Elaine backpedaled deeper into the hallway, clutching the tea tray.
"Better to erase her memories and send her back to where ever she came from."
Her shaking sent the lavender teacups chattering. Was it really that easy to remove her from their paths? Suddenly the magic that had thus far been wielded to protect her became sinister and cruel.
She waited for Severus to refute them, to tell them that he would never do such a thing but the silence stretched.
