It's me again, Akhil100! As usual, I bring to you a whole new chapter of Pokémon Blaze. Finally arriving in Saffron city, Aki and Flame are going to enter their second tournament - the Fighting Tournament.

Main Events of Last Chapter

1. Aki loses against Cheren in the final round of the Normal Tournament, making Cheren the winner.

2. Aki returns Togekiss and Aipom to the Pokémon Center.

3. Aki leaves for Saffron City.

4. Aki meets up with Z again and learns about Team Plasma from him.

Chapter 7 – Knock his Sawks off!

Saffron City

The large city was full of busy people and Pokémon. Today, the city had more visitors due to the Fighting Tournament which was going to be held two days from now. Gym Leaders, Elite Fours, Black Belts and other VIPs had already registered for the tournament.

Aki and Flame exited the gate and entered the city. Their faces widened when they save the large metropolis. They walked around the city, trying to find the Pokémon Center. At last, after a 30 minutes' walk, they finally founded the Pokémon Center which was already full of people. He somehow entered the building and made it to the counter, inching through the crowd.

"Nurse Joy, have the tournament started all ready?" Aki asked.

"No. It's going start the day after tomorrow. Are you here to join?" She asked.

"Yes"

"Well you're lucky. There are only 7 entries left" She said.

"Gosh, I was late. Can I register now, Nurse Joy?" He asked sincerely.

"Of course! Just give me your PWC Pass" Aki handed her his PWC Pass. She scanned it on the computer on her counter and typed something in. She then gave the PWC Pass back to Aki.

"Ok. So which Pokémon are you use? You can only use one Pokémon, you know" She informed him.

"Is is compulsory that I use Fighting-types?" Aki asked, remembering the Normal Tournament.

"Yes. Why else would it be called the Fighting Tournament?" She said.

"Well… The problem is… that… I don't have any Fighting-types" He said slowly. Nurse Joy smiled at him and said, "That's not a problem. You can take one from here." She then stood up and went towards the Pokémon Storage room, followed by Aki and Flame. She entered a password and the door slid open. The room was full shelves containing Pokéball, similar to the Vermilion city's Pokémon Center.

"Choose the one you like!" She said.

Aki entered the room and Flame jumped down from his shoulder. They then started checking the names below the Pokéballs. Machoke, Scraggy, Mienfoo, Sawk, Pancham, Makuhita… Aki suddenly stopped and took a Pokéball in his hands. The name read as Sawk.

"I know this one. I saw it on TV" He said to himself. He had seen a battle between Marshal and Grimsley on the TV. In the battle, Marshal had used a Sawk against Grimsley's Scrafty.

"This one's amazing" Aki said throwing the Pokéball into the air. A blue Pokémon wearing a Karate gi came out of it. It was meditating when it came out. It then stopped meditation and looked at Aki.

"Eh… Hi?" Aki grinned and waved at the Pokémon in front of him. Flame jumped onto Aki's shoulder and did the same.

"Sow" The Pokémon said quietly and bowed before them.

"So, you choose to go with this Sawk?" Nurse Joy asked. Aki turned towards her and looked back at Sawk for a second before saying yes to her.

"Okay, follow me" She said making way for Aki. Aki returned Sawk to his Pokéball and then left the room. Nurse Joy locked the door before leading Aki to her counter. She took Sawk's Pokéball and scanned it with her computer. She then handed the Pokéball to Aki.

"Okay Mr. Blaze, you're all ready to enter the tournament" She said smiling.

"Thank you Nurse Joy" Aki returned the smile and left the building to train his new Sawk.

Training Ground

Saffron city, like the Vermilion city, too had its own training ground where Trainers would meet up regularly for battles. But today, the training ground had more Trainers than usual due to the tournament.

Aki and Flame were looking for Trainers to battle, along with their new partner Sawk.

"First of all, let's check your profile Sawk" Aki said taking out his Pokedex. He held it in front of Sawk and it scanned him.

