"SOMETHING HAPPENED TO BRIARLIGHT!"

Millie screeched around ThunderClan camp, while Lionblaze and his three kits looked freaked out from Leafpool's disappearance.

"SILENCE!"

All of ThunderClan hushed and looked toward their leader.

"SILENCE!"

Corey blinked his eyes open and nudged Laney's sleeping body.

"Wha?" Laney whispered.

"Wake the others up!" Corey said.

Laney got up alongside Corey and kicked Larry, Kin, and Kim while Corey woke up Kon and Konnie.

"Where's Carrie?!" Larry gasped with crazy eyes.

"Move, and we'll find out!" Kim snapped.

The seven apprentices joined the crowd of outraged cats. Corey studied what was going on around him: Millie was pacing back and forth in a panic, Rosepetal and Lilyheart emerged from the Nursery, Dovewing glared as Bumblestripe walked to Rosepetal's side, Cinderheart's kits were agitated and pacing around their mother, and the elders Graystripe and Sandstorm were growling in fear of their kits.

And most of all, Dewdrop was sitting between Berrynose and Cherryfall, his fur riled.

Carrie and Blossomfall showed up last, Blossomfall completely ignoring her mother's behavior.

"Where's Squirrelflight?!" Bramblestar growled.

Thornclaw broke away from the crowd and looked into the Nursery.

"She's not in camp!" Thornclaw cried. "SHE'S MISSING TOO!"

Corey noticed Carrie and Blossomfall acted indifferent till now, they exchanged alarmed glances hearing of Squirrelflight's disappearance.

They knew something of Leafpool and Briarlight's absence, they don't go on hunting patrols, so how would they go missing?

Bramblestar's wild amber eyes flickered from left to right.

"EVERYONE! We must send five search patrols and two hunting patrols." Bramblestar roared. "Thornclaw, I want each search patrol to consist of five cats. One patrol going to ShadowClan, one going to WindClan, one going to RiverClan, one going to the Twolegplace beyond RiverClan, and one going beyond the Moonpool! LET'S GO!"

Corey stood at a standstill as cats ran around to Thornclaw, cats such as Dewfall and Lionblaze were quick to volunteer.

"Bramblestar! What if this is a trap?!" Berrynose cried.

"I DON'T care!" Bramblestar growled. "Do you dare challenge your leader?! Go to Thornclaw, NOW!"

"Whitewing, you lead a patrol consisting of Berrynose, Beetlepaw, Adderpaw, and Soulpaw." Thornclaw growled. "You're taking WindClan, GO!"

"Thornclaw told me we're supposed to go into WindClan territory and-"

Corey blocked out Whitewing's talking, a thrill of fear and horror took place of his mind as he saw it.

Leafpool's body, and Briarlight's as well. They were mutilated beyond recognition.

"WHITEWING!" Corey screeched. He felt traumitized as he fell back against another body. It was only his luck.

Squirrelflight.

Corey screamed louder than he did before, tripping against the triangle of the three corpses.

Whitewing wailed as she saw the bodies, Berrynose and Beetlepaw screamed and stood back.

Laney's eyes were hollow, her mouth dropped and she fell.

"LANEY!" Corey cried. "I'm going back to tell them!"

Corey ran to ThunderClan camp fortunately before any more search patrols left.

"STOP, WE FOUND THEM!" Corey cried. "THEY'RE DEAD!"

"NO!" Millie wailed, falling to the ground.

"All three?" Hollypaw squeaked.

"...yes." Corey said.

Bramblestar looked up from comforting his kits. They started shaking.

"Squirrelflight is dead?" Bramblestar whispered. "You saw...all three of their bodies?"

"Yes, I did. Adderpaw passed out as well." Corey explained.

"THORNCLAW!" Bramblestar snapped. "You, Graystripe, Sandstorm, and Purdy carry the bodies back."

"Yes, Bramblestar." Thornclaw meowed. "YOU HEARD HIM!"

Corey stood in front of Bramblestar, his grieving body shook and even his kits looked concerned.

"Our Mom is dead!" Dustkit wailed. Badgerkit pressed his head against his father's shoulder.

Corey brought Firekit close with his blue tail, Firekit pressed herself against Corey's leg.

"I can't believe she's gone." Firekit squeaked.

"Me neither." Corey sighed. "Bramblestar, I'm truly sorry."

"You've only known us for barely more than a moon! How could you understand?!" Bramblestar growled, his face hot with tears.

"I never said I did." Corey whispered. "They're back."

Corey saw Thornclaw and Sandstorm carry Squirrelflight's body on their shoulders, while Graystripe and Whitewing had Briarlight on their shoulders. Last but not least, Purdy and Berrynose had Leafpool's body on their shoulders.

"Did you leave Beetlepaw with Adderpaw?!" Corey growled at Whitewing as her and Graystripe placed Briarlight's body on the ground.

"Yes, why's there a problem with that?" Whitewing asked.

Corey bared his fangs at Whitewing and took off.

"I KNEW you liked her!" Whitewing cried as he was running away.

Corey ran to Larry and Laney, whom were chatting.

"Aren't you two supposed to be back at camp?" Corey glared at Larry.

"You're not leader." Laney lashed her tail. "So what if I passed out?"

"I don't care about that! You two should've gone back to camp as soon as Laney was on her paws!" Corey growled.

"You don't tell Laney what to do!" Larry hissed.

"Three cats are dead, and you choose to-"

"ENOUGH, WE'RE GOING!" Laney growled, she shoved her way passed Corey and Larry followed.

Larry and Corey glared at each other before Larry broke away and followed Laney. Corey followed.

He had an angry look on his face before he blinked in shock.

Am I jealous?

Corey caught a mouse on the way back and crawled into the Nursery.

"Anyone?"

Ivypool, Rosepetal, and Lilyheart glanced at one another.

"We can split it." Ivypool suggested as Meadowkit and Bravekit were nursing. She took the mouse and cut it into thirds.

"Thank you." Rosepetal and Lilyheart purred in unison. Corey left.

But not before catching Ivypool's hollow eyes.

Corey came out just in time to see the elders and Thornclaw dragging out the bodies.

Millie was being comforted by Lionblaze and Jayfeather, the kits lead Bramblestar to his den, and Konnie was counselling a shocked Kon.

Corey flinched in pain when he saw Laney look away from him and chose to talk to Carrie and Kim instead.

Then, Corey saw Dewdrop and Blossomfall chat. The elders passed them, still dragging out the bodies.

Dewdrop didn't give Briarlight a single glance.
