The not-talking thing keeps up back to the estate, and then into evening, with the exception of a clipped "Good night," when Naoto excuses himself from dinner (and Yousuke remembers how to breathe again). Yousuke can't decide if it's better or worse than "You're fired."
He puts his dishes away—he can handle that much responsibility, he's sure—and goes to bed himself.
He thinks about calling his parents—but for what? To tell them he'll maybe be let go soon? That he can't hack this adult stuff?
Maybe if he's pitiful enough, they'll give him his old job—is that it? Right.
