Chapter 14

Our Taiga and Summer Vacation Part III

Secrets

"Akashi's house?" Kagami asked Kuroko, who had come to do his summer homework with Kagami. It had been a few days after the kidnapping incident, and Kagami had recovered pretty well. The host club members still came to visit him, but today it was only Kuroko. Kise said he had to go to Macau to attend the grand opening of another hotel in his father's hotel chain. Midorima had gone to accompany his father to a doctor symposium in Hokkaido. Murasakibara had to care for his cousins that came to visit him, while Aomine just said he was under house arrest after getting scolded by his parents for running away from home. Akashi was also busy with his training or something with his father.

"Yes. He invited us since his father will hold a party next Saturday," Kuroko said. "I think it will be enjoyable, right?"

Kagami smirked and nodded happily. "Anyway, Kuroko, since we're here, do you want to go for a swim? Tatsuya kept saying I shouldn't go, but I really want to go… Riko-san even said could go," Kagami pouted.

Kuroko smiled at Kagami and nodded. "Well, let's go then," Kuroko said.

Kagami grinned happily. "You can go first; I'll catch up with you."

Kuroko just nodded as he changed into his swimming trunks, grabbing a towel and his book before heading outside to the beach. Kuroko decided to settle down when he saw a familiar figure walking towards him.

"Aomine-kun? What are you doing here? Didn't you say your parents locked you up in your house?" Kuroko asked in confusion.

"I told them I need your help with my summer homework," Aomine said as he showed his bag, full of books. "My mother let me." Aomine looked at Kuroko. "What about you? What are you doing here alone?"

"Kagami-kun wanted to go for a swim, so I went with him," Kuroko said. "There he is."

Kagami smiled brightly in his dark red swimming trunks, holding something that looked like a surfing board in his arms. Kuroko and Aomine smiled brightly at the sight of Kagami's naked chest that showed off his firm abs and six-pack stomach. And he looked so cute with the bright and happy smile on his face.

"I feel really lucky coming here today," Aomine grinned like crazy. "Oi, Bakagami! Why did you bring a surfing board along with you?"

Kagami blinked as he looked at Aomine. "To go surfing, of course!"

They both watched as Kagami jumped into the water to ride the waves. Kuroko blushed when he saw how cool Kagami was. Both boys decided to sit under an umbrella to watch Kagami.

"Aomine-kun, did you know that Kagami could surf?" Kuroko asked.

"No…" Aomine shook his head as he kept his eyes on Kagami. "Maybe he learned that when he was in America." Aomine smiled fondly as he saw how excited Kagami was. The red head had this bright, infectious smile on his face, and it was so endearing.

"Aomine-kun, when will you tell Kagami-kun about your feelings?" Kuroko asked softly to Aomine.

"Huh?" Aomine quickly turned towards Kuroko.

"I'm just wondering," Kuroko shrugged. "I almost told him."

Aomine looked at Kuroko with wide eyes. Kuroko glanced up at him before returning his gaze towards Kagami.

"Don't worry, you guys barged in before I could finish my sentence," Kuroko sighed. "So, when will you tell him?"

Silence hung between them, as Aomine was deep in thought. He knew how he felt towards Kagami. But Aomine isn't the one with a clean track record. He remembered what Kise had brought up during the cultural festival. Everyone knew Aomine was the resident bad boy; just like they knew Kagami was such an angel. He was just too naïve and innocent for his own well being, he never realized how the host club members felt towards him. Sometimes, Aomine cursed Kagami's oblivious nature. It was really annoying. Aomine enjoyed his relationship with Kagami right now, he didn't want to scare the red head off and accidentally make him leave.

So he sighed and yawned. "Dunno," he said, lying down on the blanket under him.

Kuroko just smiled as he went for his book. "If you take too long, the others and I will go first," Kuroko said calmly.

"Hoh… was that a declaration of war, Tetsu?" Aomine lifted his eyebrows.

"Hmmm… Don't you want to know…" Kuroko smiled secretively.

"Well, fuck you," Aomine grinned fondly.

