Akhil100 here! As usual, I bring to you a whole new chapter of Pokémon Blaze. This chapter is going to be long. Now where were we? Ya, I remember. Aki passed the third round and is going to battle a really powerful opponent in the 4th round. Wanna know who that is? Then read the chapter.

1. Aki advanced to the 3rd round of the tournament.
2. Chuck and Korrina also advanced to the 3rd round.
3. Mr. Psychic defeated Alice and advanced to the 3rd round.

Chapter 11 – An Elite Showdown!
Arena 1 (Main Arena)
Starting from the fourth round, all the battles were going to be held in the main battle arena with an interval of about 2 hours in-between battles. The first battle of the fourth round of the Fighting tournament was about to begin. Everyone took their seats in the gallery. Two Trainers stood at the opposite sides of the battlefield. One of them had a Charmander by his side. They took out their Pokéballs and waited for the signal to start the battle.
"Good morning to you all! I know that all of you are waiting eagerly for the battle to begin. Without any further waiting, let's begin the battle!" The female commentator said. The gallery erupted into cheers on hearing that.
"The battle between Marshal and Akhil from Unova is about to begin! Are the two Trainers ready?" The referee asked. The Trainers nodded in response. "Then let the battle begin!"
"Conkeldurr, I choose you!" Marshal called out his Pokémon which made the gallery erupt into cheers again. "Durr!" Conkeldurr placed the concrete pillars on the ground and waited for his opponent to appear.
"C'mon out Sawk!" Aki also called out his Pokémon. His Sawk came out of its Pokéball and observed his opponent. He then bowed before Conkeldurr. Before beginning the battle, Aki took a second to check his opponent's Pokémon in his Pokedex.
"Conkeldurr, the Muscular Pokémon and the evolved form of Gurdurr. It is thought that Conkeldurr taught humans how to make concrete more than 2,000 years ago" the Pokedex explained. Aki closed the Pokedex and called out his first attack, "Sawk, use Bulk Up!"
Sawk flexed his muscles and became more powerful than before. Conkeldurr did nothing but watch.
"Now, use Karate Chop!" Aki commanded. Sawk jumped up and landed a karate chop on Conkeldurr's shoulder. But Conkeldurr wasn't even moved by the powerful hit. Aki, Flame and Sawk was shocked by this.
"Try Brick Break" Aki commanded again. Sawk's fist glowed white and he punched Conkeldurr in the stomach. But again, it was ineffective against Conkeldurr.
"My turn! Conkeldurr, use Dynamic Punch!" Marshal commanded after a long silence.
His Conkeldurr delivered a mighty uppercut which blasted Sawk into the air. "Smack Down!" Marshall followed up with another command. Conkeldurr grabbed his concrete pillars and jumped up higher than Sawk. He then used his pillars to deliver another hit on Sawk which made Sawk crash into the ground with a lot of force.
"S-saw-k…" Sawk said in a low voice, trying to get up. But he failed and fell on the floor again.
"C'mon Sawk! I know you can do it!" Aki called out. Hearing that, Sawk tried his best to get up. He finally succeeded, but he was severely damaged.
"Impressive! No one has stood up after that combo in years" Marshal said.
"We have seen Trainers who is determined to never give up. This is just another example!" The commentator pointed out.
"If we can make it this far, we can also win this battle! Right, Sawk?" Aki said. Sawk nodded and gave him a thumbs-up. Flame also smiled at him. "Now, use Brick Break!" Aki commanded.
"Not again. Conkledurr, block it" Marshal wanted to finish this quickly. His Conkeldurr blocked the punch easily with the pillars. "Now use Superpower!" Marshal commanded.
With Sawk at close range, Conkeldurr grabbed him and lifted him with his huge arms. He then spun Sawk around a few times and then threw him at the ground. Sawk quickly got up and was confused after all the spinning. He finally regained his balance and then used Bulk Up to heal most of his injuries.
"This is our final hope. Sawk, use Close Combat!" Aki commanded. He normally used Close Combat to finish a battle. But now, he decided to use it early to weaken Conkeldurr.
Sawk used all of his strength to deliver a fury of punches to Conkeldurr. This time, Conkeldurr couldn't block them and was beaten up.
"That's enough! Conkeldurr, finish it off with Hammer Arm!" Marshal made his final command.
