Ok I was worried for a second from the lack of reviews for the last chapter, but then I received four new followers, that encouraged me to post another chapter, but thank you to those who reviewed. I hope you guys are still with me on this story. Well on with the story.
Previously on Family:
Olivia thought she was dreaming, "I'm pregnant, are you sure?" Olivia asked
The doctor nodded, "Yes, an OB Doctor will be down to do an ultrasound to check how far long you are." The doctor said before leaving giving the couple some time to process the information.
Bayard looked down at Olivia smiling, "We're going to have a baby," Bayard said kissing Olivia.
Olivia nodded, "I can't believe it," Olivia said still in shock.
Chapter 15:
A couple minutes later the OB doctor came in to examine Olivia, "Ok I am going to do an ultrasound to check how far you are and to make sure everything is ok." Doctor Corday said, "This will be cold," She added as she squirted some gel on Olivia's stomach.
Olivia and Bayard watched the screen as it turned on. Olivia gasped as she saw a little fluttering blob on the screen, "Oh my god, that's our baby." Olivia said as tears filled her eyes.
Doctor Corday smiled at the couple, "Well it looks like everything is good and it seems like you're about two months." Corday said as she printed some pictures before wiping the gel off of Olivia's stomach. "Now if you like I can be your regular OB doctor or I can refer you to someone else, it's up you though." Corday said looking at the couple.
Olivia and Bayard looked at each other for a minute, "I think I would like to keep you as my doctor." Olivia said receiving a nod in agreement from Bayard.
Doctor Corday smiled at them, "Ok then I'll set up an appointment for you and prescribe some pre-natal vitamins for you." Corday said as she wrote on a pad.
"Thank you Doc. Corday, we really appreciate it very much." Bayard said with a smile still on his face.
"Please call me Heather, I'll see you in two months, but if you feel any discomfort or bleeding please come in," Heather said receiving nods in agreement before leaving the room.
"I can't believe this, I'm really pregnant," Olivia said looking at the ultrasound pictures that the doctor gave them.
Bayard kissed the top of her head, "You'll make a wonderful mother sweetheart."
Olivia nodded, "You know what I just realized, this baby was conceived the night we decided not to have sex until our wedding night." Olivia said as it just hit her.
Bayard laughed, "We did have sex all day so I'm not surprised." Bayard said. They heard the door open to reveal Cragen, Nick and Jessica.
"Mom, are you ok," Jessica said rushing over to Olivia's side.
Olivia rubbed Jessica's arm, "I'm fine sweetie really I am. I was just tired and need to eat more that's it." Olivia said reassuring her. "I especially need to eat more since I'm eating for two now." Olivia said as she saw the excitement rise on Jessica's face.
Jessica squealed in excitement, "I'm going to be a big sister," Jessica almost yelled in excitement causing everyone to laugh.
"Congratulations Olivia, you'll be great mother." Cragen said smiling at her.
"Yeah Liv, congratulations, you desire it." Nick said in agreement.
"Thanks guys, we couldn't be happier about this." Olivia said holding Bayard's hand.
"Well we're going to head back to the precinct," Cragen said, "Oh and Olivia take a day to rest up," Cragen said walking out leaving no room for arguments. Nick was right behind him as they left closing the door behind them.
Olivia was discharge a couple of hours later. They headed home where Olivia took a nap while Bayard worked from his office.
When Olivia woke up it was early afternoon, she got up and headed downstairs when she saw Jessica in her room. She went back to her bedroom to grab something out of her purse before heading back to Jessica's room. Olivia knock on the door before walking in, "Hey Jess," Olivia said sitting on the bed.
Jessica smiled at Olivia, "Hey mom, feel rested?" Jessica asked.
Olivia nodded, "Yeah I am, I wanted to give you this." Olivia said handing her an ultrasound picture.
Jessica took the picture and looked at it, "It's just a blob," Jessica laughing a little.
Olivia laughed also, "Yeah well that blob is going to grow and make me look like a beach whale." Olivia said.
Jessica raised an eyebrow at Olivia, "You're not going to look like a beach whale mom, you going to look beautiful pregnant." Jessica said as she set the picture on her night stand.
"Thanks Jess, I was thinking maybe we could go shopping for the baby soon, and just hang out, we haven't done that in a while." Olivia said knowing that she had been so busy with the wedding and working that Jessica and she haven't really spent much time together.
Jessica smile grew, "I like that, and by the way I hope you have a girl." Jessica said when her cell phone rang.
Olivia stood up, "I'll let you get that." Olivia said as she made her way out of the room. She walked downstairs towards Bayard's office. She knock and then entered, "Hey Bay, I'm not interrupting you am I?" Olivia said closing the door.