"Sawk, the Karate Pokémon. Sawk's punches get more powerful when it ties its belt. It gets angry when its training is interrupted" The Pokedex explained.

"I knew you had something to do with that belt!" Aki exclaimed. He then checked Sawk's moves.

"So you seem to know Low Sweep, Bulk Up, Karate Chop and Brick Break. That's great!" Aki said. Flame gave Sawk a thumps-up.

"Sawk, how about we get some training?" He asked. Sawk agreed to it. Sawk was a silent Pokémon concentrated on training and meditating. It always wanted to get stronger, making it a perfect match for Aki.

"Are you looking for someone to battle?" Aki turned back to see a familiar face.

"You again? What are you doing here Z?" Aki asked, getting a bit annoyed at Z's presence.

"If a rookie like you can wander out here, why can't I?" Z said, in his usual, calm voice.

"You still haven't seen my real power yet, have you?" Aki asked. Flame jumped on to his shoulder and imitated Aki's actions.

"How can I see something that doesn't exist?" Z had totally irritated Aki by now.

"THAT'S IT! If it's a battle that you want, you are sure gonna get one" Aki said.

"If you insist… Don't come crying to me when you lose, my friend." Z took out his only Pokéball, which contained his trusted partner Deino.

"Sawk, you have to amaze me" Aki said looking at his new Sawk. Sawk nodded.

Aki and Z took a few steps back and made enough distance between them for the battlefield. Z let out his Deino into the battlefield. Sawk too entered the battlefield and bowed before his opponent before taking a Karate pose, ready for battle.

"Just finish it quickly Deino. We have to get to Celadon as soon as we can" Z said. He had full trust that his Deino could defeat Sawk, despite the type-disadvantage.

"Then Celadon just have to wait" Aki countered back. He then gave his commands, "Sawk, start with Brick Break."

Sawk ran towards Deino then jumped up and came down to deliver a hard karate chop on Deino. Although Z didn't give any commands, Deino quickly used Dragon Rage which blew when it hit Sawk's hand. It created a small explosion which filled the area with smoke. Hearing the explosion, people started to come and watch the battle.

When the smoke started to clear, people saw Sawk delivering a Karate Chop on Deino. But Deino quickly dodged it by moving to the side. Although it was blind, it had super-human level hearing sense.

"Low Sweep!" Aki commanded.

Sawk quickly turned around and swept his leg at Deino who was near standing right next to him. Unlike the other moves, this one finally hit Deino who was pushed a few feet back by the force.

"Use Brick Break once more!" Aki commanded.

Sawk jumped up and tried to hit Deino with another karate chop like last time. "Bite" Z said in low voice. Before the super-effective move could hit it, Deino jumped up and bit Sawk's hand. It then swung and threw Sawk into the air.

"Dragon Pulse" Z followed up with another command. Deino shot a turquoise sphere of energy at Sawk who was in mid-air. Another explosion was created when it hit Sawk.

"Sawk, oh no!" Aki cried out. Sawk got up after the explosion, damaged severely.

"Finish it with Zen Headbutt" Z said calmly. He then started to leave the place, sure that he would win this battle.

Deino's horn started to glow pink as it charged at Sawk. Midways, Deino's body got covered in pinkish aura. It then rammed into Sawk, who got instantly knocked out. Aki ran towards Sawk and picked it up. He helped it stand up again. Deino turned back and followed Z who had already walked a few meters from the battle field. Z then stopped and turned back.

"Take it was an advice… Next time when you challenge someone, make sure you can beat them" Z said before leaving. Aki stared at him as he slowly walked at the horizon.

"You seem to know that child well" A voice told Aki. He turned back to see an old man looking at him. The man then came towards Aki.

"You must be thinking who I am or what I want" He paused for a second before continuing, "I'm just an old man living in this big city. The folks here call me Mr. Psychic…" A smile then appeared on that man's face.
