"Well this is a bit interesting…" Chopper noticed that the area they walked into was a lot similar to another area they had been in. The sound of the Subspace Bills being fired was fairly obvious. Plus, there were some Darklings roaming around. Thankfully, there were no signs of Shadow Bones.
"This is the same exact area we've been in…except now we're going up," Vivian mentioned, looking at the stairs the Subspace Blaster was blocking. "This feels like lazy design."
"Yeah,, but let's not make a big deal out of it," Shadower suggested. "We're already getting a bit deeper into this place. Well… I guess it depends on how far we've gotten."
"Who cares? That's not what's important right now." Tamber scoffed. "While you guys continue to ramble on about this area, I'm going to go on ahead! And maybe I'll cherish my Star Diamond along the way."
Tamber moved on ahead, while the rest of the group simply ignored him. That is, until they saw him tumbling back thanks to a Subspace Bill. Vivian had helped destroy it with her Fiery Jinx, allowing Tamber to get up.
"I didn't need your help!"
"But you were in trouble," Vivian noted.
"I was not!" Tamber denied.
"Let's just get a move on," Flyer suggested, trying to end their argument. The rest agreed, and they started to make their way toward the Subspace Bill Blasters. Just like before, Vivian hid them each time a Subspace Bill came their way, and once they reached the Subspace Bill Blasters, they went all out and destroyed them.
With it out of the way, they were able to go up the stairs and take the other pathway to the left. However, there were no Subspace Bill Blasters, nor were there any Subspace Bills flying their way. Instead, they had come across Firebars, only the flames were black this time.
"Well... This is different." Bombette remarked. "It at least improves the pacing. ...Somewhat."
Nevertheless, they had jumped over the Firebars successfully and found the next staircase leading up to the top part of the area. This time, there were both Firebars and Subspace Bills coming their way. Chopper had created a large light ball that he rolled toward the Subspace Bills and Subspace Bill Blasters, sending them flying like bowling pins.
"Hey, this is pretty fun! Why haven't I ever done something like this before?"
"'Cause you're a gumball?" Tamber snickered. Everyone gave him a weird look. "What? He IS a gumball! Just look at him!"
"Just ignore him, Choppy," Berry suggested. "I don't think he really means it."
"I do too," Tamber retorted, leaving the others to ignore him and go to the door ahead. When they were far enough, he took out the Star Diamond and stared at it with a frown. "Man, when will I ever get to be as cool as him? I mean, after all I've done to him, and he's not acting like a real jerk to me! What's up with that gumball?!"
"Tamber, are you co-" Flyer stopped when he noticed Tamber talking to his star. He had unintentionally heard what he spoke as well. "Tamber, are you all right?"
"What the..." Tamber looked up at Flyer with an angry look. "Hey, can't you see I'm having a mom- I mean polishing my Star Diamond?"
"You looked like you were doing more than polishing your star," Flyer said. "From what I heard, you seem to be jealous of him?"
"N-No way! I'm way too cool to be like him! He's stupid!"
"But you said that you wanted to be as cool as him..."
"I swear, if you tell that gumball what you heard, I'm going to label you as 'Nerd For Life' forever," Tamber threatened. "There's no way I'm going to let them know that I'm just jealous that they all get to be big heroes while I'm just a big nobody with this awesome Star Diamond!"
"Tamber, calm down," Flyer patted his shoulder. "I won't tell them. But what I don't get is why you have to act the way you do toward us."
"Well... My kind have always been known for being so awesomely cool and stuff. We never liked gumballs like that gumball, and we were so ripped and capable of lifting things so big. Honestly, I wasn't the way I was before. I never listened to them, and my dad always thought of me as a failure because of that. Then I found the Star Diamond..."
"Do you guard that thing?"
"Pbbbbbbth! No way! I was the first to find this thing, and I kept it all for myself! Those other guys wanted to take it from me, but I said no to them, then they continued to bug me around and demanding that I give the Star Diamond to them. Eventually that led to me just leaving my home and going to Clearno Island."
