"It's not him. He didn't do it."
The man's name is Hashimoto. He called Naoto—the police first, and Naoto right after. The police have already interrogated him.
Now it's Naoto's turn.
"At the least, you understand his absence is suspicious," Naoto says. "You said yourself you expected him to be here."
Hashimoto scowls. "He didn't do it," he says again. "I'm sure—and you two know it too."
It's a weird thing to say, but then Naoto glances at Yousuke sideways, just for a moment, and Yousuke suddenly realizes: Here's someone else he's supposed to know.
"Nevertheless," Naoto says.