Conkeldurr's fist glowed white and he punched Sawk right in the chest. Sawk was blasted into the walls of the arena by the force of the punch. Sawk then fell to the floor with his eyes swirly.
"Sawk is unable to battle, Conkeldurr wins! And the winner of the battle is Marshal from Unova!" The referee declared. The gallery erupted into cheers once again. "There he is! Our winner… Marshal!" The commentator said out loud.
Aki ran towards Sawk and helped him to stand up. "You tried your best Sawk. I'm proud of you!" Aki told him. Knowing that Sawk is heavily wounded, Aki recalled him back to his Pokéball as it provided more comfort.
"You are strong kid" Aki turned around to see Marshal coming towards him. "But you are reckless too! That's your weakness" Marshal pointed out. "Anyways, thanks for the battle!" He offered a handshake to Aki which he accepted happily. Aki was a great fan of the Unovian Elite Four. But he didn't want to get beaten by one. After the handshake, Marshal raised his hand towards the audience and walked out of the arena with his Conkeldurr. Aki, a bit sad, too walked out of the arena with Flame.
Saffron Stadium – Lobby
Aki sat down on a bench and relaxed to think over what Marshal said. Flame and Sawk were also with him. They were in total silence after Aki's defeat.
"Why are you being so silent, young lad?" A voice asked him. Aki looked up to see Mr. Psychic smiling. "Can I sit here?" He asked politely. Aki nodded.
"What is it that is worrying you, young lad? Is it the battle? Listen to me, young lad, win or lose doesn't matter. What matters is that you tried your best" Mr. Psychic consoled him.
"It's easy to advice" Aki murmured. But Mr. Psychic heard him clearly.
"How are your Pokémon supposed to be happy when you are like this? If you blame them for lose, they will lose their spirit to battle" Mr. Psychic told him. Aki looked at his Pokémon for a moment.
"Charmi… Char-Mander-Ma" Flame said in a low voice. He knew that Aki hated losing to those whom he respected, especially the Elite Four of Unova.
"I'm not blaming them. I just wanted win that battle so badly" Aki said. "I know that Sawk had tried his best. I couldn't make it this far without him" Aki said as he gave Sawk a quick hug. Sawk felt a bit proud after hearing those words. Even though he had been with many other Trainers before Aki, Sawk felt a special respect for Aki.
"Well… I have to leave now. I have to prepare for my battle" Mr. Psychic said. "Best of luck!" Aki told him. Mr. Psychic answered with a smile and left for the training ground.
Main Arena
The battle between Chuck and Greta, one of the Frontier Brains of Hoenn, was about to begin. Greta, being a Fighting-type specialist, too had entered the tournament and made it to the quarter finals.
"The battle between Chuck from Johto and Greta from Hoenn is about to begin! Are the two Trainers ready?" The referee asked. They nodded as they took out their Pokeballs. "Then let the battle begin!"
"Go, Poliwrath!" Chuck called out his Poliwrath. "WRAATH!" Poliwrath roared as he entered the battleground. This caused cheers to rise from the gallery.
"Show him the meaning of power, Medicham!" Greta called out her Pokémon too. Her Pokémon was pink and about 4 feet tall. It stood on one leg and calmly waited for its opponent to attack. "Ush!" Greta said as she bowed before her opponent.
"Poliwrath, use Hydro Pump!" Chuck commanded first.
Poliwrath blasted a powerful jet of water from its belly circle at Medicham. "Block it with Calm Mind!" Greta countered. Her Medicham simply sat down and started to meditate. Soon, Medicham got lifted up into the air and a shield of energy appeared in front of it. The shield absorbed the Hydro Pump and disappeared. Medicham then returned to the ground.
"We have to go for physical attacks now. Poliwrath, use Earthquake!" Chuck commanded. "Use Confusion to lift yourself from the ground!" Greta countered again. She had perfect plans to counter all of Chuck's attack.
Poliwrath slammed its powerful arms on the ground to create a small-but-powerful earthquake. But Medicham used Confusion on itself to lift it into the air once again to dodge the earthquake.
"Wow, I think Greta is well prepared for all these. After all, she is a Frontier Brain" the commentator said.
"Set up a Reflect wall, Medicham!" Greta commanded. Her Medicham created a large rectangular wall of energy out of thin air.
