She regarded him thoughtfully from under her dandelion-fluff of messy golden hair coming loose from its braid. "I think so," she said slowly.

He neither frowned nor smiled and so she kept speaking, turning over the last of her orange and swallowing. "I want to know—its not just curiosity, although there is that—I want to know you. Do you remember you asked me that if I didn't want to come to a committed long-term understanding not to pursue this?"

He nodded slowly.

"Well I am committed, despite this last mistake, and I want to know all of you."
