That's really kind of you." Coach replied as sarcastically as possible and chuckled. "Now shut up! Shut it!" Coach yelled at Jackson and dropped his fake sincerity joke.

The moment coach turned around and focused on the person at the board, Scott leaned over to Stiles and Kinley.

"How do we know it's not Lydia?" Scott asked.

Kinley looked at Stiles for an answer because she didn't have one. She really was the best target right now since Derek disproved it being Jackson. Granted, if Derek tested Kinley like he did Jackson, she would fail the test.

"Because I looked into the eyes of that thing and what I saw was pure evil." Stiles told him. "When I looked into Lydia's eyes, I only see 50% evil. Alright 60. You know, but no more than 40% on a good day."

"Stiles, that's not a very good argument." Kinley replied.

"But I swear it's not her." Stiles said. "It can't be. Alright?"

"I hesitate to agree because we're running out of suspects, but then again, I think I would notice if Lydia disappeared in the middle of the night as a giant lizard creature. I do sleep next door to her after all." Kinley added.

Kinley then heard a quick hard scratching at the front of the room. It was Lydia making the noise while answering the question at the blackboard. Her movements were jagged and quick, and the longer Kinley watched her, the more she realized that Lydia was not answering the question at all. She was just writing gibberish on the board as quickly as she could. Then she began whimpering and crying while she wrote. It looked like she wanted to stop, but she couldn't. Her hand moved on it's own. Finally, she stopped and turned around. Her eyes were blotchy and wet with tears. All of her makeup was running down her face and her body was shaking. The entire class started to laugh, and it looked like Lydia then snapped back into reality. Lydia then slowly turned around to look at the board. Kinley realized that Lydia had no memory of what she had just done. The evidence that she was the kanima was stacking up against her, but Kinley just didn't think it could be her. Lydia quickly moved back to her seat and lifted a book to hide her face.

Scott leaned over to her and Stiles and asked, "What is that? Greek?"

"No, I actually think it is English." Stiles replied and then showed them a picture of the writing on his phone, but he reflected it backwards. What Lydia had spelled out was "SOMEONEHELPME" over and over again all over the chalkboard.

The bell rang signalling the end of class, and they all headed to their next class together, chemistry.

"Derek's not gonna kill her without proof." Scott told them as they walked into the chemistry classroom. Kinley was still not a fan of this room since the night Peter tried to kill them all. The smell of the room alone always brought that night back into sharp focus. She forced herself to forget those thoughts and focus on the present issue.

"Alright, so he tests her like he did with Jackson, right?" Stiles replied. "But when and where?"

"I think here and now." Kinley told them. She pointed at Erica and Isaac who were in the room eyeing Lydia from across the room. Each one had a look on their face that made it seem like they were up to something. They were definitely here to test Lydia and if she didn't pass, Derek would kill her.

What was happening clicked in all of their heads at once. And they all moved to protect Lydia. Kinley ran to sit next to Lydia and so did Stiles. This put three people awkwardly at a table, but no one said anything. Scott has chosen a seat with Danny behind Lydia. They essentially had the girl surrounded now. Lydia would be safe for the time being. At least Erica and Isaac were at their own table away from Lydia.

Allison walked in just after they chose their seats and saw the awkward seating arrangement. Allison looked at all them with a confused face since none of them were in their regular seats. Scott shrugged in response to Allison's odd look, and Allison chose a seat next to the table that Stiles, Lydia, and Kinley were all sitting at. Someone would explain all of this to her later.

Mr. Harris then began class, "Einstein said that two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity and I'm not sure about the universe. I myself have encountered infinite stupidity." He said and then patted Stiles shoulder as he passed by. Stiles did not look amused at Harris singling him out. "So to combat the plague of ignorance in my class, you're going to combine efforts through a round of group experiments. Let's see if two heads are indeed better than one. "Or in Mr. Stilinski's case less than one."

Stiles looked like he wanted to say something but refrained.

Mr. Harris then scanned the room to decide who was going to start at the first table of experiments. "Erica take the first station." He decided. "You'll start with…" And before he could name someone every guy in the class raised his hand. This did not amuse Mr. Harris who was already an ass most of the time. "I didn't ask for volunteers. Put your hormonal little hands down." He told the class and all the boys sadly lowered their hands. "Start with Mr. Stilinski." Harris said.

Mr. Harris then paired the rest of the class. Kinley stayed with Lydia and Scott went with Isaac. Now for the rest of the class, they just needed to keep Isaac and Erica away from Lydia, and they would be fine. That should be easy enough, right? Mr. Harris just had to choose today for the group experiments.