"You left your world?"
"Yeah, 'cause that star is mine, and I don't trust those jerks with it. First I threw them off the floating island I lived on, then I went to Clearno Island and made it float above the ground. And... I guess that led to me throwing others off the island as well, including the gumball, which we all know how that turned out... Then I eventually joined you guys, and...to be honest, I feel like you're the only ones that seem to care about me. Of course, I didn't act that way because, y'know, I gotta be cool and tough! But I guess they must hate me for that."
"Tamber, nobody hates you," Flyer assured. "We especially don't. We actually like that you're very helpful to us. Heck, even when I had gotten mad at Chopper on Clara, you still stayed by his side. Heck, you've always stayed by our side, and despite some of your complaining, you still went along with it. I mean, you could've left us from the very start, but you didn't. I have to admit, you are quite loyal, and I commend you for that."
"You really think I'm cool?"
"Well... I do know that you do have a soft side. Maybe if you start being a lot nicer to us, then you'll get a lot more respect in return, and maybe you'd be a good role model for people. ...Also, maybe you shouldn't exactly be so greedy."
"Thanks, Flyer… I think I feel much better." Tamber smiled. "Though, I still think you're a big nerd. But you're our nerd."
"Ermmmm... Yeah... I am..." Flyer trailed, unsure of how to respond to that.
"Anyway, we should get going. ...And remember NOT to tell the gumball what I just said, OK?"
"Yes, I'll keep that in mind," Flyer nodded, he and Tamber making their way to the rest of the group. They followed them through the door into the next area.
Chopper noticed the glowing yellow platform floating above the ground. With one jump, a couple of vertical platforms appeared above him, forming two walls.
"This looks interesting..." Shadower commented, noticing how the platforms were arranged.
"Hmmmmm… Let's see what I can do here." Chopper began to use his Wall Jump ability to make it up to the next yellow platform, which made stairs for him to go up to get to the door that was above a large, dark wall.
"That wall? That's easy!" Tamber attached his fists to the wall and began to climb up it. "This is going to go smooth!"
"I wouldn't count on that!" a Darksprine Trooper with two pistols appeared and tried to fire at Tamber with its pistols. "You all won't be leaving this place alive!"
"Oh, yeah?" While Chopper was at the door, he tossed a light ball at the Darksprine, leaving it stunned. When Goombella tattled the enemy, it was revealed to have a Max HP of 120, an Attack of 21, and a Defense of 4. Needless to say, everyone was left gaping.
"That's pretty strong…" Flyer gaped. "But, that's what you'd expect from someone with this amount of power."
In response, the Darksprine tried to fire a stun shot at him. He saw it coming and flew out of the way to avoid it. He then took out his arm cannon and prepared to fire, but the trooper fired its grappling hook around his arm and flung him into the wall. Dazed, the Darksprine Trooper prepared to shoot at him, but it received an explosion and a Ruby Hammer to its head.
"Argh! Take this!" the Darksprine threw a grenade in their direction. However, what it didn't expect was Kirby to inhale the grenade and spit it back, causing its jetpack to malfunction. "Oh, crud... This isn't good..."
With that, the Darksprine began to fly out of control until it was sent flying out of the area. Flyer soon got up afterward, looking exhausted.
"Where'd that Darksprine go?" Flyer wondered.
"It flew away," Vivian answered.
"Oh... All right. That was pretty close, though." Flyer sighed as he flew up the wall to the door. Everyone else shrugged and made their way up. Once everyone reached the door, they entered a small area with a door up ahead and also a blue ! Switch in the center of the room.
They also saw someone else in the room that greeted them. Surprisingly, it was the Mayor of Hatty Town.
"Mayor?! What are you doing here?" Chopper gaped.
"Good evening, Chopper!" the Mayor greeted politely. "…Or, morning? I'm not so sure. It's hard to tell the difference of when it is day or night here. It's dark around here!"
