Chapter 13: The Wedding
Three Months Later
Over the past three months Olivia and Bayard were busy finalizing everything for the wedding, from the cake to the dresses. The time finally came for them to head off to Italy where a week from now they would be husband and wife, they couldn't wait.
Olivia had finished packing her last bag when Bayard came into their bedroom. She looked up at him, "I'm already to go," Olivia said as Bayard walked over to her.
Bayard nodded as he grabbed her bag, "Just think when we come back three weeks from now we'll be husband and wife." Bayard said.
Olivia couldn't help the smile that formed on her face, "And I can't wait, I've waited years for this." Olivia said pecking Bayard lips. "We should go, Jessica is probably already in the car waiting for us." Olivia said as they walked out of the room. They locked up the house setting the alarm and made sure that they had everything before pulling off.
When they arrived at the airport and made it through security they made a stop at Starbucks and grabbed a couple lattes. When they arrived at their gate everyone was there waiting. "It's about time you guys got here, we were about to leave without you." Elliot said earning him a slap in the arm from Olivia.
"Watch it Stabler, or you won't make it back from Italy." Olivia said smirking.
A woman walked up to Bayard, "Mr. Ellis we'll be ready to go in just a couple of minutes." She said with a smile.
Bayard nodded, "Thanks." Bayard said as he saw everyone looking at him, "What, did I miss something?"
"We're the only ones on this plane?" Fin asked pointing at the plane out the window.
Bayard nodded slowly, "Yeah, a friend of my lent me his jet for us to use. It was easier doing it this way then trying to get over twenty tickets on the same flight." Bayard explain, everyone seem to accept the answer as the flight attendant came out to let them know that they can board the plane now.
They got comfortable before the plane took off. After stopping in Spain, they finally made it to Italy and everyone was excited and couldn't wait to get off the plane.
They picked up their luggage and headed to their Hotel in Milan. They checked in and headed up to their floor. Bayard and Olivia passed out the keys to the rooms. "We have this whole side of the floor to ourselves," Olivia said as everyone split up into their room. When Bayard and Olivia walked into their room, Olivia gasp, "This is beautiful," Olivia said looking around their crème and red decorated room. Olivia walked into the room where their bed was, "Bay you have to see the bed." Olivia said walking over to the bed.
Bayard walked into the room and saw the extremely large bed. It was made for a king and queen. "Wow," Was all Bayard could say.
They continue to check out their room before meeting everyone down stair at the restaurant in the hotel for dinner. There they discuss the plan for the week and about the wedding that will that place that Saturday.
Kathy looked over at Olivia, "Liv are we going to be able to see your dress before you walk down the aisle." Kathy asked.
Olivia shook her head, she had only taken Alex, Liz, and Jessica with her to find her dress, and she wanted to keep her dress a surprise until her wedding day. She knew it was tradition to have your bridesmaids with you when picking out your wedding gown but she guess she wasn't a traditional person.
Alex smiled, "Oh don't worry, you guys will love it…"
"Hey the groom is here; don't talk about the dress in front of him." Munch said interrupting Alex.
Alex shook her head, "Whatever," Alex said before turning back to Tracy to finish their conversation.
After everyone finished eating their food, they headed off to their separate rooms to get some sleep so that they could be rested for the activities for the next day.
Back in Bayard's and Olivia's room they were in bed in the middle of a heated make out session. Olivia pulled back stopping it from going any further since her and Bayard had both agreed a month ago that they wouldn't have sex until their wedding night. The day they agreed to that they made love all day to try and get it out of their system. It was killing them both, but they were determined to stick to their plan. They cuddled in bed slowly drifting off to sleep.
The next day they all met up in front of the hotel before getting in a huge limo that would give them a tour of Rome. Everyone enjoyed the tour, taking plenty of pictures. They stopped at a local restaurant in Rome to have authentic Italian food. Olivia fell in love with Italian food all over again. She leaned over to Bayard, "I think I might learn how to make Italian food, this is so good." Olivia said.
Bayard chuckle, "I think that's a great idea, I think both of us should take a class together. What do you think" Bayard said watching as Olivia took another bite of her food. Olivia nodded as she ate her food.
They finished their tour and headed back to Milan. By the time they arrived back at their hotel it was late, some ordered room service while others ate at the restaurant at the hotel.
The rest of the week they went shopping in Milan, Olivia buying some things for her honeymoon and of course some other things from many name brand lines. For two days some joined Olivia and Bayard in taking a short class at a local restaurant in making Italian food. Everyone enjoyed themselves in the class as they learned how to make pasta from scratched and a couple other things.
That Thursday they had moved from their hotel to the hotel at the villa where they will be getting married. After getting settled they headed to a winery to try some wine and tour the place. Olivia made sure Amanda was ok going even though she couldn't drink. While they headed to the winery, Cragen and Kathleen took Eli, little Olivia, and Ty somewhere else since they couldn't go to the winery.
When they returned to their hotel they had dinner and then headed off to their rooms. Olivia shared a room with Alex, while Bayard and Trevor shared a room.
That Friday was a relaxed day for everyone as they slowly started to get everything ready for the wedding. Olivia and Bayard made sure everything was going as planned.
Early that Saturday morning, the day of her wedding Olivia was out at the edge of the lake looking over the cliff, taking in the sight. Olivia heard someone walk up to her. She knew who it was, "It's so beautiful out here." Olivia said.
