Hey there reader, it's me, Akhil100 here! I once again present you with another new chapter of Pokémon Blaze. In this one, Aki is going to meet Mr. Fuji who tells him the tale of Red and Blue, two of the best Trainers in Kanto. You have to read the chapter to see what all secrets he unveils. But first, the usual stuff:

Major Events of Last Chapter

1. Aki learns that his family is going on a vacation to Kalos.

2. Aki returns Sawk to the Pokémon Center.

3. Mr. Psychic informs Aki that Z had brought an army to attack Mewtwo, causing it to flee to Kalos.

4. Aki learns that a group of unknown people captured Articuno.

5. Aki decides to enter the Poison Tournament in Celadon city.

6. Aki is blocked from taking a shortcut to Celadon city, forcing him to go through Fuchsia city instead.

7. Aki agrees to deliver a parcel to Mr. Fuji in Lavender town for Mr. Psychic.

Chapter 14 – Laid it Out in Lavender City!

Route 8

"Magnemite, use Thunder Shock!" A kid wearing glasses commanded. His magnet-like Pokémon began charging electricity and then released multiple bolts of yellow electricity.

"Dodge it and use Ember!" Aki commanded.

Aki was forced to battle several Trainers, one after the other, as he went through Route 8. This was the fourth battle that he had in that day. A Trainer named Tyrone challenged him to a battle with his Magnemite. But Flame made a quick work of it. Flame dodged the attacks and released several fireballs from his tail. The fireballs hit Magnemite one after the other and knocked it out.

"That's not correct. Thunder Wave should have paralyzed him, reducing his speed to half. He shouldn't be able to dodge those attacks" Tyrone said to himself, checking whether his calculations were wrong in his mini-computer.

"Well he just did. Maybe it's time you believe in your Pokémon rather than that machine" Aki told him as he walked towards the exit. He was so happy that he could finally leave the route without another battle. Maybe he was wrong.

"Hey! You there, kid! Are you looking for a battle?" A muscular man riding a bike stopped right in front of Aki, blocking him from reaching the exit.

"No… I was just leaving" Aki tried to avoid another battle. But luck wasn't on his side this day. "You are not supposed to say no. Get your Pokémon ready 'cause my Koffing here needs some exercise."

"Not this again", said Aki, letting out a sigh.

Lavender Town (15 minutes later)

"These guys sure make me angry. Don't they have anything else to do other than battle every random guy they see? I think they are getting paid for this" Aki murmured as he stepped into the peaceful town of Lavender.

Lavender town was mostly silent and peaceful piece of land. The only advanced building in the town was the newly built Kanto Radio Tower, which stood tall in the corner of the town. Right in front of it was the House of Memories.

"Now, where does Mr. Fuji live? Any ideas Flame?" Aki asked Flame. Flame didn't hear him as he was looking at the Radio Tower. Suddenly an elderly man came out of nowhere and began to observe Flame.

"Flame. Now that's a wonderful name. But there are better names than that. How about Orangescales? Or Spitfire?" The man told Aki while not taking his eyes off of Flame.

"May I ask who are you?" Aki and Flame both had a confused look on their faces.

"I'm the Name Rater. I judge Pokémon's nicknames. Your Charmander could use some better human-like names. How about Charlie?" The man started to list out some names to Aki. While he was busy listing out the nicknames, Aki and Flame backed away from him.

They went to the Pokémon Center and healed Flame. Aki let out his injured Charmander and held him in his arms. "You could use some fresh air" Aki told him. He then asked a random lady in the Pokémon Center where to find Mr. Fuji. "He often visits the House of Memories" the lady told him.

He then left the Pokémon Center and went straight to the House of Memories. The main entrance was open and only a few people were inside the building. But there was no one in there that matched Mr. Fuji's physical description. Aki went to the backside of the building and saw a graveyard.

"This must be the reason why they say that Lavender town is haunted" Aki said to Flame. He then saw an elderly bald-headed man with thick, white eyebrows. He assumed that this man was Mr. Fuji.

He went near him and cleared his throat to gain his attention. When Mr. Fuji turned towards him, Aki put up a smile and said, "Hi sir. I'm Akhil"

"Hello son, how could I help you?" Mr. Fuji said politely. Aki took out the letter from his bag and said, "Mr. Psychic sent me to give you this." He handed over the letter to Mr. Fuji. He opened the letter and read it. After reading it, Mr. Fuji looked at Aki for a second. He then told Aki to follow him and left the House of Memories.

