Emma sniffed softly, her warm but sad brown eyes gazing down at Jay's cars floor as he drove.

He glanced a few times at her and pierced his lips tightly together, gripping his steering wheel and finally opened his mouth, "Sorry." he says.

Emma snapped out of it and opened her mouth, but then gave him a wierd look, "Why are you sorry?"

"It just sucks.." drifted Jay, eyes hard on the road.

Emma snickered bitterly, "Snake sucks." she informed, glaring out the window as Jay tossed her one more glance with a small smirk.

"Some things don't always work out." Jay muttered quieter than he expected.

Emma looked over at him and her eyebrows pushed together in confusion. Was he talking about them? What the hell were they anyways?

"Where we going?" she finally asks, looking around the country road.

Jay sucked in a deep breath, sighing as he explained, "Somewhere we can be alone."

"Alone?" repeated Emma, somewhat mocking him.

He smirked over to her and she rolled her eyes but smiled and sat up more, adjusting her seat belt. He stopped at a small cabin and Emma tilted her head.

"This yours?" she asked, eagerly undoing her belt as he chuckled. He knew she'd like it.

It was small, but enough for a family of 3. Cute little cabin in the woods and a lake behind it with a dock.

He nodded, opening the car doors with her to get out, "My familys."

They met up in front of the car, the headlights shining on the wood cabin since it was still dark out and getting late.

She seemed to stop, and Jay admired the way she really did like it. He wasn't much for environment, but this cabin brought back good memories..

When life wasn't a shit hole.

"come on, Greenpeace." he teased, grabbing her hand and pulling her towards the cabin. He had to push his shoulder a little roughly into the door to open it after he unlocked it and Emma stood behind him.

Nobody had been here in a while..

Emma giggled as the door busted open and they finally got in, looking around and shutting the door.

"Little dusty." teased the blonde, running her finger on the old fireplace.

"Don't think anyones been here since my mom died." admitted Jay, walking around and trying to find the light switch.

Emma stopped and turned her head to look at him. His mom was gone? .. probably the first real personal information she's ever known about him.

Then there was light, a bit dim but enough to see another, and Emma blinked, looking around and couldn't help but grin, "you?" she nods to a picture hung up on the wall beside her.

Jay was rustling through a drawer in the small kitchen just 9 feet away and glanced over to sheepishly grin, but in that 'i was a cool kid' kind of way.

Emma giggled softly again and saw he may of been 5 or 6 years old, and he was smiling brightly. She hadn't seen him smile like that, not a lot. There was always mystery behind most of his smiles..this smile was just genuinely happy as he stood with his mother on the dock on a bright summer day.

He came back over to her, stopping near the dining table where there was a few candles and lit them.

Emma nervously crossed her arms and rubbed her shoulders, "Sorry about your mom.." she whispered, knowing he probably didn't want to hear it, but she was sorry.. it must of been so hard.

Sure she had both parents..but her real dad was a little.. preoccupied and distant that she kind of knew what it was like... but to be permanently ripped from a parent ? That was horrible.

He couldn't seem to look at her, focused too hard on the candle he was lighting and just muttered, "..was years ago."

Emma bit her lower lip and slowly nodded. Just the reaction she thought she'd get out of him. . she was use to it.. he wanted to know everything about everything and everyone but when it came to him, nothing.

Emma found her way to the back door and opened it, as Jay snuck to the fridge and bent down a bit as he opened it and grinned mischievously, "Jackpot."

Before going out the back door, Emma glanced back to see what he was talking about and saw him holding a big wine bottle, getting the cork off the top with his teeth as he turned to follow her out.

She laughed a bit and rolled her eyes. Classic Jay.

There was two long chairs on the patio next to another that Jay and Emma sat back on, enjoying the night view of the lake and Jay took a few chugs of his bottle, before offering Emma some as he scratched the back of his head.

It was good, to get away, with her. No A to rip them apart..

Emma gave him a 'are you serious' look, before shaking her head no.

"Singing a different tune now?" he teased, remembering when she WANTED to drink before.

Soon enough, he was chugging again and getting lost while looking at the lake again, good memories flying through his head but making him feel worse.

Emma glanced over at him, noticing his stone hard face, his eyes cold as he stared out into the lake. She snapped him out of it when she reached over and grabbed his bottle of wine.

He blinked, and sat up to look over with a 'knew it' grin, "Change your mind?"

"I deserve it after tonight." Emma said after swallowing a gulp and taking another small sip, both her hands around the big bottle while Jay only had to use one hand and smirked a bit at her lady like gester.

"that you doo.." he drifts off.

"Tonight sucked." Emma mumbled.

He naturally took the bottle back when she was done with it and held it in his lap, nodding and remembering his night. Boy did she have no clue how bad it was..

They sat there in agreement silence, and taking in the night, the country side of Toronto.. the silence.

Emma could still hear the crickets, and owls.

"It's quite here." Emma broke the silence.

His head was leaning back, eyes shut but smirked, "Was quiet." he corrected, chuckling when he received a hit in the arm.

Emma's phone jingled from her ringtone from on her lap and she gazed at it, but let it go to her voicemail.

Jay opened his eyes and glanced at it, then her. She seemed to just..stare at it blankly.

"I don't wanna go back home." she whispered out loud, and Jay could tell she didn't mean to say it, but it came out and she didn't notice it as she continued staring at her phone.

Jay dug into his pocket, knowing he was probably getting 100 texts from A or the gang and grabbed her phone from her too as he threw both of them into the night.

Emma gasped but then laughed a bit in disbelief, "Did you just chuck our phones away?"

"Who needs them?" he bittered but was glad to of done it, grinning happily at her and she smiled softly at that. He was smiling like in the picture... he was actually..happy here. . with her?

She knew it was a big move, but she didn't care. Before Jay knew it, instead of the wine bottle in his lap, it was Emma, and she took the wine bottle out of his hand to gulp it before resting it on the ground and leaning back over him, staring down at him as he stared up a bit in shock at her, but sort of impressed at the same time too. She seemed afraid, yet brave enough to do this..

Jay found himself almost instantly lost at her touch as she cupped his face with her small gentle fingers and she leaned down, her blonde hair falling around her face and though both closed their eyes, it took a moment to kiss.. some fear running through them, but then they finally carressed their lips together, and Jay kissed a bit deeper, and moved his arms up to hold her waist. The kiss turned passionate and Emma moaned a bit into the kiss when he sat up more, tightening his arms around her waist and pushed her body up against his and his mouth devoured hers. He was such a good kisser..

Emma noticed when they kissed, the crickets, and the howls, or any noise really just stopped. All she could think about was him, the bliss, and the kiss.

She had really fallen for Jay Hogart.

When they pulled away, her body was still against his, his arms wrapped around her and staring at another intensely..

Emma snapped out of it, hearing her ringtone go off from her cell phone whereever it was in the grass where Jay threw it and even he groaned.

"Whose there!?" they suddenly here as Emma yelped a bit and a figure was coming there way, flashing a flashlight on them and Emma quickly got off of Jay as he stood up and stood infront of her, protective like, until the light stopped blinding them and the figure stepped onto the patio.

Jay frowned deeply at the figure, "Bill.." he greeted.

Emma noticed Jay knew the man, the man who was a cop and eyeing the two down like fugitives.

The figure finally replied in as much annoyance, "Son.."

Emma's mouth fell. Jay's DAD?! Wow.. this was really the night to get to know Jay on a different level.

My love has concrete feet
My love's an iron ball
Wrapped around your ankles
Over the waterfall

I'm so heavy, heavy
Heavy in your arms
I'm so heavy, heavy
Heavy in your arms
