I own Nothing! but my Oc's

Light made it to the exams with only two minutes to spare. The entrance gate was empty save for a hefty man yelling for him to hurry because he was late but Light saw it as a good thing, seeing as how he hated to wait.

Ryuk was passively floating next to him as they entered the schools ground but he disappeared as Light made his way to the Exam room.

The room was filled to the brim with To-Oh hopefuls. Students who had spent quite some time preparing for this test. Some would pass and some wouldn't but Light wasn't phased.

Light was situated a few rows from the back. He had a good view of the exam procter and clock and he paid no attention to the. At the signal of the proctor all testees broke open the seals of thier exam booklets. Light took his sweet time and began reading over all the questions on the exam. The questions were fodder for his brain.

Light had finished the exam in only the first twenty minutes and began rechecking his answers out of boredom. Halfway through the test the proctor had come running to the back past Light and too an odd student seated with his feet in his chair.

The proctor was flustered telling the student he couldn't sit like that but he was being largely ignored.

Light intrigued by the sound of the situation turned in his seat and was met with dark shadowed eyes. The student looked unflinchingly ahead ignoring the proctor, his eyes and Lights locked.

Light quickly turned back around eyes now on his paper. That was weird he decided.

An hour later the test had ended and everyone poured out of the exam rooms. Light didn't see the strange boy as he made his way towards the schools gate but he did catch a wisp of silver out of the corner of his eye.

He turned in the direction and began walking, Ryuk materializing behind him.

"So how'd it go?" The shinigami asked as they rounded a corner. Light ignored Ryuk as he finally discovered what he had seen. It was a small frail looking boy with silver streaks in a head of black ink. The boys hair was cut to length of his ears and a few strands fell into his face.

Light thought the boy looked feminine, and the the black hair seemed like it didn't belong but it wasn't who he thought it was. This person looked almost emaciated his clothing three sizes too big for him and he was being helped out of his...wheelchair?

Light shook his head, it couldn't be who he thought. The young man turned on his heels, a confident smile on his face as he headed for home a shinigami floating placidly behind him with a big smirk on his face.

At Home

As soon as Light made it home he ran up the stairs past his mom and past his sister both questioning how it had gone. Light yelled down 'fine' as he locked his door and shuffled over to his desk. His father was still working on the Kira Case and he came home later and later every day. It had only been a couple of days since he had figured out they had stopped their surveillance of him so Light with ease pulled out his black notebook and ink pen and began writing.

(Nolans POV)

"You'll never truly understand how deep my hate runs for you." I remarked nonchalantly as Yantz took it upon himself to extract me from my seat. He only gave me a cursory glance and smirk as he finally scooped me up and deposited me gently in the wheeled chair. I had finished the entrance exam into To-Oh earlier that day and I was tired and grumpy at the fact that I had to spend even more time with the second most hated person on my list of hated persons. The lst only consisted of two people at the moment. Two being Yantz and one being Kira.

"Your humour knows no bounds." he replied as he shut the passenger seat door and finally came up behind me and began pushing. I rolled my eyes even though he couldn't see me. I was pissed off to say the least.

"When I can move my legs again I will not be adverse to repaying this favor." I warned him. His reply came with a boisterous laugh.

"I look forward to it," he said and although I couldn't see him I bet that same sickening smile was on his face. I knew it was on his face because I could hear it in his voice.

"You are Satan." I grumbled as we finally rolled into hotel.

"If I am Satan than who is Kira? Furthermore you should not have ran away from me. I also don't appreciate what you did to your hair. You've lost that…." he took a minute to think about it. "Special quality, but you are still my Nolan. You should also know that I don't make idle threats for a reason." He lectured me as we pushed into the lobby. We were greeted by a woman behind the front desk who immediately plastered a smile on her face and began flirting with the sadistic man.

"A room for you and your…" She eyed me reluctantly. I still had on the oversized sweatshirt and pants courtesy of Yantz. My hair, that was butchered and dyed personally by me was sticking up in different directions. I basically looked like someone who had been picked up off of the street.

"Fiance." A smooth baritone voice supplied. I blanched and looked up at Yantz.

"What? N…" I tried to say 'No Way In Hell' but a tight squeeze on my shoulder stopped any and all replies. The woman looked taken aback but wasn't hindered at all by the new information. She graciously gave us two keys to a one bedroomed suite. I rolled away from them both at this point. Sanity called for

"Shit! I'm sorry." My gaze traveled from dapper black shoes, up black tailored pants and finally to a friendly face with well placed wrinkles.

"It is quite fine. Miss…" the man had a british accent and looked like a butler. He reminded me of Alfred from Batman. I looked at the man suspiciously but gave him a name nevertheless.

"Yamagata." I replied. "I'm sorry, I should have been looking at where I was going."

"It is quite alright." he replied. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Yantz walking away from the lobby counter. I took a deep breath and ran through my options. I could roll away quickly and hopefully find someplace to hide or I can suffer through his presence for the next few days until a better opportunity presented itself.

I took one glance at Yantz coming around the corner and then to the butler like man. He raised a finger to his lips and smiled. I looked at the stranger surprised but then surprise turned into a smirk. I nodded my head at the stranger and then made a mad dash or roll out of the hotel. I wouldn't be able to stay in a room with that awful man. My patience was through and I would rather be curled up in my apartment in a fetal position dealing with D.B.K., death by Kira.

(Author's POV)

"Old man." Yantz replied as he walked swiftly by the older man. He was disgruntled at Nolan's actions of running from him but he could not say no to the chase. In fact he quite enjoyed it. Nolan would be punished and if need be to prove his point more than her legs would be broken. Actions always spoke louder than words.

"Little boy." Watari finally acknowledged. Before Yantz was fully out of the hotel the older man grabbed his wrist and pulled him back intent on implanting him with more wisdom. Wisdom that would hopefully stick this time.

"Cruelty might be very human, and it might be cultural, but it's not acceptable." Watari eyed the boy that was now a man but only physically. He was still that confused little boy he had met and mentored so long ago.

Yantz snatched his wrist back and grumbled and as he finally exited the hotel intent on finding his prey.

I don't know how to feel about this chapter but I would like to know what you guys think!

Next chapter definitely L, Light, and Nolan. Introductions all around!
