Aido and I neared the Sun Dorm, and a few feet from where we would walk out of the trees Aido grabbed my hand. "In case anyone is looking out their windows." He winked.

Portraying the perfect gentleman, he walked me to the bottom of the stairs to the dormitory, and turned me to him, taking both my hands in his.

"We have an audience." He said quietly. "That window."

I nodded subtly. "Right."

"Shall we put on a show?"

"I suppose." I sighed quietly, trying to mentally prepare myself.

Aido pressed his lips to my lower lip, gently sucking it into his mouth. I gasped, and he took advantage of the opportunity to deepen the kiss, his tongue making his way inside my mouth expertly, coaxing me to play along. After a few seconds I pulled away, pressing my forehead to his and trying to regulate my breathing.

"Who was at the window?"

"Takahashi." I didn't miss Aido's devilish grin, and I giggled a bit.

"Why does he bother you so much? He doesn't like me anymore, and he's dating Akane."

"Call it my possessive side. Even though he's dating Akane, I don't like that he spends so much time with you."

Possessive over his prey. Classic. My sanity sounded drier than the Sahara.

Don't remind me. I thought back.

"Sure." I sighed, pulling away. "Goodnight, Aido."

"Goodnight." He smiled politely, and retreated into the bushes.

I adjusted the strap on my bag before going inside, briskly walking to Akane and mine's dorm room.

"Help me with the homework, Akane-sensei?" I called out as sweetly as I could.

"Make me a tea and then we'll talk." She called back from the bedroom, causing me to laugh.

"Fair enough." And you set to work making the tea.

While I was waiting for the kettle to boil there was a knock at the door. I opened it to see Rei standing there. He was wearing a plain grey t-shirt and plaid pajama pants and his expression seemed disappointed.

I gave him a look. "We can't have a pajama party on a school night."

He rolled his eyes and came in. "I saw you and Aido-san kissing. How long has that been going on?"

I had had a long weekend, and I was suddenly tired of people grilling me. "I might be wrong, but I think that's none of your business."

"He's not good for you."

"Well then I'll dump him right now."

"Really?"

"No, because you don't know what you're talking about."

"Kisa-chan, he scares you. He scares everyone. Demanding your time every weekend, bothering you at school, pressuring you into public displays of affection..."

"There was no pressure." I assured him, smiling slightly.

"He's wrong for you, Kisa-chan. He flirts with the Day Class girls every night!"

"Flirting is different than cheating." I said. "He's a friendly person; I'm not going to tell him he can't talk to anybody."

Though I would bend that rule for a certain blonde, curly-haired vampire...

"He literally pressured you into a relationship so that he would stop bothering you at school. What kind of man has to harass a girl into being his girlfriend?"

Touché. My mind was against me.

"I realize that's what it looked like, but-"

"What are you guys arguing about?" Akane entered the kitchen wearing her nightshirt. She eyes Rei's getup and raised an eyebrow. "Are we having a sleepover?"

Rei ignored the comment. "I'm telling Kisa-chan that Aido is bad news and she shouldn't be with him, but she's not listening."

Akane knew that I was in love with Aido, not that he was a vampire. I'm sure the whole "relationship" ruse looked bad to her too. I threw her a look, worried about what she'd tell Rei.

"It's quite simple really." Akane said, gesturing to me with one hand, palm facing up. "Kisa had a crush on Aido and he found out, and subsequently took to bothering her at school. When he finally asked her out, it's been Kisa's wish to keep the relationship private so she doesn't anger the girls in the Day Class. She asked him to stop bothering her at school and hopefully no one else would be the wiser."

I gestured to Akane with both hands, looking at Rei, implying there was no further explanation needed.

Rei sighed. "You're a nice girl and you deserve better than a guy who plays with your feelings before deciding to date you and then constantly going around thinking he's better than you. I just don't want anything to happen to you."

I was touched. "Thank you for your concern, Rei." I bounced over and enveloped him in a hug. "Please continue to look out for me. Aido is safe. Trust me."

I was having trouble even trusting myself as I said it.

There was another knock at the door. Akane, Rei, and I looked between each other, all of us confused. We were all here; who could it be?

I opened the door to see Yuki standing there, with Zero behind her. Yuki looked around behind me and frowned, and I realized she was probably thinking about enforcing curfew because it was late and Rei was in our dorm. Zero touched her shoulder and pulled her back a little bit, which I noticed was a queue for Yuki to not pursue it.

"Matari-san, Headmaster Cross wants to see you."

"At this hour?" Rei was suspicious.

"Takahashi-san, may I point out that you're currently violating a school rule and should not be questioning the Disciplinary Committee but rather removing yourself from our sight?" Zero's voice was sharp and low.

Rei huffed and practically stormed from the room. Akane watched him go sadly, and then looked from me to Zero to Yuki and decided it was probably best not to question the situation.

"I'll be in our room." She sighed before walking away.

"Bring your coat." Yuki reminded helpfully. I fought the urge to roll my eyes.