"So are you and Stiles ever going to admit that you're together?" Lydia asked Kinley.

If Kinley was drinking something she would have spit. "What? Why?" Kinley asked.

"Because of that thing happening over there. That requires some action" Lydia stated and directed Kinley's attention to Erica and Stiles' table. Erica was leaning in close saying something to Stiles and had her hand on his leg. Jealousy flared inside Kinley, but she tried to keep it under control.

"Look, if he likes her that's his problem." Kinley said, but the sound tasted awful in her mouth. Just the thought of them together made her to her stomach turn.

"Oh my god, you're such a liar. I can tell. Those two that close is driving you mad. Why don't you just tell him?" Lydia asked her.

"Because life is complicated that's why." Kinley stated and poured blue liquid into the beaker Lydia was holding.

Mr. Harris then dinged the bell at the front of the class to signal the class to move to the next station. Kinley stood to move but said one last thing before she left Lydia. "Listen to me okay, don't talk to Erica or Isaac."

"Why?" Lydia asked.

"Just don't" and before Kinley could explain further Mr. Harris walked over and urged her to her next station. "Trust me, okay?" Kinley said as she walked away.

Kinley ended up next to Erica. She searched and saw that Stiles was occupying Isaac and Scott was with Lydia. They now had made it through two rounds and they just needed to make it through one more.

"What are you gonna do to her?" Kinley asked Erica. Erica was just staring nonchalantly at the front of the room where Lydia was.

"Don't you think the better question is what is she gonna do to us?" Erica asked in response and turned to face Kinley.

Kinley just glared at Erica and took every amount of restraint she had to not start a fight with her in the chemistry room.

"You know, you guys really are cute together." Erica said and then looked over at Stiles with Isaac. Kinley clenched her jaw and forced herself not to speak. Of course, then Erica just continued. "But you know, I've always had this feeling like I'm a little psychic." Kinley nodded at the crazy girl and was still trying to keep her cool. "See I just don't see you guys going anywhere. I mean if he hasn't made a move yet, when will he?" Erica questioned.

"You think you can get a rise of me by sliding your hand up his thigh in front of me?" Kinley asked her.

"Would you rather if be your thigh?" Erica asked and then placed a clawed hand on her leg. "C'mon girl fight in lab, it'll be hot." Eric said and then clamped her leg down Kinley leg. But then the girl jumped and hit her hand on the table. "What was that?" She asked Kinley.

"What was what?" Kinley asked and tried to sound surprised. She knew she did something, but she wasn't sure what it was.

"You shocked me." Erica stated.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Kinley told her and kept her voice steady even though she was slightly freaking out. So, now she had some electrocution power. That was just great, she thought. Who knew when that power would backfire on her.

Before Erica could antagonize her more, Mr. Harris dinged the bell for the last round of experiments. Kinley moved and tried to sit by Isaac, but she was too late, and Isaac sat next to Lydia. Stiles walked up and tried to take Isaac's seat, but Isaac wasn't going to move. Kinley and Stiles both stood there and didn't know what to do. Allison was the only other one who hadn't sat with Lydia, but she was keeping Erica occupied. So Allison couldn't help them either.

"Is there a problem, Ms. Wesson, Mr. Stiliniski?" Mr. Harris asked because they were the only ones still standing. "If not, I would like you to take your seats now." He told them.

Kinley and Stiles shuffled over to the only open table and sat down. Isaac looked back, gave them an evil smile, and then turned to focus on Lydia. Stiles and Kinley worked on finishing the experiment but kept an eye on Isaac and Lydia the whole time, which was probably why when Mr. Harris dinged the bell and said, "You should now be looking at a crystal," Stiles and Kinley looked down at what appeared to be puddy.

Mr. Harris began to walk around the class and look at everyone's work. It looked like Lydia and Isaac finished it perfectly. Lydia was holding a crystal in her hand. When Mr. Harris made it to the front of the class he added, "Now for the part of that last experiment which I'm sure you'll all enjoy. You can eat it."

Kinley and Stiles stared at their muck and both made disgusted faces. They then looked over at Lydia and saw her about to put the crystal in her mouth. Isaac was watching her expectantly. Kinley was pretty sure all four of them; Allison, Scott, Stiles and she realized what was about to happen at the same exact time. Isaac had laced the crystal with the paralytic poison. Kinley looked over at Scott whose eyes went wide and he quickly jumped.

