He bought tangerines at the station counter and peeled them for her in long single curls of pith and rind. He sectioned them for her carefully and pressed them into her hands. The rising morning sun played across his brow as the train clacked its way towards Wolden.
"So what's next?"
He looked up searching her face with his dark eyes. "I had thought I might go," he said carefully. "Just to see if it is truly people from my past."
Elaine nodded knowingly and popped another section into her mouth. "Will you take me?"
