Chapter Twenty Seven

"Will you please stop glaring at me like this was my idea?" Rebekah said to an annoyed Katherine Pierce who was glaring at Rebekah while clutching Belle to her chest. Truthfully, Rebekah was eager to get out of New Orleans. "And you're not bringing that mangy mutt with you."

Belle let out a low growl.

Katherine glared as she placed Belle in Stefan's arms without another word. She had been giving them the silent treatment all day and Klaus, the bastard seemed to be enjoying it. Katherine got into the car and closed it with a thud.

"It's only for a few days, Katerina." Elijah tried to explain it to her from the dozen time.

Katherine rolled up the window and refused to face him.

Stefan rolled his eyes. "Let it go."

"Yes, let my sister deal with a moody Katerina." Klaus said. "We have things to settle."

The two girls got on the road and didn't speak until Katherine blurted out.

"We better be staying at your place," Katherine replied moodily as she crossed her arms over her chest. "There is no way I'm staying with the Salvatore's."

"Don't worry I have no desire to see the Gilbert girl or my least favorite Salvatore." Rebekah started playing with the radio when they felt a car bumping them from behind. "What the hell?" she hissed. She got out of the car at the same time as two other men from their car, before Rebekah could react the men shot her with several werewolf venom infected bullets and Rebekah fell staggering to the floor.

"Rebekah!" Katherine screamed as she pulled open the car door and attempted to get to her, but one of the men came behind her and jabbed a sedative in her arm causing her to fall asleep.

"Take that one to Genevieve." The first man ordered.

"What about the brunette?"

"I'll take her home, Celeste has no used for her yet. They want to deal with Rebekah and Klaus first."

Marcel was at the bar drinking his fourth shot, or was it his fifth he honestly couldn't remember. He was just glad that Papa Tunde was gone before he could do any real damage. But much to his chagrin he found out two more dead witches were alive and kicking. Marcel was having a pretty decent day that is until his least favorite person decided to show up.

"One whisky, please." Stefan said to the bartender.

Marcel let out an irritated sigh as he put down his glass. "What do you want, man?"

"I know about what happened in 1919," Stefan said. "Rebekah told me, I know

"And am I supposed to be scared?" he scoffed. "You won't tell Klaus."

"No, I won't because I don't want to have innocent people murdered." Stefan said flatly. "But Klaus has a way of finding out things and when he does I want you to be there because you are much to blame as Rebekah and I don't want Rebekah to be daggered or worse because you were a coward that couldn't stand up to Klaus."

Marcel raised an eyebrow. "What are you, her protector now?"

"Witches of the French Quarter I have with me Monique Deveraux. If you wish to save her from another tragic death bright forth the witch Bastianna."

Stefan frowned. "Is that Klaus?"

Marcel and Stefan exited the bar and saw Klaus pulling Monique by the arm.

"Hey," Stefan tried to pull Monique away, but Klaus held on tight. "What the hell do you think you're doing?"

"Making arrangements, Stefan. This is how you get things done. Watch and learn." He gave Monique's arm a little twist.

"Stop it!" Marcel growled. "We do not hurt kids!"

"Oh, spare me Marcel!" Klaus argued. "Weren't you the one that killed Monique's mother? The smell of witches is in the air and I demand that you come up and grace us with your presence."

Klaus pressed Papa Tunde's blade against Monique's throat and she whimpered.

"Klaus-"Stefan tried to pull the knife from him, but Klaus snapped his neck.

"Stop it!" Marcel argued as he attempted to strangle Klaus long enough for him to let go of Monique and drop the blade. Klaus broke his neck as he threw him against the wall.

As soon as he turned around and before he could react Sophie stabbed him with the blade. The blade seemed too dissolved in his chest. Klaus started screaming in pain as he slowly started losing consciousness.

Bastianna walked towards the trembling Sophie. "I'll take it from here."

"Fancy meeting you here."

Elijah turned around the dark street and found a smirking Sabine/Celeste staring back at him. "You were the one that requested me, I couldn't exactly say no, Celeste."

"Oh, Elijah you were always the smart brother." Celeste smirked. "How did you know? I didn't think I was being obvious, I was always particularly good at it."

"No, it was very clever of you and I know how to put two and two together." Elijah walked towards her. "So you've been putting your souls inside the bodies of women for centuries and now Sabine's. You've been playing a very long game indeed the question is why."

"Oh, Elijah my long lost love," Celeste kissed him. "You don't understand I died because of Klaus and you let me die because of your stupid vow-always and forever."

Elijah pulled back and his legs started quivering as he fell to the floor. "What did you do?"

"Just a little something to calm your nerves."

Elijah let out a chocked laugh. "Poisoned with a kiss, I see that you are still incredibly ironic."

"We may have time for more," Celeste cooed. "But first to solve this obsession you could say about saving and protecting your lunatic family."

"Don't you dare hurt them."

"Oh, I'll have my revenge Elijah." She spat as she narrowed her eyes. "Klaus will know pain and torment like he has never seen it before and then there's Rebekah, your tragic sister, you could say the past is going to come back to haunt her. Then there's you sweet Katherine, or how do you call her oh, yes Katerina. That girl has more lives than a damn cat."

"All this time, all the accidents that Katerina has had were because of you weren't they?" Celeste only smiled in return. "If you dare hurt her, any of them-"

"After all this time it's still only Katherine," Celeste replied. "Don't worry, I won't be the one that's going to harm a hair on her pretty little head. Your family is going to regret everything that they did to me."