"Lydia!" He shouted at her right as she was about to put the crystal in her mouth.

"What," She responded and the entire class was staring at Scott.

"Nothing." He muttered and sat back in his seat. He couldn't exactly say the crystal was covered in poison from a giant mythical lizard.

All of them watched, filled with apprehension as Lydia placed the crystal in her mouth and took a bite. She chewed the crystal and nothing happened. But that was the problem, nothing happened. A snake can't be poisoned by its own venom. So since Lydia wasn't affected, that logically meant she was the kanima.

The bell rang and the four teenagers raced out of class to regroup. Regardless of what Lydia might have done, Kinley couldn't allow Derek to just kill her. They needed a chance to figure out how to stop her, if it was her, and help her through it. If there was anything Kinley wished she had now, it was someone who knew what Lydia was and how to deal with it. Kinley had found some comfort in Deaton, but right now, Lydia had no one to explain what was happening to her. It was Kinley's and possibly Scott's responsibility to help her.

The four of them ended up in small hallway that connected the boys locker room to the main hallway. It was a basically a small room with two doors at either end. It was filled with extra sports equipment and random trophies won over the years. There was one small table and a chair as well. Scott said no one would be coming through here at this time.

"Derek's outside waiting for Lydia." Scott told them as they entered the room. They all threw their things on the small table in the room and formed a small circle to discuss their next moves.

"Waiting to kill her?" Allison asked.

"If he thinks she's the kanima, then yes, especially after what happened at the pool." Scott replied.

"It's not her." Stiles told them.

Kinley badly wanted to believe Stiles, but he needed to get the idea that she was a friend out of his head and look at the evidence.

"She didn't pass the test, Stiles." Kinley reminded him. "The venom didn't affect her."

"It can't be her." He reiterated.

"It doesn't matter anyway." Kinley said. "Derek already thinks it her. So either we convince him that he's wrong or…"

"...We've got to figure out a way to protect her." Allison finished for her. Kinley nodded in agreement with Allison

"Well, I really don't think he's going to do anything to her at school." Scott said.

"What about after school?" Allison asked. Scott and Kinley sighed. Neither of them knew what to do. "What if we can prove Derek's wrong?" Allison suggested.

"By 3:00." Stiles added which really wasn't helpful. They knew they had no time.

"Maybe there's something in the bestiary." Allison said. She was getting desperate and Kinley could hear it in the girls voice. Lydia was one of her best friends and Allison didn't want anything to happen to her. Kinley understood that and then looked over at Stiles.

"Oh you mean the 900 page book written in archaic latin that none of us can read? Good luck with that." Stiles commented.

All of them were hitting their wits end. Each wanted to protect Lydia, but none of them had a good way to do it.

Allison then looked up and there was a spark of an idea written on her face. "Actually, I think I know someone who might be able to translate it." Allison said.

"I can try and talk to Derek." Kinley suggested. She did have something in her back pocket that she wasn't ready to reveal to them yet. The venom didn't affect her either, and she was with Derek the night they saw the kanima. The test wasn't foolproof.

"What? No." Stiles said. "That's too dangerous."

"I'll go with her." Scott offered. "Maybe the two of us together will be able to get something out of him or prove to him that it's not Lydia."

"Fine." Stiles grumbled.

"Okay, but if anything happens just let Scott and I handle it." Kinley told the group.

"What does that mean?" Allison asked and seemed offended by Kinley's request.

"You can't heal like I do." Scott chimed in. He was all for Allison staying out of it.

"Neither can she." Allison said and pointed to Kinley.

"I've been training longer, Allison. I can handle myself." She told her and tried not to sound condescending.

"I just don't want you getting hurt." Scott added.

Allison ignored Scott and began rummaging through her bag. She pulled out a black metal rod with odd attachments on it. She pulled a trigger and then the attachments sprang out into a crossbow. She had her own compact, pocket crossbow.

"I can protect myself." Allison said and held the crossbow up for all of them to see.

Scott just stared at the girl with his puppy dog eyes. He looked so far away in that moment. Kinley could feel that warmth of protection coming off of him. All he wanted was for this girl to be okay. It was a feeling Kinley was used to. She again looked over at Stiles. He didn't notice she looked at him, he was still watching Allison and Scott.

"What?" Allison asked him. "Did something else happen?" She put the crossbow on the table and placed a hand on Scott's arm.

