"These babies will be spoiled rotten" Magnus chuckled as he and Alec observed Maryse fuss over the twins.
"They're the first grandchildren. Not to mention the first niece and nephew" Alec said "Of course they'll be spoiled"
"I can't wait to take them shopping!" Magnus said happily
"Magnus, they're barely one month old…I doubt you'll be able to take them shopping any time soon" Alec shook his head
"We can go shopping for baby clothes" Magnus objected
"I think they have enough. You sewed enough outfits to last a lifetime" Alec said with a fond smile towards his boyfriend
"There is no such thing as enough clothes" Magnus said with fake offend.
Alec just shook his head at his boyfriend. Their attention was pulled to the front when they heard Izzy calling their names. She motioned for them to come closer and they did. Maryse had moved towards the kitchen to help Clary with dinner. Jace and Simon were watching some game on the TV.
"Would you like to hold them?" Izzy asked "You still haven't seen their eye color!"
Magnus nodded eagerly and rushed towards the twins, taking Elliot in his arms gently. Alec smiled at his sister and took Amelia in his arms just as gently. They both supported their heads and crawled them towards their chests. They were asleep now, so their eyes were closed. But with the movement, they started to wake up slowly. Elliot opened his eyes first, blinking slowly, and looking at Magnus with sleepy eyes. Magnus gasped as soon as he saw his eyes. They were bright blue, a color very similar to Alec's. Izzy giggled at his reaction, smiling widely.
"He's got your eyes Alec!" Magnus said happily. Alec turned to look at Elliot, whose eyes were indeed blue, and blushed furiously.
"He looks like a small version of you!" Magnus gushed happily
"He does not!" Alec protested, but smiled fondly at his nephew
"What about Amy? What color are her eyes?" Magnus asked. He had taken into calling her by that nickname
"Hazel" Alec answered as Amelia looked around the room, her eyes wide open trying to capture as many things as she could.
"Awn! She's so cute!" Magnus gushed looking at Amy in Alec's arms.
Magnus couldn't help but admire how good Alec looked with a baby in his arms. As weird as it could be, he rather liked the image. Magnus though Alec looked so natural holding Amy the way he did. If he considered everything that he had been told about Alec's past when he lived with his siblings, Magnus knew Alec would be a good father. He had taken care of his siblings for so long, and had done a really good job at that. It was as if Alec had been born to look after and protect others. And suddenly Magnus got the image of Alec and himself playing with three kids in the park. The oldest was a boy with raven hair and blue eyes just like Alec. He and Alec were passing a ball between themselves. The middle child was a girl, with long black hair and fell in waves over her shoulders. She was younger than the other boy, and instead of blue eyes she had green eyes. She was standing just next to Alec, trying to participate in the game. And then there was the other child. She was another girl, barely a year old. Magnus was carrying her while he looked over Alec and the other two kids. The small girl had also black hair, but was shorter than the other girl's. Her skin was tanned, compared to the other kids who had pale skin like Alec. And her eyes were wide and from a beautiful aqua shade, like a mix between green and blue.
"Magnus…Magnus?" The designer was brought out of his daydream by the voice of his boyfriend. Alec was staring at his with a worried expression on his face.
"Magnus? Are you alright?" Alec asked stepping closer to his boyfriend.
"Yeah! Totally fine" Magnus smiled at Alec "Just spaced out a little"
Alec gave his boyfriend one final look before putting Amelia back into the baby carriage. Magnus put Elliot down as well, and the two babies instantly went back to sleep. Alec chuckled down at his niece and nephew, they were so cute!
Clary and Maryse came back, and they started to question Isabelle about the wedding. The three women went to take a seat at the living room and started gushing around all the plans that Isabelle had planned.
Alec and Magnus went to take a seat as well. There was only an arm chair, so Alec let Magnus take the seat and he sat by the arm of it, leaning against Magnus. The twin's carriage was in the middle of the room, so if anything were to happen to them, everyone would see them.
"Alec?" Magnus whispered so only Alec could hear him
"hmm?" Alec asked, but his eyes were focused on the screen where a football game was going on
"Do you think we should tell them?" Magnus asked
"Yeah, totally" Alec said, but Magnus could tell he wasn't really paying attention to him.
With a roll of his eyes, Magnus pulled Alec down so he was now seating on his lap. Magnus grinned at his boyfriend as Alec gave a surprised gasp and blushed furiously.
"Magnus!" He hissed trying to get up, but Magnus wrapped his arms around his waist to he couldn't move.
"Relax, no one is paying attention" Magnus said with another roll of his eyes "Besides, I was talking to you, but you were more interested in the game…I had to get your attention somehow"
"Fine" Alec sighed, but relaxed against his boyfriend "What was it you needed?"
"I was asking you, do you think we should tell them?" Magnus repeated his question from earlier
"Tell them what?" Alec asked confused
"About our trip" Magnus whispered, nuzzling against Alec's cheek "We'll leave really soon…We should tell them"
"And you think now is the right moment?" Alec asked, leaning against his boyfriend.
"No better time than the present" Magnus grinned.
The designer pushed Alec off his lap so that the photographer could return to his place by the arm of the chair. Magnus cleared his throat and called for everyone's attention. It took some time, but finally they managed to get everyone to pay them attention once they turned off the TV.
"Hey!" Jace cried "We were watching that!"
"It's almost over" Alec said "We have something to tell you, and we would appreciate your attention"
Everyone turned their attention to the pair with interest. Magnus grinned at them all while Alec looked a bit shy and unsure.
"What is it?" Maryse asked "Is everything alright?"
