"I don't judge someone by how many times they fall, I judge them by how many times the get back up and move on"

Brian's POV

The tugging sensation grew stronger as the figure stepped around the corner. Spyro froze in place trying not to make a sound as I heard a familiar voice.

"So let me get this straight, If I help you return to your former glory. You will give me the power to kill the humans?" It was the same earth dragon that tried to kill me in the infirmary, I soon pieced the puzzle together. it wasn't a pretty picture.

"I don't care about the price I have to pay in order to restore you! As long as I get to kill the humans!" The earth dragon shouted, seemingly to no one. I wish it was so.

"Alright! Whatever! Just tell me where to go!" The earth dragon roared as he took off into the evening sky. I waited a few minutes before I dropped back down into the street. Spyro climbed out of his hiding place about as confused as you could be.

"Who was he talking to Brian?" Spyro asked me I echoed real quick to make sure that it was just the two of us.

"The Dark Master Spyro," I replied, "When I knocked myself out and he escaped he had to find someone else's mind to survive in. A mind full of hatred and greed for power would be the best choice." I explained before I opened my wings.

"Spyro, Get back to the temple and tell them what happened, I'm gonna follow them and find out where they are going." After he nodded I shot up into the night sky to begin my hunt.

Cynder's POV

"So tell me why we're here again?" Shade asked as the three of us entered the healer's clinic. She's been a lot more open to conversation, that was a good sign.

"Before we left, Ariel asked me to check in with the healer here and ask him if there is anything new. Illnesses, outbreaks, new medicines, Stuff like that." Amber explained as we walked into the lobby.

"Is that the reason that one of the Rangers called her 'Ariel the Caring'?" Shade asked again. I chuckled, indeed some of the Rangers called her that, they also called Terrador the Strong, and Volteer the Wise. I just didn't agree with what they called Cryil: Cryil the Stubborn.

"Hey, Cynder," Sparx called out as he flew through the open window, "Terrador needs you back at the temple now. Spyro says that Brian is tracking "Him" and needs us to be ready."

He didn't have to tell me who was "Him" and I didn't like it one bit. I thanked Sparx for finding me and took off for the temple.

Brian's POV

The sun was completely down now, allowing me to climb higher into the sky without being seen by the target. I flew silently through the night relying more on sound to navigate than sight. Gentle currents of wind guided my knew that stalking the Dark Master would be so relaxing?

Until I saw the temple, or rather, what was left of it after it fell from it's perch above the Well of Souls. The earth dragon and Malefor landed on a platform that bridged across to part of the temple that was surprisingly still intact. I climbed again into the night sky and flew back towards Warfang.

About halfway back I spotted a group of grublins huddled around a campfire. I didn't want to waste time on them but I couldn't leave them as a threat. I guess it's time to find out how fast I can fly.

I dived in for an attack run and pulled my wings and legs in reducing drag. I heard my familiar dive screech but about halfway down I felt as if I was being squashed due to the number of G's I was doing.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw a vapor cone form around my body, I pulled out of my dive at treetop level and braced myself.

The air around me snapped, a Sonic Boom. I was flying faster than sound now.

My pressure cone ripped across the forest floor reducing all the grublins to mere dust in it's wake as I tried to get up higher in the air so at least I didn't crash into Warfang's wall face first.

Spyro's POV

"Look! there he is!" Amber called out as Brian shot over us without slowing down. Odd, he can normally land on a handrail without a problem. What's stopping him? A thundering crack ripped through the air waking everyone in Warfang pretty soon I could hear the cries of young children and warriors who thought we were under attack.

"Unbelievable, Brian actually broke the sound barrier. Good thing he's on our side." Dixon thought out loud as Volteer gave him a strange look. "He's flying so fast that now he's faster than sound, so fast that the air around him "Snaps" like thunder. A sonic boom." Jim explained.

"Actually thunder is a kind of sonic boom, just not directed in a certain direction like this one." Dixon corrected as Brian finally slowed down enough so that he could land on the wall with us.

"Sorry about that, but time is a resource that we can't afford to waste now." Brian growled, he's ready for the coming fight alright. Cynder nodded in agreement, I guess it's settled.

"Show the way Brian, it's time to finish this." I spoke as the three of us took to the air. As we departed I could hear the roars of dragons and the cheers of moles and cheetahs cheering us on.

Brian lead us to what was left of the temple now once again suspended in the air this time by Convexity. The Dark Master stood in the middle of the stone courtyard more powerful than ever.

Except this time, I wasn't afraid. As the three of us descended, one thought ran through my mind:

Malefor, your time has come. And this time, this time will be the last.