Bayard took his glasses off, "No just going over some files. How are you feeling sweetheart?" Bayard asked as he made his way over to Olivia.
"Rested now," Olivia said as she snaked her arms around Bayard's waist giving him a kiss.
"Good," Bayard said kissing Olivia again. "Sweetheart what do you say about going on desk duty or even taking you maternity leave early?" Bayard asked.
Olivia pulled back looking up at Bayard, "Bay I'm fine, I don't have to go on maternity leave for another four months." Olivia said clearly not liking the idea of her going on maternity leave early.
Bayard could tell she wasn't happy about it, "Sweetheart I just want to make you and our unborn child are going to be ok. You put your life on the line every day. I just don't want anything to happen to you or the baby." Bayard said trying to explain himself.
Olivia sighed, "I get that Bayard but I know how to take care of myself." Olivia said not backing down.
Bayard sighed, Olivia hasn't used his full name since they started to date, and he knew it was because she was mad at him, "Sweetheart you just got out of the hospital because you weren't taking care of yourself." Bayard said regretting his words immediately. "Sweetheart…"
Olivia shook her head willing the tears away. Olivia turned to walk out of the office as she walked up to their bedroom grabbing her purse.
Bayard walked in seeing her put her shoes on, "Sweetheart let's talk about this." Bayard said walking up to Olivia.
"I don't want to talk to you right now," Olivia said walking out of their room.
Bayard followed her downstairs, "Where are you going?" Bayard asked.
"Anywhere but here," Olivia said walking out of their house getting into her car before pulling off. She drove for awhile before stopping in front of his house. She got out and walked up to the house before knocking on the door.
"Liv, come in," Elliot said moving to let her in. He followed her to their living room and watched her sit down he could tell she was mad, "What happen?" Elliot asked sitting down next to her.
Olivia was silent for a minute, "Today Bayard and I found out that we're going to have a baby." Olivia said with a small smile on her face.
Elliot couldn't help the smile that grew on his face, "That great news Liv, you'll make a wonderful mother." Elliot said happy for her. He knew how much Olivia wanted a baby. "So what happen between you and Bayard?" Elliot asked wanting to know what brought her to his place.
"He wants me to go on maternity leave early or desk duty for my entire pregnancy." Olivia said as her phone beeped, she looked at the text from Bayard that said he was sorry. "I passed out today because of low blood sugar, and because of that he doesn't trust me to take care of our child El." Olivia said as a tear fell down her cheek.
Elliot hugged Olivia, "Liv I'm sure that's not what he meant. Bayard is just worried, he knows you can take care of yourself and the baby it's the perps he doesn't trust. And I bet once he said those words he regretted it immediately." Elliot said pulling back, "Why don't you guys compromise, you only interviews and interrogate perps but don't go chasing perps down a street or up a building. That way it would ease his worries." Elliot advised.
Olivia nodded, "I can do that," Olivia said liking the idea. "Thanks El, want to go grab some lunch." Olivia asked knowing she needed to eat.
Elliot nodded, "Sure, but can you let Bayard know you're ok so he won't be worrying himself to death?" Elliot asked.
"I can do that," Olivia said taking her phone back out to let Bayard know that she was grabbing lunch with Elliot and then afterwards they can talk. Elliot and Olivia went to eat at a diner. They talked and laughed before Olivia headed back home so she could talk to Bayard.
When Olivia arrived back home Bayard greeted her with a hug and a kiss, "I'm sorry sweetheart I didn't mean to upset you." Bayard said apologetically.
Olivia nodded, "I know Bay, I'm sorry for leaving. I just felt like you didn't trust me to take care of the baby." Olivia said.
"That statement came out wrong, and I didn't mean it." Bayard said as they made their way to the couch in the living room.
"Elliot came up with a good idea, how about I only do interviews and interrogations, so I won't be running after perps down streets and stuff." Olivia said.
Bayard nodded liking that idea, "I can do that," Bayard said as Jessica walked into the room.
"Is everything ok," Jessica said. She was worried when Olivia left earlier, so she was glad to see that she came back.
Olivia could tell Jessica was worried, "Yeah everything is fine Jess," Olivia said reassuring her.
Jessica nodded in relief, "Good, so I was thinking maybe we could have some ice cream and watch a movie." Jessica said.
"I like that idea, Jessica why don't you go pick the movie while we go get the ice cream." Bayard said as he stood up holding his hand out for Olivia who gladly took it. They made their way down to the entertainment room where they ate ice cream and watched Despicable Me 2 and Man of Steal before heading off to bed for the night.