They smiled looking out at the lake, "It is Liv aren't you supposed to be getting ready?" They asked
Olivia gave a small smile, "I waited years to find the perfect guy to marry and start a family with," Olivia turned to face the person, "El, I'm scared that I'm going to screw this marriage up. You're the longest relationship I ever had with a guy." Olivia sighed as she turned back facing the lake, "What happens if things don't work out?" Olivia asked tears in her eyes, the idea of ever losing Bayard scared her to death.
Elliot pulled Olivia into a hug, "Liv everything will be just fine. You and Bayard love each other so much. That love is what will help you guys get through the hard times. Not only that but you have to make sure you be honest with Bayard about your feelings so that he'll be able to be there for you fully." Elliot said pulling back to look at Olivia in the eyes, "Don't let the 'what if' ruin the present, take it a day at a time. And as your friend I won't let you screw it up." Elliot said causing Olivia to smile.
"Thanks El, I'm glad you're here." Olivia said taking a deep breath. Elliot was right she shouldn't let the 'what if' scare her away. She love Bayard more than anything and she would fight to make it work.
Elliot grabbed Olivia's hand, "Come on let's head back in so you can get all pretty for Bayard." Elliot said making Olivia laugh.
When Olivia walked into her and Alex's room, she saw Alex and Jessica getting ready. Alex saw Olivia come in,
"There you are, come on you need to get ready." Alex said pulling into the other room so that the make-up artist can do her make-up and hair. When they were finish Alex helped put her gown on.
There was a knock at the door, "Who is it?" Jessica asked making sure it wasn't her father. She heard Tracy at the other side answer. Jessica opened the door to let Tracy, Kathy, Amanda, Melinda, and Liz into the room.
All the ladies were wearing light blue short diamond encrusted Halter V-Neck dresses. The dress came down to their knees, they wore two inch silver open toe shoes, with a simple diamond ear rings. Their hair was pulled back into a bun with a diamond hair clip holding it in place.
When they saw Olivia they all gasped, "Olivia you look stunning." Tracy said.
Olivia wore a strapless two tone blue colored sweetheart Italian dress the top of the bodice matching the light blue color of the bridesmaids dresses with diamonds going down the front side of the bodice it also had crystals at the end of the train. Her hair was in loose curls with a diamond tiara, the vile hanging in the back. Olivia had a simple sapphire diamond necklace with a matching bracelet. "Thanks guys," Olivia said as there was another knock at the door.
Jessica open the door to reveal Cragen, she let him. When he walked in he couldn't help the big smile that formed on his face when he saw Olivia. "Liv, you look beautiful." Cragen said kissing her on the cheek.
Olivia returned his smile, "Thanks dad," Olivia said.
Cragen took a deep breath, "Well shall we head down." Cragen said as they all started to file out.
Bayard, Trevor, Elliot, Simon, Fin, and Munch stood at the edge of the cliff that over look the lake. They all wore black suites, white shirt with a light blue tie and a blue rose on their suit jacket. Bayard was beyond nervous and the guys could see it. Elliot put a hand on Bayard's shoulder, "Don't worry man, she'll come down the aisle, she loves you more than anything." Elliot said. Bayard gave Elliot a grateful smile before taking a deep breath.
The rest of the group took their seats when the music started. Melinda was the first to walk down, followed by Kathy, Tracy, Amanda, Jessica, Eli with little Olivia who was the flower girl, and then Alex. Cragen looked over at Olivia, "Are you ready Liv?"
Olivia smiled and nodded, "Yeah, I'm more than ready." Olivia said as they walked forwarded. When they made it to the aisle Olivia immediately locked eyes with Bayard.
Bayard was breathless when he saw Olivia, she was stunning. When they made it to him he walked forward and took her hand from Cragen. He leaned forward and whispered, "You look absolutely stunning sweetheart." Bayard said.
The priest looked at them, "Who gives this women away." He said.
Cragen raised his hand, "I do," Cragen said kissing Olivia on the cheek before taking his seat.
Bayard and Olivia walked up to the priest who began the ceremony. Both Bayard and Olivia barely heard him as they were both lost in each other eyes.
When it was time to say their vows Olivia went first. Olivia took a deep breath, "I take you to be my constant friend, my faithful partner and my love. In the presence of our friends and family, I offer you my vow, to be your faithful and devoted partner, loving you truly through good times and bad. I give my hand, my heart, and my promise to love you unconditionally. I vow to support you in your goals, honor, and respect and cherish you as long as we both shall live." Olivia finished with tears in her eyes.
Bayard wiped the tears from her eyes, "I vow to put you before myself at all times. I vow to honor you as my wife, my best friend, and my partner for life. For every story I tell with my life, I want to tell it with you. For every hard time we endure, I want to endure it with you. For every good memory we make, I want to celebrate it with you. With everything I am, I love you and I am yours, now and forever." Bayard finished as he watched Olivia wipe the tears from her eyes.
They exchanged rings, "I now pronounce you Husband and Wife, Bayard you may kiss your bride." The priest said.
Bayard had a big smile on his face, as he leaned forward to give Olivia a passionate kiss. Everyone cheered and clapped for them. When they pulled apart Bayard smiled at Olivia, "I love you Mrs. Ellis."
Olivia laughed, she couldn't believe that her dreams were coming true, "I love you too Mr. Ellis."
