It has been awhile but I still don't own Blizzard so all rights to the story goes to them I just own the characters I made which is pretty much all of them
How long has this headache been going on?" the medic that was examining me asked.
"A month or so on and off" I say.
"A month? why didn't you tell anyone until now?" the medic said shocked.
"Its only a headache, its not a big deal" I say.
"Not a big deal? you passed out in the middle of training, if Tom hadn't caught you you would have ended up falling off that simulated building." the medic says quite angry.
"Any idea what the headache is from?" I ask trying to change the subject slightly.
"I have several theory's about what is causing them, until I figure this out this shot should help you from passing out today" she says as she hands me a syringe full of a silver liquid.
"Alright" I say as I insert the syringe into my body and take the medication.
I take the syringe out and get up off the bench I was on. When I was getting up the door opens and corporal Mark walks in.
"Doctor how is the recruit doing.?" the corporal asks.
"He should be fine, he shouldn't have any problems the rest of the day." the medic answers the question and walks into their office.
"Get suited up and prepare for a combat simulation in 15 minutes." the corporal orders me.
"Yes sir." I respond and leave the medical bay.
"This simulation is one of the hardest simulations we have, your objective is to secure the palace and hold it for 20 minutes, after 20 minutes ghost team green well land and take the emperor and his son to safety." Corporal Lee informs us
"If the emperor dies the mission fails, This is the ultimate test of your ability's. Suit up and prepare for simulation to commence." Corporal Lee finishes. I walk to the weapons locker assigned to me and open it finding my role is marine and sub commander.
"When the simulation commences we need to secure the path to the safe room. There are 5 points to cover to get to the under ground safe room, we well split in teams of 6. one group to each point and 1 to make sure no surprises kill him." The acting commander instructs as he is pointing out stuff on the map.
"After words we well all group up and hold the entrance to the underground bunker. Any questions?" the commander says finishing drawing arrows on the palace layout.
"Their well be tremendous Zerg pressure on us, I don't think we can hold the points long enough for the emperor to get to the bunker." A voice in the rear of the group says
"Anyone have any better ideas?" The acting commander asks.
"I believe we should stay as one big group, we move as one to the location of the emperor and escort him to the bunker. After he is there safe we can put a small force in their with him incase of Nydus Worms and hold the Entrance long enough for extraction." I say finishing drawing the plan on a separate plan.
"No, if the hall ways fall we could be easily slaughtered trying to get him to the bunker." The Commander says rejecting my plan.
"Alright everyone get ready the simulation is about to commence." the commander says as he signals the corporal to start the simulation.
"Bleep!, Bleep!, Bleep!, Warning the Zerg have taken the capitol, secure the emperor for transportation immediately.
"Alright everyone to positions now!." the commander yells as we head off through the door to are designated spots.
…
"Commander we have reached position 3" I say as we get into position.
"Alright. hold position we are almost to the emperors chambers." the voice on the other side of the radio replies.
"Rodger" I say.
"Emperor Mengsk we have to leave immediately, All Squadrons we have secured the emperor, moving to…" The sound of a wall crumbling replaces the sound of the voices, "Ultralisk!.." A voice on the radio yells as gunfire is heard on the radio,
"Everyone give me cover fire we cant…" the radio cuts out as a distant explosion is heard.
"Team 6 SITREP?" I say in the radio,
"…" no responses.
"Team 6 Status report?" I say again.
"Looks like the radios are out" A marine to my left says.
"Alright I am assuming command, We are going to meet up with the other groups and make sure the emperor is safe" I say. "Are first objective is to regroup with the other 5 groups so we don't get slaughtered, I well take point. Lets Move out".
The 10 of us step into the next long hall way, staying in front of the group I look at the map on my HUD screen, "According to last known Intel group 2 is in the next section of the place." I say as I lower my HUD and start walking, "I think I hear something" one of the marauders in the group says. I listen carefully and I can hear something faint "Zerglings!" I yell as I point my gun in the direction of the sound, 12 strange looking Zerglings run around the corner and head straight for us, The 7 of us who where Marines start firing as the 2 marauders are trying to find a good angle to fire, These Zerglings where unusually tough to drop, they had closed the gap by half when we only where able to drop 4 of them, "Everyone Stim!" I say as I activate my Stim and start forcing more bullets out of my gun, I watch as the Zerglings start to drop but not fast enough, 4 of the Zerglings manage to reach the group, 1 of the Zerglings jumped into the air like a reaper and landed on me knocking me over with the force of the impact, the Zergling bashes my helmet with its claws shattering the protective glass, With the Stimpeck still flowing through me I manage to punch the Zergling with more force then I should have making it stop its attack for a minute. Reaching down quickly I grab my Pistol and send 4 rounds through it before it can resume its attack. standing up quickly I grab my rifle and look for more Zerglings, Seeing none I ask "Everyone alright?"
