De Sidere: chapter 4: Kaleidoscopic Resurrection

The night is lit with kaleidoscopic colors, mutated hues at first, then sharpening, brightening, more intensely than any stone lantern of the day could ever hope to provide. The walls in their single room shack reflected the radiance, its warmth a rainbow that literally brought out the stunning multi-grain lining of each wooden panel, still standing strong against the storm. It was as if the ramshackle building were being revived by the brilliance of light and power reflecting and warming its inner surfaces as it steadily protected its occupants in the only way it knew how.

The couple inside took little notice, their attention directed toward the actions bringing about the multi-faceted display. Each touch, each physical reaction, changed the coloration, the tones brightening and changing as each arc of their love dance built higher, yet again.

The shack, once an abandoned piece of aging architecture, seemed to relive some past moment in time, one deeply engrained in the walls, as they would have borne the only witness to the life once held and cherished between its walls. The crackle of a fire could barely be discerned, the heat of it never physically seen or felt, nor was the laughter, male and female, from a time long ago.

But if one listened close enough, they might have heard the residual tune of timeless love.

The rundown shack stood strong against the wind, its wooden frame strengthening as each facet of color exploded, the power of the couple's union healing the structural defects small bits at a time.

And unbeknownst to the couple inside, the abandoned shack had finally found a couple who's love matched that of one it had once protected eons ago, absorbing the ambience of a familiar power it had been built to shield between its aging walls.
