Chapter 25

Raiko's blood boiled when he walked into the Ouran Host Club room the next morning. The tears had since disappeared from his face. He had spent all that night crying which left him feeling vulnerable. His hands curled into balls, just ready to knock someone out. His mood was foul, while his eyes still stung from the lack of sleep he had exposed himself too.

Kazuya stayed close behind, willing his cousin into some sort of peace.

The club room seemed exquisite as ever, though, he could feel the sense of evil inside. So much loss had occurred since that morning Sakura had walked into his life. Calming himself, he made his way to where his fellow Host Clubbers were. He was going to be happy. Going to ask out Sakura and hopefully, just hopefully, maybe she would say yes.

He turned the corner….

And then he broke.

Next thing he knew, his fist had connected with Toga's face, sending the younger boy flying. Toga's brothers were upon him, only to get a kick in the stomachs. Raiko stalked over to where Toga was, crumpled over a wooden table, clutching his face. Raiko grabbed the boy by the collar and hurled him against the wall. Raiko could hear the impact of bone against the walls.

Raiko ignoring the pleading from the boys around him, only focusing on the monster in front of him. The fear resonating in Toga's eyes. Bloodlust began to ache inside of him, waiting, tempting to be released. One slice, one kick, one bite... All it would take to end the younger boy's life

For a moment, Raiko actually believed it would be Toga six feet under the next morning.

Until...

"Stop!" Sakura screamed in front of him. She crouched there, holding the moaning Toga from under her, distress and fright ridged into her features, "Please," her bottom lip quivered, "Stop!"

What was that underneath the fear in her eyes? Anguish? Hatred? No... It was something more pure than that. Something more happier and bright. Something more fiercely protective. Love...

Raiko went numb as he felt a strong frame hold him tight. He turned his head viciously to see Kazuya pinning his arms behind his back, but the image of Toga's tongue molesting Sakura's mouth made him feel nauseous. The image kept flashing in mind, making the situation feel more surreal. Panic. Desperation. Anguish for the friendship he had just lost.

He was losing himself, losing the sanity. Looking up the glass ceiling, he could see it. The mask. That wicked smile. He shouted but no words came out. Trying to warn his friends. The figure cocked its head, giving a shuddering laugh and fell out of view.

Raiko cursed when Kazuya dragged him away. His friends. Those people wanted him out. The only one who could fight it. The only one who had seen death besides... Realization set into his panic, as he struggled against himself. First, Juniper, now him... He had to warn them. He had to warn her.

"It was-" And then…. It was lights out.

They had been kissing. A nice kiss. One that made her feel warm and fuzzy inside. Toga seemed ever so small lying on the couch, out cold from the medicine Ichigo had given him. Dried blood had flaked him the bandage now covering his neck and chest. Though, Toga seemed to content asleep.

Sakura shivered coldly as a warm arm wrapped around her shoulders. Another wrapped around the other shoulder while they pulled her close. She smiled sadly at the triplets, while they all peered down in concern at their friend. Toga yawned in his sleep, curling up on the lounge. The flimsy sheet, giving him slight warmth while he slept off the drugs installed into his body.

"Did anyone see that coming?" Kakashi cocked his head to the side, unwrapping from Sakura and slowly walked towards his brother, "I didn't know Raiko had jealously in him."

"Ha, Toga is going to be kicking himself after all of this," Takashi chuckled, holding Sakura tightly.

Sakura looked at the two brothers, "You guys aren't speaking in unison?"

The two brothers looked at each other then back to her. They shrugged, looking rather miserable.

"No point if our brother is too knocked out from drugs," Sakura couldn't help but hear the bitterness at the end of the tone Kakashi had, "He's part of the gimmick."

"Well that gimmick better be up and running by the time the ball is here," Ichigo snapped from behind them, still typing away at his computer, "Our King is making sure Raiko is dealt with."

"As if that idiot actually does stuff." Takashi hissed.

"The ball is soon you two, just focus on making sure your brother will be okay for that."

"Yes," The two brothers smiled, "We will, your highness," they mocked bowed, as Ichigo slammed the lap top shut. Cursing under his breath, Sakura watched the older boy leave, while the two brothers grinned at his absence.

Toga groaned in his sleep causing the three of them to go silent.

"I can watch over him," Sakura mumbled.

The two brothers raised their eyebrows at her, "Are you sure?"

"Very."

And with that, they left her alone.