"How did you get here?" Vivian asked.
"To my surprise, I had stumbled across a dark portal in Dream Land, and it eventually led me here. I also found something that could help you reach the center of this realm!"
"Really?" Chopper gawked.
"You see this blue ! Switch here?" the Mayor pointed to the switch in front of Chopper. "This switch will take you there in a second!"
"Really? Wow, that's neat!"
"Hold on, Chopper..." Flyer stepped in, pulling him away. "Are you sure we should trust him? I mean, his explanation isn't exactly believable..."
"But he's the Mayor! I do trust him, that's for sure."
"Hey, that door up ahead is locked as well," Scrub mentioned, pointing to said door behind the Mayor.
"Well... I guess that means we should hit it." Chopper suggested. "There's no point in going ahead if this switch will take us to the center."
Before anyone could make any more objections, Chopper have struck the switch with his hammer. Suddenly, the ground beneath them had disappeared, and looking down, they found themselves standing on a trapdoor.
"Uh oh..."
With that, they all plummeted to their doom.
"HA!" the Mayor cackled, transforming into Decoya. "That was too easy! I'd watch them suffer, but I've got other plans."
She left the area, while the others had made their landing, with all of them falling over on the ground below. When they got up, they found themselves in a square-shaped area with four different doors.
"See, Chopper? You shouldn't have done that..." Flyer trailed.
"Sorry about that..." Chopper replied with a guilty look. "I should've listened..."
"Was that Decoya who sent us down here?" Berry asked, feeling annoyed about that girl. "Why does she always have to get in our business?"
"I guess she has something against us," Vivian deduced. "But for now, maybe we should try getting out of here first."
"Yeah, I was thinking of that," Chopper agreed, taking a look at the four doors around. "Hmmmm… Which one should we start with first?"
After a little pondering, Chopper ended up choosing the door to the south. However, going into the area, they didn't find a thing around. That's when Vivian had an idea.
"Maybe we can find something if we go into the shadows," Vivian suggested, floating behind Chopper and pulling him into the shadows. This triggered a cracked floor near the left to be revealed.
"I can see something!" Bombette shouted.
When the two rose up, they saw the crack wasn't there. Bombette had approached the invisible crack, indicating that Chopper had to throw her. He did that, and a block of a red eye was revealed to be behind.
"What's that supposed to be?" Flyer questioned as Chopper picked it up.
"Beats me," Chopper answered, putting the block away. "Let's check the door to the left."
They left the room and took the left door in the main area. The area they stepped in was similar,, but there was a large, Yellow Block, Stone Block, Metal Block, Rainbow Block and Dark Block. Along with that, there was sign.
"Go check what the sign has to say," Berry suggested. Chopper nodded in agreement and walked over to the sign to get an idea what's being said.
Those who find themselves stuck in this room must smash the blocks in order from weakest to strongest. Only the ability you get to smash it with may be used to smash the block.
"Interesting… I guess I have to hit them in order from weakest to strongest…" Chopper walked over to the angry Yellow Block and smashed it with his Super Hammer technique. He moved up to the Stone Block next, striking it with his Ultra Hammer, which was essentially he same thing, along with using that technique on the Metal Block. After that, he used his Diamond Hammer move on the Rainbow Block, and then he finished it off by using his Master Hammer technique on the Dark Block. With that, a second glowing red eye block had appeared in the center of the area.
"There's another one of those," Shadower said.
With that out of the way, they exited the area and took the door up north. The only thing they found there was a sign and nothing else. Flyer decided to go up and read it.
To find what you seek, one must make a great leap upon the center of the floor.
"So it says that we need to make a big jump on the center of the floor..." Flyer trailed.
"I've got that covered!" Chopper declared, launching himself in the air with a Spring Jump. He ended up bumping into something above him, causing him to slowly float downward. A block with a jagged, red mouth had appeared on the ground. Picking it up, he looked a bit uneasy. "Yeah... This sure is another block..."
