I own nothing!

A week had gone by since Magnus's fashion show. The magazine's new issue had just gotten out with the photos of Magnus's fashion show and everything about it. Magnus himself had written the article explaining where his inspiration had come from. The magazine, as all the other issues, had been a success and Magnus was feeling more than happy. Everything was turning to be perfect and he wouldn't wish to change a thing…well, maybe something.

Alec had been very distant lately. The photographer was always quiet and reserved and usually it took a bit of pry from the designer to get his boyfriend to talk about what he was feeling…but lately it had been much worse. And Magnus had started to think that maybe the issues they had back when they were in California had not been solved. They had put those aside and acted as if nothing had happened, and for some time they had been alright. They were enjoying their time together, but maybe it all was catching up with Alec once again. Magnus didn't like to dwell on the past too much and he usually ignored and forgot anything that didn't have a positive impact in his life. But after knowing Alec for the long time he had, he knew Alec was just the opposite. Alec usually stayed in the past. He couldn't just forgive and forget as easily as Magnus, and it all started to become a weight over the photographer's shoulders.

Magnus didn't want to bring their issues up, though. The rejection he had felt that night in Los Angeles had hurt enough and Magnus was not in favor of feeling it once more. True, he and Alec hadn't slept together yet, but Magnus was not going to force the photographer into something he wasn't ready yet. He knew that when Alec was ready he would find a way of letting Magnus know, and until then Magnus would wait.

The secrets, however, concerned Magnus. Alec was obviously hiding something. Magnus didn't know what, but there was obviously something not being said. And Izzy mentioning Alec held secrets only confirmed it. Magnus could only guess it involved the time when his parents kicked him out of their house. Something that happened in between the death of Max Lightwood and the time Alec met Magnus. Some dark secret. Magnus didn't want to think too much into it, but he already had some guesses of what it could be about, even though he didn't like those possibilities too much. The thought of Alec going losing himself as a person was not a comforting thought for the designer, and so he had decided to not think about it until Alec brought it up…but as time went by, Magnus started to fear Alec would never bring it up.

Which led to where Magnus was right now. Alec hadn't shown up today at the magazine's building. It didn't bother Magnus too much at first. Usually, when there wasn't much work to do Alec would take his time to arrive. Often than not, he would visit the coffee shop he used to work at and come to the building until before lunch…but today lunch time had gone by and Alec wasn't back. Magnus had tried to call him, text him, and leave him messaged, but none had been answered…and it was starting to worry Magnus.

And so Magnus decided to do the only thing he could think about…call Isabelle.

"Hello?" Izzy answered her phone after the third ring

"Isabelle! This is an emergency!" Magnus exclaimed not bothering to greet her properly.

"Magnus, this is not really the time" Izzy sighed

"As I said, it's an emergency!" Magnus repeated with anxiety

"Magnus, I promise I'll help with whatever you want tomorrow" Isabelle insisted "Today's a bad day…"

"But-"

"Just drop it!" Izzy yelled over the phone

"Jeez…is it your time of the month or something?" Magnus rolled his eyes "You seem to be under too much stress"

"Magnus" Izzy warned "I'll call you back later"

"No! This is serious!" Magnus exclaimed getting back to the point "Alec's missing!"

"What do you mean he's missing?" Izzy asked lowly "He can't…we talked this morning"

"But he didn't come to work! And we usually have lunch together" Magnus said worriedly "And he's not answering his phone and I called his land line and he's not answering either!"

"He's not missing Magnus" Izzy sighed down the phone "He probably needs some time by himself…he'll call you back"

"Time by himself? Why?" Magnus asked frowning "Is there something wrong?"

"As I said, today is a bad day" Isabelle said, sounding exhausted "He's fine, I assure you…just, let's worry about it tomorrow, yeah?"

"Not until you tell me what's going on!" Magnus exclaimed

"Today's the day Magnus!" Izzy cried "Max was killed today four years ago…Now can you drop it?!"

The line went dead as Izzy hung up on him. Magnus was left standing in the middle of his office with his mouth hanging open and his hand letting go of his phone.

He had no idea today was the anniversary of the little Lightwood's death. Alec had never told him the real date, but now he knew. And he also knew why Alec hadn't come to work today, or why he wasn't answering his phone. But something twisted inside of Magnus as he thought things through. Alec wasn't with Izzy, or she would have told him. At least, he thought she would have told him. So that mean, the photographer was alone. Completely on his own while he had to go through this day. Magnus knew today was a really hard day for Alec. After all, the blue-eyed man still blamed himself for what happened.

Magnus picked up his phone from the floor where it had fallen. He took his coat from the sofa and moved out of his office and towards the exit of the building. He couldn't stay here. He needed to be with Alec on his hardest day of the year.

As he walked out to the street, he called a taxi and told the driver Alec's address. As the taxi started to drive off, Magnus took his phone and dialed Alec's phone once more. As it had done before, it sent him straight to the voice mail, so he left a small message.

"Alec, I know you're hearing this. Or at least, I hope you are" Magnus began "I know what today is, so I'm coming over, ok? Just…don't so something stupid, yeah? Love you"

As he put down his phone he looked down the window and started to worry about Alec. Suddenly all the possibilities of what could have been wrong with Alec since his brother died came crashing down. So many hours Magnus had spent thinking and trying to decipher Alec's secret, and he always came with the worse conclusions. He didn't want to believe any of them, since they all ended with Alec being hurt. But what if they were truth? What if what Magnus thought Alec's secret was is true and it's coming back now? Izzy had told him Alec was fine…but how did she know? Was she there with him? Magnus didn't think so. Izzy had heard how worried Magnus was, surely she wouldn't hide Alec away from him when he was worried sick about the photographer.

So if Alec was alone…he could be in trouble, couldn't he? Magnus prayed to whoever was up there hearing that Alec was fine and just not wanting to talk to anyone. He prayed for his boyfriend to be healthy and sane.

But as the taxi pulled over outside Alec's flat, something instantly felt wrong for Magnus. Magnus paid the driver and stepped out of the car, standing in front of the building. Magnus couldn't tell if it was worry, or if something was actually wrong, but Magnus was feeling something. Something that felt totally wrong and made Magnus worry even more. He didn't want to find out what it was, but something in the back of his mind told him to move because Alec needed him.

And so Magnus ran inside the building and started to climb the stairs two at a time. He didn't even think about taking the elevator. As Magnus reached the floor where Alec's apartment was located he rushed down the hall and towards Alec's door. Once outside that door, Magnus stopped. He took a deep breath, trying to calm down. He kept repeating on his head that Alec was fine, but no matter what he couldn't convince himself. There was something wrong, he could feel it. And with that thought in mind Magnus opened the door which was luckily unlocked.

The apartment seemed deserted. Alec wasn't in the living room or the kitchen. Magnus let out a sigh of relief at not seeing Alec hurt in either of those rooms. But there was still the wrong feeling, and so Magnus mover further inside his boyfriend's house. He moved towards the study, which seemed to be the same as it had been when he last saw it. And still no sign of Alec. The bathroom was empty as well. And as Magnus neared the door that lead towards Alec's room, the feeling started to get worse. There was something definitely wrong, he could feel it even stronger as he took the door knob in his hand. Not being able to take the feeling anymore, he flew the door open and took a step inside.

He however stopped dead on his tracks as he saw the body of his boyfriend on the floor over a pool of his own blood.