"Brick Break, Dynamic Punch and Circle Throw!" Chuck commanded for a quick combo. He had become more thrilled of the battle.
Poliwrath ran towards Medicham for a punch. His punch destroyed the wall and hit Medicham in the face. Poliwrath quickly followed up with an uppercut that blasted Medicham into the air. When she came down, Poliwrath quickly caught her, turned on his back and threw her over his head, across the battle ground. Medicham crashed into the walls of the arena but got up and used Meditate to regain its consciousness after getting confused due to Dynamic Punch.
"You're tough, Mr. Chuck! But I have fought tougher ones!" Greta said with a smirk on her face. She then commanded, "Time for own combo! Medicham, use the punches and then use Force Palm!"
Medicham moved closer to Poliwrath and did a quick triple punch to his stomach using each of the three elemental punches – Fire Punch, Ice Punch and Thunder Punch. She then delivered a final Force Palm which blasted him across the battlefield.
"Use Hypnosis, Poliwrath!" Chuck commanded out loud.
Medicham started to feel that the swirls on Poliwrath's belly were spinning. She started to get dizzy after staring at them.
"Close your eyes and just sense him, Medicham!" Greta commanded. Her Medicham quickly closed its eyes and started to meditate. Medicham could sense Poliwrath's movements by sensing his aura.
Knowing that Hypnosis will not work anymore, Chuck told Poliwrath to stop doing it. He then made another command, "Poliwrath, use Dynamic Punch!"
"Medicham, dodge it and use High Jump Kick to finish it off!" Greta commanded. She knew that one more hit could take out Poliwrath.
Poliwrath ran towards Medicham and delivered a powerful punch. But Medicham quickly jumped up and dodged it. She then came down with the knee glowing and hit Poliwrath in the stomach to knock him out.
"Poliwrath is unable to battle, Medicham wins! And the winner of the battle is Arena Tycoon Greta from Hoenn!" The referee declared Greta as the winner. Her fans called out her name from the gallery.
"Greta has just proved that Frontier Brains are too far ahead of Gym Leaders! But we will see if she can defeat an Elite Four in the semi-finals" the commentator said.
"You tried your best Poliwrath. Don't worry" Chuck consoled his Poliwrath.
"Ush!" Greta and Medicham exchanged bows. She then congratulated her Medicham and returned it to its Pokéball. Greta and Chuck shook hands before leaving the battle arena.
Main Arena – 2 hours later
The third battle of the fourth round was about to begin. The battlers took their position in the battle arena and waited for the battle to begin. On the left side was the Indigo Elite Four member Bruno. His shirtless body revealed his strong biceps and abs. On the left side stood the Kalosian Gym Leader Korrina, who spun around on her roller skates and waved at the gallery.
"Here we go! We all waited for this moment. Oops! I forgot my popcorn!" The male commentator said. This made laughs to rise from the gallery.
"The battle between Bruno from Kanto and Korrina from Kalos is about to begin!" The referee said out loud. "Are the two Trainers ready?" He asked to confirm. The two Trainers nodded. "Then let the battle begin!"
"By my side, Machamp!" Bruno called out his 5 feet tall Pokémon with four arms. "Mach-Machamp!" The Pokémon exclaimed as it touched the ground.
"Blast off into the sky! Hawlucha!" Korrina called out her Hawlucha who took off into the sky and then came down flying slowly. "Lu-Cha!" Hawlucha said as he landed on the ground.
"My grandma once told me that Hawlucha are skilled enough to take down even a Machamp. I think she said that to make me fall asleep" the commentator once again cracked a joke. His jokes always received laughs from the gallery.
"Ladies first! Hawlucha, use Aerial Ace!" Korrina commanded. Hawlucha launched itself at Machamp at high speed and hit him in the chest.
"Machamp, use Revenge!" Bruno commanded.
Machamp suddenly became surrounded in orange aura. He then released this aura in a blast that hit Hawlucha hard.
"No worries. Hawlucha, show them your Flying Press!" Korrina commanded.
Hawlucha flew even higher and then came down spinning at high velocity. He held his arms in front which made him look like a spinning drill. Machamp tried blocking it but Hawlucha broke in through the block and hit Machamp from above.
"Again, Hawlucha, use Sky Drop!" Korrina made yet another command.
