It is almost midnight but I'm not sleepy...so I decided to update :) So here's a new chapter!

Waiting was the hardest part…for all of them. Isabelle had been taken straight towards the ER as soon as they had arrived. Alec, Magnus, Jace, and Clary had arrived a couple of minutes later, after trailing behind the ambulance towards the hospital. A nurse had informed them that Izzy had been taken into surgery where they would try to get the babies out before it was too late. Simon was already with Izzy and there was nothing anyone could do but wait.
So an hour later Alec, Jace, Magnus, and Clary found themselves in the very back of the waiting room at the hospital. They seriously needed some time away from the crowd. They needed to be alone just with each other for company at this. They really didn't need any press knowing about what had happened.
"She said babies" Clary whispered suddenly "The nurse…she said they'll have to get the babies out"
"Yes, that's what happens when pregnant woman give birth to a premature baby" Alec snapped. He really was not dealing well knowing something could go incredibly wrong with his baby sister.
"I meant she said it in plural" Clary said rolling her eyes "She didn't say baby…she said babies"
"So they're having twins?" Magnus asked raising his eyebrows "That's unexpected"
"Well that explains why Izzy was getting so fat" Jace commented
"That is incredibly rude" Clary snapped "She was pregnant, not fat"
"So they're having more than one baby" Alec said softly "Do you think they'll be alright?"
No one could answer that since they were all too worried about Isabelle and Simon.
For another two hours and a half they heard nothing from any of them. They all raised their heads when a nurse walked into the waiting room. Unfortunately, the nurse was never there to give them news. People walked in and out of the hospital while the four friends waiting for any kind of news about the couple.
It wasn't until they had been waiting for three hours that someone approached them. It was a woman dressed in a white coat and a clip-board in her hands.
"Are you family of Isabelle Lightwood?" She asked
"We are" Alec nodded standing up just as Jace did
"I'm Dr. Meyers, I was in charge of Isabelle's surgery" She explained
"Is she alright?" Jace asked "What about the babies? When can we see them?"
"One question at a time" She smiled towards Jace "The surgery was a success, thankfully. She is sleeping now, but Mr. Lewis is there with her. We were able to get the babies out and thankfully both kids were born without much of a problem. They, however, are premature-born babies. Their longs had not developed well enough. One of them, I'm afraid has BPD – Bronchopulmonary dysplasia"
"What does that mean?" Jace asked
"Inflammations or scaring on the lungs" Dr. Meyers explained "Thankfully, the scars are not too serious, mostly just like scratches. It, however, means the baby will have some difficulty with the respiratory system. Nothing to worry about, just some difficulty to breath and will probably have asthma or something similar. Both babies are to stay in the hospital in an incubator for the next couple of weeks. We'll be monitoring their development and determine when it'll be safe to take them home"
"What about Isabelle?" Clary asked "When is she going to be able to go home?"
"She is free to stay as long as she wants for the babies" Dr. Meyers explained "But she'll be able to leave the day after tomorrow. She just needs some good rest"
"Can we see her?" Alec asked anxiously
"She's asleep now…but you can head towards her room now" Dr. Meyers nodded. "She's on the second floor, room 204"
Everyone thanked the doctor and started to make their way towards the room the doctor had instructed them. Alec, however, decided to stay behind for a moment to talk to Dr. Meyers. Magnus noticed the absence of his boyfriend at his side and turned back to look for Alec. He waited patiently as he saw him talking to the doctor.
"I need to ask you a favor" Alec asked
"Tell me what is it you need, Mr. Lightwood" Dr. Meyers asked
"Is it possible to…keep this a secret?" Alec asked carefully "With…our families and jobs privacy is highly appreciated. The last thing we need is telling the whole world about the babies' condition"
"I know who you all are" Dr. Meyers said with a smile "My daughter is a fan of Simon Lewis' music, and I have to say I really liked Magnus Bane's last collection. You have my word that all of this will be strictly confidential"
"Thank you"
Alec joined Magnus once more and together they made their way towards Izzy's room. When they reached it and walked inside they noticed Izzy was now awake. Jace was sitting next to her. Simon was sitting against the wall on one side of the room, Clary sitting next to him.
Magnus smiled softly at Izzy and approached her to kiss her softly on the cheek. The designer then moved to take a seat next to Clary.
Izzy's eyes moved towards her older brother. She could barely speak now for all the medicine she had been placed in, but she managed to extend her hand towards him. Alec understood immediately and moved to take a seat on her other side. He took her hand in his and started to caress her palm.
"Everything will be fine, Iz" Alec said softly "You'll see"
After a couple of minutes Izzy went back to sleep. When she woke up once again, it was four hours later. She was still tired and had barely been able to rest, but she felt better than before. She was no longer under the daze the medicine had put her in and she could think more clearly.
She could hear different conversations happening around her. They were all whispering, being careful not to wake the sleeping girl in the bed, but it was useless now.
"Did they tell you?" She asked getting everyone's attention. Her voice came out rough since her throat was a bit dry, but she didn't care "About the twins"
"Dr. Meyers told them" Simon nodded. He was now sitting next to her, in the place Jace had been sitting at when she went to sleep.
"I think congratulations are in order" Magnus said with a brilliant smile
"I can't believe you guys have twins!" Clary exclained happily "This is so awesome!"
"It is quiet shocking" Izzy nodded slowly
"What are they, by the way?" Jace asked
"A boy and a girl" Simon answered with a bright smile directed towards Izzy
"Awn! That's great!" Clary said with a huge grin
"Dr. Meyers said we can go see the after your check up" Simon told Isabelle
"We can see them?" Izzy asked with wide eyes
"Of course we can" Simon said with a smile "We won't be able to carry them, since they are in the incubator…but we can still see them"
"Well…that's good enough" Isabelle said with a tired sigh, going to rest against her pillows
"What are their names?" Magnus asked excitedly "Have you named them yet?"
"Of course" Simon said with a smile "The little girl is named Amelia Rebecca, after my sister"
"And the boy is named Elliot Maxwell, after Max" Izzy finished softly
"Those are wonderful names" Alec told his sister sincerely "I can't believe I'm an uncle…"
"Don't get too excited" Jace smirked towards his brother "I will obviously be the coolest uncle"