"Recruit Anderson is "dead"." one of other marines says to me
"Dang it, Come on lets find the others before where attacked again" I order as I start moving for the door this time at a steady run with the other Marines
I open the door where Team 2 should have been to discover Team 2 is MIA.
"Alright lets move too Team 3 we should be about…" I stopped talking as I hear the radio kick back on and a voice come through it.
"Teams 3-1 what's your status?"
"This is Team 1, we have a man down, we are moving to last known location of Team 3" I respond in the radio.
"Team 1 this is Team 3 we are currently en route to team 6s location, we are located by the stairs moving to the upper level"
"Team 3 this is Team 5, Stay where you are, Team 6 is KIA, the Emperor is here with us, we have grouped up with team 4 and are 5 minutes from your position"
I hit my radio talk button " Group 3 meet up with group 4 and 5, Group 2 what's your status?"
No response
"Alright Group 1 is moving to the steps, we well meet up reroute"
"Rodger Group 1," the voice from group 6 responds,
"Alright everyone regroup with the others and be the first group to successfully complete the simulation"
After a short jog of about 5 minutes we run into the rest of the survival group, Meeting up I quickly count are numbers counting 2 Fire Bots, 5 Marauders, 3 Medics and 25 Marines,
"Everyone organize yourself in this order starting in the front, Fire Bots, Marauders Medics and finally Marines. The Bunker is about 7 minutes from here everyone stay alert" I command, Quickly everyone falls into position with Mengsk staying in the middle of the Marines. About 6 minutes into the walk something disastrous happens.
"Banelings!" a voice yells from behind among with some Gun Fire, I quickly push myself and the emperor to the front of the group, a second I hear horrible screams of pain and look behind me to find almost all Marines in the group where "killed" in the Baneling attack.
"You Alright?" I ask the Emperor as I try to access are situation
"I'm fine" came his response as I quickly count are numbers. "The 14 of us well not be able to hold the area for evac, We need to get to the underground chamber quickly and take shelter in there. 2 Marauders please take the rear" We run briskly to the room containing the bunker entrance, alright lets unlock that door I say as we step forward into the room a screech from a Ultralisk is heard and a wall gets shattered by the barging of the Ultralisk that is heading right for us.
"You Marines go get the Emperor into the Bunker the 10 of us can handle this." one of the marauders says as he locks the Ultralisk on with his Rocket
Taking a quick look at the Ultralisk and the Roaches behind it I quickly decide to follow the suggestion
"Marines lets open that door!"
The 4 of us and the emperor break off from the group and run to the shelter, I quickly type in the door password overengineeredcodpiece and open the door. Before the Emperor could get in I stepped inside to check for Zerg presence, Not seeing anything I say that everything is clear and step the door, "Everyone In!" I yell as I grab my Rifle and start firing at the band of Hydralisks the Marauders where engaged with. The Remaining Forces of Marauders and a Medic start backing up towards the shelter, as the medic turns to run an endless stream Zerglings run through the broken wall, The Marauders where quickly caught and surrounded, Some of the Zerglings where heading to the medic who was in a full sprint. "I'm Sorry" I yell as I close the Bunker Door and Locked it.
"What happened?" one of the other marines asked
"Zerglings, It was like and endless wave of them, The Marauders where surrounded and fighting a hopeless battle, The Medic wasn't going to make it in time to enter without us being killed." I say
"Now we just wait for Ghost Team Green Right?" a different voice says
"Yeah, Assuming they can even enter Orbit and get here safely" I respond
"Is the Auto Turret on? One of the other Marines ask to my surprise?
"Auto Turret?" I ask
"Yeah, Its mounted up on the ceiling, when activated it fires at anything that doesn't have a Dominion Key Code" The Marine who asks informs me.
I get up and walk to a council in the bunker, I see a label that says Turret and push it, The Turret activates and whines into life.
"Alright anyone have any suggestions on how to safely evac the Emperor?" I ask as I walk back to the group
The hole room is silent.
"Alright, We well have to get in touch with the Ghost team as soon as possible then" I say.
I start getting this weird feeling in my head like something was trying to communicate, I focus for a moment and I hear a single word, Worms
"Nydus Worms!" I say as I draw my rifle and point it at the ground, "Emperor please get into the far corner we well give you as much cover as we can" I say
"What are you talking about I don't…"
Suddenly 3 Nydus Worms pop up from the ground and Banelings start to pop out.
as I fire my Rifle at the closet Baneling, Something comes over me and I let out a yell, as I yell I feel a burst of energy and for some reason all the Banelings stop like they are paralyzed. Acting quickly we manage to handle 3 of them however the rest start moving again and make impact. I let out a yell of pain and fall to the ground "dead"
