Chapter Thirty Three
Davina woke up with a start, she looked around and notice the places around her. Was she really alive? Or were her eyes playing tricks on her? It wouldn't be the first time, while she had been "dead" she had been constantly tortured by the ancestors for choosing to side with the vampires rather than the witches. She had never thought that she would come back to life, but she had.
She let out a chocked sob.
"D, Davina I'm right here." Marcel whispered as he handed her a glass of water.
"Marcel?" she said. Even though Marcel was the person she least wanted to see. "Am I alive?"
Marcel hugged her. "You're alive, Davina. We killed the witch that took your place."
"What witch? What are you talking about?" she whispered, she was so confused and she felt the tears wanting to pour out at any second now. "Marcel, I don't understand."
Marcel tried to calm her down, he put a reassuring hand on her shoulders. "Listen to me, everything is going to be ok, all right?" Davina nodded, though she was still trembling. "I'm going to bring you some food, all right?"
Davina shook her head. "Please, don't leave me."
"Davina, you will be ok." Marcel said firmly. "I'm going to get you some food and I'll bring Cami, just please stay here."
Knowing that it was pointless to argue, Davina nodded and watched helplessly as Marcel left. She clutch her knees against her chest together and a second later she heard a knock on the door. She opened it and almost cried out with relief. "Monique." She hugged her friend, but her friend didn't hug her back. "Monique?" she whispered.
Monique stared back at her like a zombie, not even glad that she had seen Davina once she had reawake from the death, she simply said. "Come."
"Where are we going?"
Monique gave an impatient sighed. "Didn't you listen, during the Harvest? The only reason we came back were because two of the elders were killed Papa Tunde and Bastianna, there are still two Harvest girls left and to revive them and complete the Harvest we need to kill the two other witches-Celeste and Genevieve."
"Kill?" Davina paled. "I don't understand."
Monique gave her a cold look as she grasped her hand. "You will, don't worry I'll do the hard part." She handed Davina a knife. "One quick swipe will do it."
Hoping, that Marcel would arrive sooner Davina dutifully followed Monique towards the cemetery. They saw a red headed witch kneeling behind a gravestone. She smiled when she saw Davina. "Well, it seems you found our little friend. I'm Genevieve."
"D-Davina."
"Genevieve, I have been speaking to the ancestors and I'm afraid that your time has come." Monique raised her hand and chanted a spell. Genevieve fell to the floor screaming in pain. "It is your turn to die, Davina kill her."
Davina's entire body trembled. "I can't."
"Kill her or I will."
Genevieve screamed louder. "Please."
"Don't you want to see your friends, Davina?" she taunted. "Do you want them to stay dead because of you? Do, it Davina."
Davina clutched the knife in her hands, and with trembling hands she passed the blade over Genevieve's throat. "I am so sorry."
Her blue eyes focused on Davina full of hurt as she fell to the floor. Davina dropped the knife and clutched her arms together. "Oh, god what did I do? What did I do?"
"You were a hero, now stop crying." Monique said annoyed, her ears perked up when she heard the wailing from a distance from another harvest girl. "We're one step closer to continuing the Harvest."
Davina wished that she had never been part of the Harvest at all.
"Bound by blood, a different face, centuries apart the music will play," Rebekah mumbled under her breath. The four of them were standing in Klaus' study looking at the riddle that Monique had given them over three hours ago, but they weren't close to solving it.
Klaus had put his revenge on hold and had accepted Rebekah and Stefan's help rather gratefully, but that did not mean that Klaus was going to be nice to them, "That sister is the question we have all been asking ourselves for the past hours. Do try to keep up will you?"
"Well, if you had actually looked after Katherine instead of threatening to kill me like a lunatic we wouldn't be having these problems."
"Don't accuse me. I wasn't the one who committed treachery against her own blood!"
"Enough!" Elijah's voice boomed. "I am sick and tired of your constant fighting. Can we please concentrate on this ridiculous riddle?"
"Fine." Klaus murmured.
Stefan traced a finger around the letters. "A different face? Centuries apart? Maybe a different era?"
"That is possible." Elijah murmured.
"The music will play. A concert hall?" Rebekah guessed.
"No. The riddle leads back to us," Klaus closed his eyes wondering how he could be stupid enough to miss it. "Bound by blood-us the Mikaelsons, a different face I have no idea what that means, centuries apart a different era like Stefan said, the music will play, the only place where music was originally played-"
"The ruins of the old opera house," Elijah finished for Klaus. "The one our father burn down in 1919."
"Oh, dear that looks like quite a mess," Milena said looking at the blood that was still pouring out of Katherine. "I'm sorry, that I don't have a rag to clean it up."
Katherine glared at her, clutching her teeth and despite her pride she wasn't stupid enough to make Milena was to hurt her again. She was capable of killing Belle and she wouldn't hesitated to kill Katherine.
She placed a hand on her belly. If the amount of blood was any indication, she was losing the babies. Katherine would beg at this point. "Milena, please." She closed her eyes, feeling the pain returning. "I already lost one child, don't make me lose two more. These babies are the only thing I have left."
Milena cocked her head to the side. "I'm sorry, sister but that's not really my problem. As a Traveler I had to endure everything alone and losing you children would be only 1% of the pain that I have felt." She touched her cheek. "Maybe if you crawl you will get to the hospital in time."
"No, Milena no!" she shouted. "You can't leave me here, Milena!"
Katherine didn't know how long she had laid there on the floor, feeling numb, weak, and feeling the warm blood. She didn't know if the babies were still alive, or if they were in any danger. She only knew that if she got out of here alive, she was going to kill Milena.
A crash.
"Milena?" she choked out. "Anybody."
"Katerina?"
"Elijah, Klaus!" she whispered, clutching her belly. "Something's wrong, I-"
"Don't waste your strength, love." Klaus bit into his wrist and offered her his blood. "Here drink."
Katherine eagerly drank from it, but almost instantly she spit it out. "What's wrong?" she demanded. "Why can't I drink it? I've done it before, and I'm not healing either."
Klaus and Elijah exchanged alarmed glances. Klaus picked up Katherine. "Come on, love we're taking you to the hospital."