Mr. Fuji stopped in front of a building. Aki assumed it to be his house, but the sign read 'Lavender Volunteer Pokémon House'. "Come inside" Mr. Fuji told him as he entered the building, followed by Aki and Flame. "Reina, we have guests. Make some tea for us" Mr. Fuji said out loud.

Aki sat down on the couch and examined the room. There were many baby Pokémon running around. He saw a Pichu, a Wooper, a male Nidoran, a Meowth, two Teddiursa and a Cubone. A girl then came to the room and motioned all the Pokémon to leave the guests alone to discuss. They followed her and left the room.

"What did you say your name was?" Mr. Fuji asked.

"Akhil, sir. Akhil Blaze. But call me Aki"

"Blaze!?" Mr. Fuji was a bit surprised after hearing Aki's surname. "Is William Blaze related to you?" The old man asked.

"Yes, he is my father" Aki said. He didn't know what the big deal was. Although his father was well-known in Unova, Aki didn't expect him to be famous in other regions too. "Do you know him?"

"Yes, yes! I met him a few years ago" Mr. Fuji suddenly stopped after that line. He then sank into thoughts. There was a moment of silence before Reina came with two cups of tea. Aki took a sip of his tea and decided to break the silence.

"So what does the letter say?" asked Aki.

"I think you already know about the attack on Mewtwo. We have to take defensive measures before there is another attack" Mr. Fuji explained. Aki raised an eyebrow. "So, are you an agent of some secret agency or something?" He asked letting out a small chuckle.

"No, no. But we do have a team of people who can work better that the cops" Fuji stopped for a second before continuing, "I need to send this letter to them immediately."

"Do I have to do that too?" Aki asked in a low voice.

"No, I have a Pidgey who can deliver this letter to them"

"Great. At least someone has a way of doing stuff without asking 10 year-olds to do it for them" Aki thought.

"Mr. Fuji, sir, could you tell me what you know about Red?" Aki asked.

"Of course, Red, as you might have heard, was the best Trainer in all of Kanto. He began his journey from Pallet Town, won against all the Gym Leaders, defeated the Elite Four and became the Champion by defeating Gary, or Blue, as they call him" Mr. Fuji explained. "But the best part was that he was 10 years old when he did all this."

Aki's jaws dropped at the last part. Mr. Fuji continued his story, "He also stopped Team Rocket's plans to take over the world. After that, he suddenly vanished and nobody has heard of him since then. It's been 7 years now."

"What Pokémon did he have?" Aki asked.

"That's the best part. He was one of the first Trainers to finish the Pokedex"

"Huh?"

"You see, the Pokedex had been just invented when Red started his journey. It was Red and Gary who caught all the Pokémon and finished the Pokedex. He is the reason why you have a complete Pokedex with you" Mr. Fuji explained. "But a Pikachu was his favourite out of all the Pokémon he caught. They also say that he had a Charizard as his powerhouse"

"A Charizard?"

"Yes, a Charizard. Maybe your little friend here could one day evolve into a powerful Charizard like Red's" Mr. Fuji said patting Flame's head.

"Probably not. Flame doesn't like to evolve. He like the way he is" Aki asked smiling at his best friend.

"Anyway, could you do me a favour?" Fuji asked.

"Here it comes" Aki hated running errands for others. But he put up a smile and said politely, "Of course. What do you want me to do?"

"I need you to deliver this letter to Koga in Fuchsia City" said Mr. Fuji handing Aki the same letter he just delivered.

"Alright, I have to pass through Fuchsia anyway" Aki said putting the letter in his bag. "So, where are you staying for the night?" asked Fuji.

"I don't stay inside much. But when I do, I usually stay in the Pokémon Center" Aki said.

"Don't put too much pressure on yourself kid. Besides, you can stay here if you want to" Mr. Fuji suggested.

"Would it be a trouble to you?" Aki asked politely.

"No, no. It's the only way I could repay the help your father have done for us" Mr. Fuji said smiling.

And thus, Aki stayed in Mr. Fuji's house for the night. He loved playing with the young Pokémon in the house. The next day, he set off to Route 12 where new adventures await him!

Done! I decided not to put in the Cubone story. It's just too mainstream. I'm also gonna link the story to Pokemon Origins and the main anime. That means characters like Red and Gary are going to appear in the story.

And one more thing, in the next chapter, the female lead of this story is going to make her debut. I still haven't fixed on a name for her. The next chapter will air on 18th April, which just happens to be my girlfriend's birthday, on whom the female lead is based on.