"Haaw…!" Hawlucha roared as it was about to use his well-known technique. He flew at Machamp and lift Machamp from behind. He then took off into the sky like a rocket with Machamp. "Lu…!" The audience heard Hawlucha's cry followed by them coming down at the ground. "Cha…!" Hawlcha was about to crash into the ground along with Machamp. But at the last moment, Machamp quickly got out of Hawlucha's grip and took hold of Hawlucha with his four arms. Now, it was Hawlucha who was under Machamp's grip. They crashed into the ground with a loud thud. The battleground became covered in dust from the crash.
"Did you see that guys? It's unbelievable! Machamp just turned Hawlucha's signature technique against itself! Simply wow!" The commentator exclaimed.
When the dust cleared, Machamp was standing fiercely with no serious injuries. Although Hawlucha managed to get up, he was badly injured and was exhausted.
"You better be ready, there's more!" Bruno said as he commanded another move, "Machamp, use Quadruple Combo Punch!" It was a special combo only known by Bruno's Machamp. Bruno's fans went drooling after hearing the command.
"Dodge it with Detect!" Korrina commanded. She actually didn't know what this 'combo' was. But she ordered Hawlucha to dodge it anyway.
Machamp pressed his palms and made a gesture similar to praying. He silently made that pose for a few seconds and they opened his eyes. His fists became covered in different forms of energy. He was using Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch and Focus Punch with each hand. His upper left fist became covered in light blue energy and his upper right fist became covered in electricity. His lower left fist became covered in fire and finally, his lower right arm became covered in white energy.
Machamp walked towards Hawlucha and started throwing punches at him. Hawlucha dodged the first few punches but was caught off guard and beaten up repeatedly by each elemental punch. Machamp finally finished it off with Focus Punch which blasted Hawlucha across the battlefield and crashed him into the arena wall.
"Hawlucha, no!" Korrina cried out from her side. She knew that Hawlucha could still battle. "Hawlucha, you got to get up!" Hearing this, Hawlucha got up, shivering while doing it.
"Use Roost!" Korrina commanded. Hawlucha became surrounded by white aura which healed him slowly.
"No way dear. Machamp, finish it off with Cross Chop!" Bruno commanded.
Machamp ran at Hawlucha with his arms crossed in an X-shape. Before Hawlucha could heal himself, Machamp hit Hawlucha with its crossed arms. It was far too much for Hawlucha to handle. So, he fell to the ground after the hit, with his eyes swirly.
"Hawlucha is unable to battle, Machamp wins! So the victory goes to Bruno from Kanto!" The referee declared.
"So my whole life was a lie! Where did my grandma even get these stories?" The commentator said. Once again, the audience burst into laughter after hearing that.
Korrina walked slowly towards her Hawlucha and helped it get up. She kissed him on his forehead and thanked him for battling. She then returned him to her Pokéball. Bruno walked towards her and offered to shake hands with her. Korrina took the offer and shook hands with him. Bruno raised his hand at the gallery which received cheers and applause from the gallery. The two of them then left the arena through opposite sides.
Saffron City – 1.30 Hours Later
"Where the heck is he?" Aki asked himself as he walked around Saffron City, searching for Mr. Psychic.
"Charmi… Cha!" Flame, who was on Aki's shoulder, said pointing at the Saffron Dojo. Aki looked at that direction to see Mr. Psychic exiting the Dojo. He ran towards him.
"What were you doing? You're battle is going to start in an hour" Aki said panting.
"I just had a meeting in the Dojo" Mr. Psychic replied. "About what?" Aki asked.
"It's about your friend" He said. Aki was a little confused about who this 'friend' was. "I'll tell you later, young lad. Didn't say that my battle is about to start? Come on. You don't want to keep the referee waiting, do you?" Mr. Psychic said leading the way back to the stadium. Aki followed him silently.
Main Arena
"The battle between Psychic from Kanto and Riley from Sinnoh is about to begin!" The referee said out loud. "It's Mr. Psychic" Mr. Psychic murmured to himself. "Are the two Trainers ready?" The referee asked.
Mr. Psychic nodded taking out his Pokéball. His opponent was a teenager in blue clothes. He wore a blue hat and he also took out his own Pokéball.
"This is it, folks! Saffron's pride and joy, our friendly neighbourhood, Mr. Psychic!" The commentator said excitedly. "And who's that on the other side? Isn't that Riley, the aura guardian from the Iron Islands of Sinnoh?"