"That means we only need one more," Vivian said as they walked out of the area and into the door to the right. This one had a Darksprine Trooper patrolling around.
"Uh oh... A Darksprine Trooper!" Tamber gulped.
"Hrrrm?" the Darksprine turned its head to Chopper and his friends. Alarmed, it aimed its laser rifle at them. "Chopper! So, you ARE here… Well, I'm pretty lucky to find you here!"
"Can we maybe just skip the fighting for now?" Chopper asked. "We just want to get out of this area..."
"Hmmmmm… So I suppose you want this, do you not?" the Darksprine held up a black block. "I assume this is something you need, yes?"
"Yeah, we need that! Can we have it?"
"Hmmmmm... Perhaps I could... But, you're gonna have to answer this tough question. If you get it right, I'll be nice and give you the block. However, if you get it wrong… You're gonna have to fight me for it!"
"Ummmmm… OK?"
"Good. Now… Who's the best Darksprine Trooper in Dark Subspace World?" the Darksprine aimed its gun at Chopper. "Remember: get it wrong and I'll blast you! Got that?"
"Is it...you?" Chopper gawked, unsure whether he was right or wrong.
"Hmmm... Yeah, I guess so. Here, take it." the Darksprine tossed the to Chopper. "Now, if you'll excuse me… I have somewhere else to go right now."
"Why are you helping us?" Vivian questioned.
"Oh, I'm not helping you. If you ask me, I'm helping myself a lot more!" the Darksprine cackled, flying away.
"OK... Well, we have the block!" Chopper smiled, returning to the main area. "Now let's see what these blocks can do!"
Pulling the four blocks out, it created an evil-looking spring when put together. A Subspace Key also popped out from it and landed in Chopper hands. As he smirked, he jumped onto the spring, and he was launched up to where they previously were. However, they found no sight of Decoya.
"Hey… Where's Decoya? Did she disappear?" Berry asked.
"She's probably still around..." Vivian deduced.
"Hopefully she doesn't get in the way..." Chopper trailed, unlocking the door with the Subspace Key and allowing them to move on to an area with a yellow platform. There was a bottomless pit down below.
"Careful, guys… If we fall, we're in real trouble." Shadower warned.
"We're not going to be in trouble! Not with these platforms!" Scrub assured as he jumped onto the yellow platform, making more platforms appear in front of them. "Now, if you'll excuse me… I'm gonna head up to that door!"
Everyone shrugged and followed Scrub up to the door. The first thing they noticed was a Mushroom standing by their feet. Chopper attempted to go after it, but it started to trail away from him each time. Eventually it stopped, and when he caught up to it, he stopped when the floor near him had opened up and revealed a trap door.
"Whoa! That was close!" Chopper cried.
"Great... There's more traps lying around here." Shadower sighed, noticing a Fire Flower hanging from a rope near another part of the floor.
"I would advise not going near those items," Flyer suggested.
Chopper nodded in agreement, and he decided to be very careful around here. Whenever he took a couple of steps further in the center of the path, a trapdoor would reveal itself. He decided to walk on the upper part of the road, taking down any Darklings that tried to attack him. The rest were careful as well, with Scrub nearly falling into one of the trapdoors.
"Whoa... That was close!" Scrub sighed.
Eventually they had reached the end and entered through the door. They were brought into an area with higher elevation, and the first thing that they noticed in front of them was a paper airplane panel. Looking down below, there was a Darkling and a Subspace Guy roaming around. Up ahead was the door, so Chopper turned into a paper airplane and started to soar over to the ledge.
Unfortunately, it was too far for him to reach.
"Uh oh..." Chopper gulped, avoiding the enemies that tried to go after him. The others tried providing as much assistance as they could, but they didn't have enough range to go down there and help him. Thankfully, there was a spring that brought him back to the ledge. "Well, soaring over there isn't going to work. It's too far."