Scott looked like he wanted to say something but then pulled it back. "I just don't want you getting hurt, okay?" he said instead. "Seriously if anything goes wrong, you call me, okay?" He asked.

While Scott was talking to Allison, Stiles picked up the crossbow and began looking at it. Kinley was going to take it away from him for fear of him hurting himself, but she didn't. His dad was a sheriff. He had to have some experience with weapons.

"I don't care if your dad finds out. Call, text, scream, yell, whatever. I'll hear you and I'll find you as fast as I can." Scott continued his speech to Allison. Allison nodded yes to Scott's request. "We have until 3:00." Scott reminded the room before they left for their new specific jobs.

"Okay, ready?" Kinley said and began to walk out the door. Scott turned to follow, and Kinley heard a whistle and then felt Scott move quickly behind her. By the time she had turned around, Scott was holding a small arrow right in front of his face. She looked at Stiles who was cringing and holding the crossbow.

"Ah...Sorry." Stiles told Scott and then handed the crossbow carefully back to Allison. Kinley rolled her eyes. "Sensitive trigger on that." He explained and pointed at the crossbow. Kinley said nothing and just left the room.

Kinley found Scott at the end of the day, and they headed out to find Derek. Kinley followed Scott, guessing Scott could probably smell where he was. The two of them walked out to the lacrosse field. It was completely empty except for Boyd who was standing in front of the bleachers.

"I wanna talk to Derek." Scott told Boyd.

"Talk to me." He replied.

"I don't wanna fight." Scott said back.

Boyd moved from the bleachers and met the two of them in the middle of the field.

"Good." Boyd said. "Because I'm twice the size of you."

"But it's two against one." Kinley added.

"Yeah, and I am four times your size." He joked.

"True." Kinley replied and Scott nodded in agreement. Boyd walked closer and Kinley had to look up just to see his face. "Really, really, true." She added. However, she was not going to be scared. "But you wanna know what I think?" She asked. Boyd just crossed his arms and stared down at her from a foot and a half up. "We're twice as fast."

Boyd took a swing at her, but she ducked quickly. Scott then dove at his waist and grabbed it. He knocked Boyd to the ground with a thud. Kinley got into a fighting stance and the two boys scrambled to their feet. Before anyone could take another swing, Derek walked up.

"She failed the test." Derek told them. Scott moved back to Kinley's side and rubbed his neck. Boyd must have hit him pretty hard to leave him sore.

"Which doesn't prove anything. Lydia's different and you know it." Kinley replied.

"I know at night she turns into a homicidal walking snake." Derek retorted.

"I'm not going to let you hurt her." Kinley told him. Scott stepped to her side to show he wasn't going to either.

"Who said I was gonna do it?" Derek replied with a sly smile.

Kinley and Scott looked at each other and then back up at the school. They both realized that he was going to have Erica and Isaac kill Lydia for him. Scott went to run toward the school, but Boyd body checked him and knocked him to the ground. Scott landed flat on his back with a loud groan. Kinley knew she wasn't going to get by him either; so she stayed put.

"Now, I don't know why you two think you have to protect everyone, but even so, Lydia has killed people and she's gonna do it again, and next time it's going to be one of us." Derek told them.

"What if you're wrong?" croaked Scott from the ground. Kinley turned to help him back to his feet. He dusted himself off and they waited for an answer.

"She was bitten by an alpha, it's her." Derek said.

"You saw that thing up close. You know it's not like us." Scott told him.

"But it is. We're all shapeshifters. You don't know what you're dealing with." Derek replied.

"But I do." Kinley told Derek. "I know this thing doesn't happen often, but it happens for a reason."

"What reason?" Scott asked and looked at the two of them.

"Sometimes the shape you take is a reflection of the person that you are. Even Stiles calls her cold-blooded." Derek explained.

"What if she's immune?" Scott suggested. "What if she's got something inside of her that makes her immune to the bite which is why she didn't get paralyzed?"

"No one's immune!" Derek said and was becoming frustrated. "I've never seen it or heard it. It's not- it's never happened."

"What about Jackson?" Kinley asked. "And what about me?" Kinley pulled her hair off her neck and showed them the thin line that was left after the kanima's tail sliced it. It was almost healed but this one took longer than the other ones to heal. "See that? That is where the Kanima cut me the night we were in the pool, but I never became paralyzed. And you know I can't be the kanima. I was there that night."

Derek froze. He had nothing to argue with. Scott and Kinley were winning this.

