The Scientist in the Kitchen

When they stepped apart, Elaine was blushing. She fumbled to gather her discarded packages. "I forgot the salmon," she wailed and promptly burst into tears.

"I will make dinner this evening." Shifting his cane to his left hand, he smoothly intercepted the heaviest of the parcels from his sobbing housekeeper. "Tea. Now."

She trailed after him, still sniffing, into the kitchen. After tea was poured, Severus began cooking with methodical exactness.

"Tell me about the other fellow," he finally said, after cutting the beef into perfect little cubes.

"He had the most amazing emerald eyes and these little round glasses."