It was then that Berry looked up and spotted a yellow platform. "Hey, Choppy! Maybe you can reach that platform if you use a Gravity Jump!"
"Huh?" Chopper looked up and saw the platform. "Oh! Thanks for telling me that! Maybe that's an idea of getting somewhere!"
He leaped in the air and landed on the platform above. This created a couple of other platforms for him to jump across until he jumped on a ledge with a door. Entering it, he came across a small area with a large, blue ! Switch below him. He decided to land on it and use his Spin Jump to activate it. That was when he felt a slight shake.
"I better go back to the others," Chopper suggested, returning to the group to see a big difference up ahead. The ledge where the door was was much closer. "Oh! Well this is nice!"
With that, he turned into a paper airplane again, and after his friends joined him, they began to soar to the other side. When he transformed back to normal, they entered the door ahead into a narrow road leading to a door ahead. However, the floor was disappearing after a couple of sections and reappearing.
"Another trap..." Flyer trailed. "It's most likely there to discourage us from moving on."
"There's no way we're turning back!" Chopper declared, approaching the walkway. After looking at the disappearing sections, he frowned. "Though... It's going awfully fast. How are we supposed to get through this?"
"Don't you remember how you got past those flames in Camikon's Castle?" Berry reminded sweetly, inching closer to him, leaving him rather uncomfortable.
"If you're trying to do what you usually say, then I'm not falling for it."
This wasn't going to stop her, of course. She leaned forward and puckered up, ready to kiss him again. This time, Chopper was scared and quickly made a run past the trapdoors and over to the door ahead.
"Yeesh, why does he freak out over that?" Shadower gawked.
"Honestly, I'm not a hundred percent sure..." Berry trailed. "He's been like even from the beginning, I think."
After Chopper was saved from his utter doom, he kicked the blue ! Switch nearby, deactivating the trapdoors. This allowed everyone to make it across to him, and beside the door, they spotted a Save Block. Chopper quickly struck it to save his game, and the group entered the door into a small, square area.
Waiting for them over by the door was an angry Decoya.
"I can't believe it!" Decoya yelled. "How'd you manage to get out of that trap I left behind?! I made sure that you couldn't get out of there!"
"Well, looks like you were wrong!" Tamber grinned.
"Grrrrrr! You were lucky!"
"And you're luck is about to run out!" Berry declared, taking out her hammer. "What do you want with us? Ever since we encountered you in Snowy Mountains, you've always been trying to stop us!"
"If you must know, I don't let people who beat me get off the hook so easily," Decoya explained calmly. "Considering how much you've been a PAIN on my side as of lately, I'm going to make sure you suffer!"
"You? Make us suffer? You couldn't beat us before! Face it, you're just desperate!"
"No... I wouldn't call myself desperate. If anything, I like to mess with people. It's one of the reasons why I was made!"
"Who made you?" Vivian asked.
"Like it's anything you need to know," Decoya growled. "Say, why do you wear that hat anyway? Is it because you're trying to shield your ugliness from everyone? If that's the case, why don't you remove it so I can laugh at you?"
"Hey! That was rude!" Berry growled.
"What's your name again? Berry? Who names their kid that anyway? That's probably the dumbest name I've heard!"
"It's not like you're any better!" Vivian retorted.
"Someone pass me the popcorn," Tamber said aside.
"Your name is pretty stupid too," Decoya said, looking over at Tamber. "And you look like a tulip. That's so laughable!"
Now Tamber was starting to rage. "That's it! We're taking her down!"
"For once I agree with Tamber," Chopper declared, getting a fighting stance. "You've been always getting in our way, and we're getting tired of it!"
"We're going to give you what you deserve!" Vivian stated.
"Yes... That's just what I want. And this time, I plan to put an end to this. There's no holding back now!"
It was at that moment that Decoya began to glow lavender again. Those that had seen this form were prepared for the worst, while those who hadn't seen it were left in surprise.
"Is she transforming?" Flyer gawked.