"I have a theory. I think Lydia is in someway like me, but just doesn't know it, and that rubbed off onto Jackson somehow. You know that's possible." Kinley told him.

"No!" Derek yelled and ignored all the facts.

"You cannot do this!" Kinley yelled back.

"Look, I can't let her live!" He shouted. "You should have known that. Both of you should have."

"We were hoping we could convince you but then…" Kinley started and let Scott finish.

"We weren't counting on it." Scott said and then both of them looked up at the school.

Right now, Stiles and Allison were with Lydia, and they were sneaking her out of the school and back to Scott's house.

Derek then took off and so did Scott and Kinley. "Scott, you go and check on them at the house. I am going to go and see Deaton to see if he has figured anything out." She told him. Scott nodded and headed toward his house.

Kinley jumped in her car and raced over to Deaton's house. He had the clinic closed on Thursdays usually, and she knew he would be home. She pulled up to the curb in front of his house and parked. She quickly got out of the car and ran up to the gate, opened it, and headed to his front door. She knocked on it a few times and then she heard footsteps. The door opened and Deaton was standing there, looking very confused.

"How did you…" Started and looked behind her. "How did you get passed the gate?" He asked.

Kinley turned around and saw the gate which was now closed and was closed when she walked up. She just walked right up to it and touched it. She then remembered last time she was here and the searing pain it caused her to just touch that wooden gate.

"I...I...don't know." She replied. "I really wasn't thinking about it. I just needed to talk to you and ran over here.

Deaton looked away from the gate and back at her except he wasn't looking at her face but at her neck. "Come in." He said and they both sat in the living room like they did the last night she was here.

"Where did you get that necklace?" He asked.

Kinley looked down at it and began to play with it. "Oh, this." She said as she stared at it. "My uncle gave it to me for my birthday. It used to be my mothers." She replied.

A chuckle escaped him. "That's how she did it." He commented. "I never even thought…"

"Okay memory lane, either explain or answer the question I came to ask you." She told him and her voice was full of urgency.

"What was your question?" He asked and put his attention back on the present.

"I need to know what else you found out about the kanima. Derek is targeting Lydia, and he wants to kill her. I either need some proof it's not her or something that can prove we can help her control it." She explained.

"Well, have you seen her ooze black blood at all? I found out when an kanima begins it's change it kind of detoxes the body and the human will ooze black blood out of their nose, mouth, and ears."

Kinley thought back and remembered a tissue covered in black goo. That morning that Jackson fled out of the classroom, she had found a tissue in front of the boys bathroom. It was covered in black liquid. That was the day that Derek came to check on Jackson. Derek knew something was wrong, but he didn't know how wrong. Jackson was the kanima.

"Yes, that's what I needed. Thanks!" She told him and started out the door. But before she left she popped her head back into his living. "Also don't think I am letting you not answer the question about my mother. I will be back for that." She told him and ran out.

As Kinley left to drive back, her phone rang and it was Stiles.

"Hey, what's up?" She asked.

"You need to get here now." He told her.

"Okay, I'm on my way, but where's Scott? I left him and went to check in with Deaton. What's happening?"

"Derek, Erica, Boyd, and Isaac are all outside waiting for Lydia." He told her. "We won't be able to hold them off without you. Scott is on his way, but he can't take on Derek alone" He told her.

"Okay, I'm coming. Also, I have proof it's not Lydia." She told him.

"What proof?" Stiles asked.

"Deaton told me that before the person changes into the kanima for the first time, they ooze black blood. I've never seen Lydia do that, but I've seen Jackson do it. The other week when he ran out of class, I saw a tissue covered in black liquid. It was his. He's the kanima." She told him.

"No!" He yelled and hung up the phone.

"Stiles, Stiles!" Kinley yelled, but it was no use since he hung up the phone.

Something was majorly wrong, and she knew it. She got in her car and raced over to the McCall house. She probably violated every traffic law on the drive over there. She sped, ran stop signs and stoplights, and took illegal turns. She got there in under 7 minutes, record time.

As she got there, she saw a face-off on the front lawn. Derek was standing with Erica and Isaac on the ground at his feet. They looked unconscious, and Boyd behind him. Kinley wondered how they managed to get Erica and Isaac down. Then Scott was standing closest to Derek with Allison and Stiles at his flanks. They looked like a force to be reckoned with, but Derek didn't seem phased by it. She didn't see Lydia. She ran up toward the house and her friends.

"But you can't beat me, Scott." Derek said as Kinely ran past him and to front porch of Scott's house.
