It took every ounce of her courage to walk down the hall with echoing steps, push the door of the parlor open with her hip and declare in a cheerful voice, "Cranberry scones anyone?"
She sought Severus's eyes hoping to see fire in them but they looked flat and hard. She wondered if he would do it now or wait until they were alone. Her hand shook as she passed the steaming scones.
He morosely nodded his thanks. Potter leveled her a suspicious look from under messy black bangs.
"I'll leave you to your tea then," She said, too brightly.
