Chapter 12

"So is that tiger dangerous?" one of the girls asked Kaito as she clung on to him like a tree as they looked at the white tiger staring back at them. It yawned, showing it's gleaming sharp deadly fangs that protruded out of it's mouth, dripping with the blood of it's last meal.

"It may be my love, my princess " Kaito said in a gentle tone, his breath close to her ear as she melted in front of him, "But even so, I will put my life on the line to keep you safe," he kissed her hand as he was bent down on one knee.

"Lucky," the other girls' whispers echoed through the air.

Meanwhile

"Is this the first time you guys have been to the zoo?" a girl asked the triplets as they all approached the bird aviary. Flocks of assorted bird flew around their small environment, colours flying everywhere, loud screeching filled the air as the group awed in excitement over the birds.

"We have once…" Kakashi began as he smiled to her stepping up to her right.

"It was a safari actually," Takashi corrected him stepping up to her left.

"Let's play spot the bird,' Toga clapped in excitement as he and the girls began to walk ahead of Kakashi and Takashi.

"He seems awfully chirpy," Kakashi commented as they watched their brother's movements.

"Even more than usual," Takashi shrugged.

Meanwhile

"So which duck do you prefer Raiko? " a girl asked while at the baby animal farm, her dark brown bangs hanging from the roof of her hair. Tiny small yellow feathered ducks, quacked around in a small heated cage while with a small pool.

Raiko looked at the ducks with Kazuya beside him. One caught his eye. A small webbed sickly looking duck that limped on it's foot. The owner of the ducks were handing out worms to each one, the little duck stuck it's head up and waddled over with it's wings flapping around. The owner shook his head, then pushed it away softly with the back of his hand.

"I reckon that one," Raiko said sweetly as he pointed to the little duck who stood waiting for a meal. Kazuya nodded.

"That one?" the girl asked surprised. "Why?"

'Because it reminds me of someone I know,' Raiko said with a cute grin, his smile melting the hearts of the girls who looked at him in awe, "Don't you think it is cute. I love cute things."

The girls looked at him. "Ohhh…." They squealed as he turned back to watch the little duckling.

Meanwhile

"So this is where my brothers have laid to rest?" Juniper laughed as his eyes bulged at the snake enclosure, his hands spread across the glass, wrapping it in a hug. Snakes hissed at him in defence, baring their needle like teeth, white bristle teeth, dripping with coated poison , their scales shimmering like the ocean by the u-v ray lights. "Hello my pretties, would you like one of me coffins? They are very nice, very nice indeed for someone of your breed."

He was in a cove where at the end was the snake pen, the outside world and the low level lights hardly filled the room with warmth, just coldness.

"You do know that snakes don't need coffins," one of the boys who had his arm hooked around Sakura said as they walked up to him.

"Aren't they beautiful?" Juniper said drooling over the snakes, his claw like fingers trailing the beauty of the snakes through the glass. "One bite, all it would take, one single glorified bite."

"You are way too scary sometimes," Sakura laughed lightly as she watched the undertaker take fascination. She turned to the boy and snuggled into his shoulder. "You won't let the snake hurt me right." He looked into her void like eyes and gulped.

"Of course not," he laughed half-heartedly to her. "I just…" he took a step back. "Remembered I have a very important appointment, see you," the boy ran off out of the place while Sakura brushed herself off.

"Well that was easy," she chuckled as she walked up to Juniper, his expression had changed and it was more of a sad, depressed look. "What is it?"

"Something bad is going to happen," Juniper drearily said not keeping his eyes off the snakes. "Something that will break this club into pieces."

"Juniper…." Sakura put her hand on his shoulder and slightly shook him. "What makes you say that?"

"The snakes," Juniper said in a trance like state, slowly swaying like the snake who was straight right back, "The snake knows all."

"What are you two doing?" Ichigo sharply snapped at them from the side of the snake enclosure, his glasses sliding downwards off his nose as he placed his middle finger on his temple. "You are meant to be entertaining guests not prancing like it is a holiday."

"Hate to burst your bubble, Mr Business man," Kakashi began as the triplets walked in.

"But technically it is…." Takashi continued, correcting Ichigo's speech.

"Our holiday," Toga finished. They crossed their arms in time and walked over to Juniper who was still in a trance like state.

"What's wrong with him?" the triplets asked together in unison to Sakura.

"The snakes know all,"Juniper said with his low and soft. "The snakes will bind us," then the cage glass cracked and the lights went black.

