He's been off balance since day one, but now the world's tilting the other way. "Wanna unpack that?" he says.
"We met in high school," Naoto says. "You were investigating a murder alongside some other students, unlikely as that may sound. I transferred in to lend my expertise—"
"Wait, in high school? Like, what, some kid detective squad?"
Naoto bristles, but continues. "Your investigations were not legally sanctioned, perhaps, but the case was satisfactorily concluded—no, that is unimportant. What is important is these other students."
He still won't meet his eyes.