Riko and Hyuuga insisted on going with him to Akashi's house while the butler Tanaka drove them to the train station since Kagami said he wanted to go by train. It only took about two and a half hours to get to Kyoto, since Akashi's house was located there. Just after arriving in the station Kagami went to buy as much food as he could and several bento boxes, chips, drinks, and any other snacks.

He was so happy like a kid being brought on a vacation.

Riko and Hyuuga sat with Kagami, Hyuuga scolding him when he got out in almost every station to buy more food. But overall, the trip went well and Kagami arrived safely to Akashi's house. The party hadn't started yet, but Akashi kindly showed him to a private room so Kagami could change his clothes.

"If you needed me for anything, Taiga, I'll be in my study, last door to the right of this corridor, okay?" Akashi smiled. "You can rest now; I'll let you know when the party starts."

The smaller red head got out of the room, leaving Kagami and his two bodyguards. Hyuuga sighed as he sat down on the chair, looking around the room with calculating eyes.

"Well, it seems safe," said Hyuuga as he shrugged. He took out a gun from the holster under his suit jacket and started to clean it up.

"You shouldn't have that. You're still underage," Kagami commented as he watched Hyuuga's nimble fingers dissemble the Glock 17 in his hand and clean the barrel.

"So? I have a special permit," Hyuuga said simply. "Besides, I'm going to need it to save your ass from trouble. And we all know why your father sent Riko and I for the special training," Hyuuga grimaced when he remembered the hellish training he had went through.

The room was quiet as Hyuuga was still busy with his gun, and Riko was preparing Kagami's clothes for the party, which consisted of a smart looking grey suit and dark red tie. He had been told to wear something formal since most of the party guests were Akashi's father's business partners.

"Kagami-kun, put on the suit. It won't be long before the party," Riko said. "Hyuuga-kun and I will be waiting outside."

Riko and Hyuuga went out of the door, leaving Kagami in the room to put on his suit while still deep in thought. He was still thinking about his father's plan. Kagami didn't want to leave Japan, but he knew once his father had decided on something, there was no way he could change his mind. He had tried to discuss the matter with Teppei and Tatsuya, but both of them couldn't do much. Kagami had not told anyone about this, that he wouldn't be back to Teikou after this summer. Though Kuroko always came to visit and they did their summer homework together, Kagami still had not said anything. He didn't see the point of finishing it up since he wouldn't be here when the homework was due.

Maybe he just wanted to spend more time with his friends. He knew they were busy in the summer. During this time of the year was the chance for them to be trained as the successor of their family's business. At least that was what Kuroko said to him when Kagami wondered out loud.

Kagami was thinking for a while as he sighed. He finished putting on his tie and walked out of the room towards Akashi's study. He could feel Riko and Hyuuga's gaze following him. Kagami knocked softly on the door.

"Akashi?" he called.

"Enter, Taiga," Akashi said.

Kagami opened the door slowly and stepped into the room, closing the door behind him. Akashi smiled at the taller red head when he saw him. With curious gaze he stepped closer to Kagami.

"Do you need something, Taiga?" Akashi asked.

"Kind of," Kagami mumbled.

Akashi stepped even closer until he stood in front of Kagami and reached his hands up. "Your tie is crooked," he said in the same light tone he always talked in. Akashi took it off to re-tie it expertly. His movements were quick and precise until Kagami was sporting a perfect Windsor knot. "So, what do you need?" Akashi patted Kagami's chest and motioned him to sit on the couch.

Kagami sat on the couch, trying to rearrange the words in his head.

"Well, I just want to say something," Kagami paused and took a deep breath. "I'm going back to America when summer ends."

"Hurry up, Dai-chan, we don't want to be late for the party!" Momoi pulled her childhood friend out of the car quickly once they arrived at Akashi's house. Aomine grunted as he followed the pink haired girl. He wasn't really happy, and felt slightly uncomfortable in his dark blue suit. Well, he was more of a T-shirt-and-shorts guy no matter how many times his mother scolded him.