"Let the battle begin!" The referee said out loud. Cheers arose after this from the gallery.
"Gallade, I need your assistance!" Mr. Psychic said calling out his trusted Gallade.
"Lucario, light them up with your aura!" Riley too called out his Pokémon. A Lucario was the best partner for an aura guardian like Riley.
"Not another Lucario!" Aki, who was watching the battle from the gallery, said to Flame.
"Lade!/Rio!" The two Pokémon cried out as they entered the arena. They took a second to examine each other and then exchanged bows.
"Gallade, use Swords Dance!" Mr. Psychic called out.
The blades in Gallade's elbows extended and he spun around for a few times. His body started to glow blue as jumped up and then landed on the ground with huge power that caused the ground to break.
"Lucario, use Extreme Speed!" commanded Riley.
Lucario tackled Gallade a few times at high speed that not even the cameras could follow. He then quickly stopped in front of Gallade and placed a hand on Gallade's chest blade. "Force Palm!" Riley called out a sudden attack. A huge blast of energy was released from Lucario's palm that blasted Gallade a few meters away.
"It's time for the attack! Gallade, use Leaf Blade!" Mr. Psychic commanded. "Counter it Bone Rush!" Riley called out.
Gallade's elbow blades glowed green and he charged at Lucario. Lucario formed a long bone staff out of aura and blocked the coming slashes from Gallade with it. The two fought for a few seconds with no one getting a hit.
"Change of plans! Gallade, use Teleport!" Mr. Psychic commanded.
Gallade quickly disappeared and reappeared behind Lucario. He then slashed Lucario using Leaf Blade. Lucario turned around to block the next hit but Gallade once again used the Teleport-Leaf Blade combo to strike him.
"Use your aura, Lucario!" Riley commanded.
Lucario concentrated his mind and tried to sense Gallade's next teleporting location. When Gallade appeared in his left, Lucario quickly turned around and placed a hand on Gallade's chest blade.
"Aura Sphere!" commanded Riley. Lucario launched a blue sphere of aura that went straight through Gallade's chest. Gallade fell to the floor after the attack.
"Gallade, you got to get up. Now!" Mr. Psychic called out.
Gallade quickly got up and launched himself at Lucario using Zen Headbutt. Lucario, who was caught off guard, was hit in the stomach.
"That's it! Now use Close Combat!" commanded Mr. Psychic. "Use Blaze Kick!" Riley countered.
Gallade moved closer to Lucario for the attack. Lucario quickly roundhouse kicked Gallade. But Gallade quickly blocked with his hand and pushed Lucario backwards. He then followed up with a fury of punches that damaged Lucario severely.
"Now use Psycho Cut!" Mr. Psychic made yet another command.
Gallade's elbow blades glowed light blue and he slashed them in the air, releasing blue rings of energy at Lucario. "Use Counter!" Riley ordered desperately. Lucario clapped his hands in front of him. The energy rings stopped in mid-air in front of him. He then widened his arms, sending the ring of blades back at him along with a light blue blast of energy. When the blast stopped, Gallade was left standing with a lot of injuries.
"Time to finish this! Lucario, use Aura Sphere!" Riley commanded. "Use Stored Power!" Mr. Psychic made his final command.
Lucario jumped up and prepared to use his signature move, Aura Sphere. He came down closer to Gallade while charging the move with the entire aura left in his body. When Lucario was about to unleash the attack, Gallade's body started to glow with pinkish aura. Gallade suddenly unleashed a huge blast of energy that blinded everyone in the stadium for a few seconds. The explosion filled the battleground with dust. When the dust cleared and the audience regained their eyesight, they saw Lucario falling to the ground.
"Lucario is unable to battle, Gallade wins. So the winner of the battle is Mr. Psychic from Kanto!" The referee declared.
"At least you got it right this time" said Mr. Psychic who walked towards his Gallade to congratulate it.
"That's two Lucario beaten in one tournament. Well, let's give our dear Mr. Psychic a big round of applause!" The commentator said. Everyone stood up and clapped their hands for Mr. Psychic. Mr. Psychic smiled at them and went over to Riley to shake hands. Riley, after helping his Lucario get up, shook hands with him. Mr. Psychic then left the arena silently with Gallade following him.