"Yeah..." Chopper nodded.
When the brightness was gone, Decoya finally stood before the group in her true form. Unlike before, she had two spikes on the back of her arms, and she seemed to have an aura around her too.
"As you can see, I've gotten a lot stronger in this form," Decoya explained. "I was saving this form when I thought was the perfect opportunity to beat you guys. Well, looks like that time has finally come. Say goodbye, you pesky eleven!"
Tattle: Oh, boy... It's this form again. This is Decoya…in her demon spirit form. She seems to have gotten much stronger from before. Max HP is 500, Attack is 20, and Defense is 2. She'll throw mushrooms at you or use her claws to attack for the most part. Her attacks will go a bit faster as you bring her down, so that's a little warning. So, do all you can to take her down!
"Sigh… I can't believe I was dragged into this fight…" Chopper grumbled as he tossed a light ball at Decoya. She was knocked back a bit, but it didn't do too much harm to her. Berry's Ruby Throw had managed to strike the spider girl as well, piercing through her defense in the process.
"Taste my mushrooms!" Decoya snarled as she tossed a mushroom at Berry and deal 20 damage. Annoyed, Berry gripped her hammer and struck her head with her hammer.
"All right, Chopper… Attack, now!" Berry shouted.
"OK. Wow. Now I feel like a partner…" Chopper trailed, pulling his hammer out and slamming it on Decoya.
Unfortunately, he was the one to get hit by Decoya's Ice Shroom. Luckily, he managed to guard the attack and prevent himself from being frozen. Afterward, he managed to throw his hammer at her and deal 10 damage.
"I might as well attack," Vivian stated, going into the shadows and then striking Decoya with her Shade Fist when she rose up. She was able to perform a stylish – at the cost of getting hurt by a mushroom Decoya threw at her.
"How does that feel?!" cackled Decoya.
"I'm not so sure what to say..." Vivian trailed, trying to remain confident. "But you're not stopping me!"
Chopper decided to make his move next, leaping off the wall and landing on Decoya with his Wall Jump and dealing 22 to her. Vivian attacked her again with another Shade Fist to deal 8 damage, Superguarding Decoya's next attack afterward.
"Yeesh... When will I get a chance to attack?" Scrub asked.
"When we get the opportunity...like now," Bombette declared, charging at Decoya after Chopper hit her with a light ball. After she struck Decoya with a Bomb, she was down to 396 HP.
"Considering that you are all getting tired of me, I'll make sure this fight is interesting!" Decoya cackled as she tossed a Fire Shroom at Bombette. She guarded it with ease, while Kirby struck her next with a Cartwheel.
"All right… I'm gonna use a Master Glove attack." Chopper managed to dish 16 out of Decoya with his all-powerful Master Gloves. However, it was he who got hit by a Flaming mushroom, which left a burn on him. "Ow! I hate it when I get struck with a burn!"
Nevertheless, he repeated his previous attack, using a giant electric ball on her instead. Scrub then followed up with a Mega Egg, bringing her to 342 HP.
"You know, Decoya… You can just give up right now and let us through." Chopper said in a calm manner. "We kinda have something very important to do."
"There's no way I'm letting you go so easily!" Decoya snarled, sending a Poison Shroom at him.
"WHOA!" Chopper guarded the Poison Shroom before he could get poisoned. "Whew… Thank goodness that didn't poison me."
Sighing, he approached Decoya and struck her with a Power Smash, while Vivian engulfed her with a Fiery Jinx and leave her burning. Enraged, Decoya climbed onto the wall and began to drop a mushroom from above on Vivian. She managed to guard the attack and bring her down with a Shade Fist. Chopper made his move by hitting her with a Rainbow Spin.
"Argh! You're being very annoying!" Decoya growled, firing a mushroom at Chopper.
"Well, lots of people say that, but I don't care!" Chopper retorted, burning her with a fireball. Vivian added in her Shade Fist to make the burn last longer, along with bringing her down to 287 HP. Decoya growled at Vivian, striking her with her claws and doing 20 damage.