"We're fine mom" Alec assured her
"We just wanted to give some news" Magnus said happily "After a long time of planning…we've decided to take a small vacation"
"Oh that sounds wonderful!" Izzy exclaimed "Where are we going? We should go to somewhere sunny-"
"Actually" Magnus interrupted Isabelle "It's just Alec and I"
"Oh" Izzy said while Alec blushed
"The two of you are going on a vacation?" Jace asked raising an eyebrow
"After everything that has happened, we thought it would be nice" Magnus nodded "Alec's gone through some really hard stuff lately, and I thought it would be nice for him to relax and travel"
"That sounds like a wonderful idea" Clary said with a smile "where are you two going?"
"We still don't know" Alec answered "We were thinking of making a tour in Europe"
"And some countries in Asia" Magnus cut in happily "We'll visit every country that is worth visiting!"
"That's going to take more than a few days" Simon pointed out
"How long will you be gone?" Maryse asked
"A couple of months" Magnus answered with ease
"A couple of months?! But…you can't be gone for that long!" Izzy exclaimed
"Relax Izzy" Alec told her "We'll be back exactly one month before your wedding"
"A month? You cannot organize a wedding in one month! I need Magnus's help!" Izzy cried
"And that's why I already have it all covered" Magnus said with a wave of his hand "I have the design of your dress ready, and the bridesmaids' are done as well. We have the color scheme and the flowers that will be used. I have a list of contacts for everything. Stylist, flowers, cake, decorations, and anything you will need…You just need to make some calls"
"We can do that, Izzy" Clary told her gently
"Plus, we'll be just a phone call away" Alec assured his sister "If you need us, you can call us"
"Just try not to need to us as much" Magnus said with a grin
"Well, I think it is a wonderful idea. You deserve a break" Maryse said standing up "Now come on…time for dinner"
Dinner went just great. It was always fun having dinner with the Lightwood family. There were no awkward moments, just fond bickering, and loads of family love. Clary, Simon, and Magnus who were not official Lightwoods felt like part of the family.
Just after dinner, when everyone was having individual conversations all around the place, Alec excused himself. He took Magnus's hand and led him towards the stairs and to the hall where all the rooms were found.
Magnus remembered walking through these halls once, when they were not together yet. It had been when Alec had offered his house for an emergency photo-shoot for the magazine. It had also been the day that both of them had almost kissed for the first time. Alec had showed him Max's room, which had been untouched since the little kid had died.
This time, however, Alec walked past Max's door and led the way towards the last door of the hall. It was a plane wooden door. They stopped right in front of it and Alec took a deep breath, before opening the door. They walked inside and Magnus's eyes wondered around. The walls were from a dark blue color. There was a big bookshelf filled with many books. There was a desk with many papers thrown on top. The bed was perfectly made. The comforter was blue as well, with white pillows. The doors of the closet were thrown open. There were still some clothes inside, but not many. Those that were inside were in disorder, some of them even in the floor. The whole room had a thick cape of dust.
"It looks exactly the same" Alec whispered looking around the room.
"Was this your room?" Magnus asked gently, stepping closer to Alec
"When I lived here" Alec nodded "It looks just the way it looked before I left…as if no one came in here after that day"
"They probably didn't" Magnus shrugged.
Magnus laced their fingers together and squeezed his boyfriend's hand reassuringly. Alec smiled softly at Magnus, turning to lock the door behind them, and turning back to look around the room.
"I couldn't take much with me" Alec said, remembering the day he had been kicked out of his house "I took all I could from my closet and put it on a bag…I then took my money, camera, my laptop and left…"
"You didn't take any books?" Magnus asked
"Just those who were on my bedside table" Alec answered
"What about all those who are in the apartment? You bought them all new?" Magnus asked
"Most of them, yeah" Alec nodded
They looked around the room for some more time. Alec kept telling small stories about what had happened there. They would either be stories about when he had been kicked out, or when he still lived there. Whatever it was, Magnus liked listening to Alec speaking of his memories. Some were sad and nostalgic stories, but there were a few that brought a smile to Alec.
"Alexander…." Magnus spoke gently. He took a seat at the edge of the bed "Why you brought me here?"
"I wanted you to see this room" Alec answered looking down at his boyfriend lovingly
"Why?" Magnus whispered
"Because this is part of my past…of who I am" Alec said blushing slightly "And I want you to know all about me, to have the whole me"
"That's really special" Magnus smiled "Thank you"
"Also…I wanted to tell you something" Alec said looking down at his shoes.
Alec let go of their intertwined hands and took a seat next to Magnus. Both of them turned slightly so they could be facing each other, but Alec wasn't really looking at him. He kept his hands on his lap and stared at them nervously. Magnus took his hands gently and tilted his chin so they could look at each other.
"What is it, love?" Magnus whispered
"You know how I told you I wasn't ready to…go farther?" Alec asked, ducking his head and blushing
"You mean having sex" Magnus stated bluntly, loving how Alec's cheeks turned scarlet
"Y-yeah" Alec said
"I know…and I told you I would wait for you, however long you need me to wait" Magnus told him gently
"That's the thing" Alec whispered, finally looking up at Magnus "I don't want to wait anymore"
"Wait…you mean" Magnus eyes widened, but they were glistening with excitement and so much love
"I'm ready" Alec nodded, blushing even more "But…I want it to be…special"
"Of course" Magnus nodded "It'll be the best night of our lives. Don't worry about it"
"So…I was thinking…maybe while we were on these vacations?" Alec asked shyly "I-I don't want to rush into anything…but, I mean…soon?"
"Whenever you're ready" Magnus assured him with a lovingly kiss on the lips.

So...the time has come to say goodbye...next chapter will be the epilogue :( I don't want it to end, but it has to *sigh*