"It's not like the party has started, Satsuki," Aomine said as he walked into the house. Akashi had invited him and his parents, but they couldn't come just like Satsuki's parents. So it was just the two of them.

Akashi greeted them when they got into the front room, as the red head led them to the garden where everything had been set up.

"We're the first ones, Akashi-kun?" Momoi asked.

"Ah, no. Taiga beat you to it," Akashi nodded at the taller red head that was sitting alone awkwardly while looking around. Clearly Kagami still was not used to these kinds of parties. But the red head got up and smiled when he saw Aomine and Momoi.

And hell if Aomine didn't appreciate the sight of Kagami dressed smartly, in grey suit that fit him perfectly in all the right places. Aomine had to thank anyone who made that suit look sinfully sexy, yet classy on Kagami.

"Kagamin~! Wow, you look nice tonight!" Momoi smiled brightly as she hugged the taller red head.

"Uhm, you look beautiful as well, Momoi," Kagami smiled gently at the girl. "Hello, Ahomine."

"You actually can dress nicely, Bakagami," Aomine grinned. He leaned closer and whispered in Kagami's ear with a sultry voice, "How much I want to rip the suit off you right now~"

Kagami blushed wildly as he looked at Aomine and smacked his head. "A-AHO! We're not in the host club right now!" Kagami pouted cutely.

Aomine was still grinning like a maniac as he enjoyed watching Kagami's face go red with embarrassment. Momoi smacked Aomine's arms hard.

"Behave, Dai-chan!" she scolded him like a mother would scold her unruly son.

Kagami was still blushing cutely as he walked away to the refreshment table to get himself something to drink. He settled down with a glass of soda when the guests started to coming. Kagami watched, as everyone seemed to know each other and greeted each other. Even some guests talked to Aomine and Momoi, asking about their respective parents. Kagami pouted slightly, feeling lonely with his soda.

He had talked to Akashi about it. He had told the red head, and told him there was nothing he could do to stop it. Kagami was still reluctant to tell the others about it, and he asked Akashi to keep it quiet, and let Kagami himself do the talking.

From his seat Kagami could see Kise, Midorima, and Murasakibara had also come. They saw him, but before they could come over to him, some other guests decided to chat them up.

"Can I have some of your soda, Kagami-kun?"

Kagami jumped in surprised when Kuroko, as usual, popped out of nowhere beside Kagami. "Kuroko! Stop doing that!" The red head looked at his pale blue haired friend and gave his glass to Kuroko.

"Are you bored, Kagami-kun?" Kuroko inquired as he took a sip of the soda.

"Kinda," Kagami mumbled. "I never got used to these kinds of parties."

"Me neither," Kuroko nodded in agreement. "Let's go and greet everybody. Kise-kun had been looking for you," Kuroko smiled as he pulled Kagami's hand to join the rest of the host club members.

"Kagamicchi~! I missed you so much-ssu!" Kise gave Kagami a bear hug. "And I like the way you're dressed-ssu~!"

"Miss Kaga-chin's snacks~" Murasakibara joined the hug.

Kagami flushed cutely when he saw people start to look at them curiously while Kagami was being squeezed between Kise and Murasakibara. Midorima sighed as he told Kise and Murasakibara to release Kagami before they made a scene.

"Here, they sell it in Hokkaido, and I bought it without thinking. You can have it," Midorima said as he put a phone strap in Kagami's hand. It looked rather ugly, but Kagami still smiled happily at Midorima.

"Thank you so much, Midorima!" Kagami grinned happily. He quickly attached it to his phone.

"Wait… Kagamicchi got a gift from Hokkaido… I want gift too, Midorimacchi~!" Kise protested childishly.

"It's not a gift. I just happened to see it and buy it without thinking…!" Midorima said quickly.

Kagami just laughed along with his friends. Between Kise's whining, Murasakibara's demands for more cake, and Aomine's teasing, Kagami wasn't sure he could leave it all behind when he returned to America. He didn't want to think about it right now. He just wanted to spend more time with his friends this summer.

For now, he would let it just stay a secret between Akashi and him.