Sakura couldn't see a thing as she stumbled around the place, as blind as a mole. She could hear the snakes hissing, the host club shouting at each other, Juniper saying his morals in a low trembling voice. Hissing snakes, glass breaking, lights turning off and on in a violent manner.

Then she heard a hiss by her foot, she looked down to find a gleaming set of bright yellow eyes staring back in the darkness like a beacon. Juniper's earlier word about snake bites chilled her, she stayed still as she hoped the creature would slither away, back to it's hole.

Suddenly someone knocked her out of the way, landing beside her quite hard against the hard cold, grey concrete as they both fell to the floor. The creature hissed, she heard it slither off to hurt another person.

The lights then turned on to full bright light, Sakura looked over and gasped to see the person who had saved her from an awful end.

'Toga?' Kakashi and Takashi said strolling up to Toga who laid on the floor beside Sakura. 'What are you doing?'

Toga was unresponsive, Sakura got up on her knees and started to shake his shoulder lightly. 'Hey Toga?'

It took little while for Toga to wake, as he groaned and got to his elbows, he coughedas a bead of sweat rolled down his forehead. "You alright?"

"Are you alright?" Sakura replied.

They looked into each other's eyes for a moment, getting lost in pools of life.

"I hate to disturb the newly found couple," Raiko's voice cut through the ties making everyone look at him.

"Couple?" Sakura and Toga shouted is disgust at him.

"Toga helped me, that's it," Sakura shouted at Raiko.

"Whatever," Raiko said dismissing them. "As much as I would love to disturb you, Kaito, Kazuya and the hostesses have gotten themselves in trouble."

"What do you mean trouble?" Sakura asked as she and Toga got up, then looked at him.

A walk later

"Oh that is trouble," Kakashi said as they all walked up to to a flat concrete clearing, there a metal, barred cage that hanged fifty metres in the air by a crane. Inside were their missing members, they members screamed in relief as they saw them.

"What did they do now?' Takashi asked Raiko who looked up with a sombre look.

"They really must of pissed someone off," Toga noted by the height of the cage.

"Isn't this illegal?" Sakura asked Ichigo who was writing notes on a yellow pad. "Or rather criminal?" Ichigo began calling up the police but suddenly the phone disconnected

"No don't," they heard Kaito's voice from above. 'We must do this alone, we must win.'

"And why is that?" Sakura yelled back at him. "The phone's disconnected."

"That's because it was a contract made," a voice came from behind them. The club turned around to find a dark blue cloaked figure with a gold mask and white gloves behind them. "A contract that can't be broken."

"Who are you?" Juniper asked coming up behind Ichigo.

"I am 7," the dark blue figure spoke to them. "I am one of the numbers of Aries, one of the keepers of the darkness."

"Okay, who pissed off the cloaked nutter," Kakashi and Takashi said together as Toga kept his eyes on the cloaked man said unamused as they crossed their arms to the group as they all looked at the cloaked man.

"Your friends are embroiled in a cat and mouse game that their parents have started." 7 spoke ignoring the triplets abusing manner.

"Great," Raiko sighed. He looked up and began to assess what was needed to be done. His eyes bulged as he saw Kazuya. "Kazuya!"

"Oh no," Sakura said as she saw the cage slowly drift from side to side.

Toga took a step forward and stood beside Sakura, he bent down and whispered in her ear "You don't think this has something to do with what Juniper was saying right?" Sakura kept her eyes on the cage, she could see Kaito was shaking, the girls crying and Kazuya gulping at the sight of the ground below. If the cage dropped, that's it for them. "Do you notice how the crowd isn't noticing the cage or us?"

Sakura looked as she noticed the crowd going their own ways, not noticing them or the cage. "You're right, they aren't noticing."

"Cat and mouse game, sounds familiar," Toga said as he rubbed his chin.

"What do you mean?" Kakashi asked 7.

"Yeah," Takashi spoke up with fire in his voice.

"Will you both shut up?" Toga yelled at his brothers, "Don't you notice the situation your in, he wants you to play his game."

"I think the youngest one is defecting from the game they like to play," 7 said as he clapped the three of them. "Why don't you see what happens when someone defects from me?" he smiled as the cage plummeted to the ground.

"No!" everyone screamed in pure panic helpless as their friends screamed, time stood still as they stood back and watched in horror, helpless as the cage hit the cold hard ground.