"Be careful around those claws..." Flyer warned.
"Oh, yeah… I forgot about them." Chopper changed to his Angel ability, pulling his bow out and aiming at her with it. "So, you like heart-shaped arrows? I think they're dumb, but these really hurt!"
Chopper fired an arrow at Decoya, causing her to scream madly. Berry also did some damage by slamming her hammer on her head.
"Now THIS feels satisfying!" Berry declared.
"I'll be satisfied when you're gone!" growled Decoya, swiping her claws at Berry, knocking her back onto the ground. Shadower decided to make a move next, lowering her defense with a Shadow Punch. With another arrow fired, Chopper had managed to deal 10 damage.
"Argh..."Decoya rushed at Chopper and tossed an Electric Shroom at him. He managed to guard the attack before striking her with another arrow.
"We're more than halfway done with her!" Vivian smiled, scorching Decoya with a Shade Fist and bringing her down to 231 HP. "She should be giving up by now!"
Decoya growled angrily and charged at her, nearly knocking her back if it weren't for her ghostly tail. In response, she threw a Shade Fist at her, with Chopper bringing his hammer down on her. She took out her anger on Berry by firing a mushroom at her. That only got her to hit Decoya with her Ruby Hammer.
"Uhhhh... How come we're just letting them fight Decoya?" Scrub asked.
"Beats me," Tamber answered, eating some popcorn. "But it's entertaining to watch!"
"Hey, gimme some of that!"
Back to the fight, Chopper pulled three arrows out and fired them all at once at Decoya, taking 12 out of her with that, reducing her down to 193 HP. Decoya decided to to strike Chopper with one of her spider legs, but he only guarded it and struck her with his hammer. Berry had hurt her with her hammer as well.
"Ugh... Why won't you give up already?!" Decoya complained, firing a wall of mushrooms at everyone. They were knocked back, and unfortunately, Vivian had dropped the Chopper plushie that she had gotten.
"Hey, Vivian you dropped some-" Chopper paused, noticing what it was. "Hey... That's me!"
"It's n-not what it looks like," Vivian stammered, picking it up.
"I never knew there were dolls of me. Where'd you get it?"
"Well, umm… I got it from Wingel City mall, if you want to know... It's just a little something I thought I'd be interested in keeping..."
"Oh... OK, that's fine." Chopper turned back to Decoya and fired three arrows at her. Smiling, Vivian went into the shadows and emerged in front of Decoya, hurting her with another Shade Fist. As for Decoya, she grinned as she made mushrooms rise from the ground to strike the group. To her dismay, it was Superguarded.
"HA! You missed!" Chopper scoffed, firing an arrow at Decoya again, with Berry slamming her hammer on Decoya's head. She was hit by a mushroom Decoya tossed at her, but it didn't bug her. Chopper couldn't help but smiled when he fired an arrow at her again.
"Hey, Choppy… Could I try those arrows?" Berry asked.
"What? No!" Chopper backed away from her. "You wouldn't know how to use it!"
While Berry was speaking to Chopper, Vivian struck Decoya with another Shade Fist, but at the cost of being hit by a Flaming mushroom. Chopper decided to change to his Wing ability and swoop down at Decoya. Mario had swung his hammer at her next.
"You pests!" Decoya sneered at Vivian as she tossed an Ice Shroom at her, who had guarded it.
"Weird... You attacked Vivian, yet it was Mario who got rid of your other leg..." Chopper trailed. He decided to shrug it off and leap into the air to strike Decoya with a Gravity Jump. Berry's hammer brought her down to 70 HP.
Decoya was able to knock away Chopper's Wing ability by floating over to the wall and dropping a mushroom on him. It didn't affect him too much, because he managed to bring her down with his Hammer Throw. With Vivian's Shade Fist plus the burn effect, Decoya was brought down to 52 HP.
"You… You…" Decoya hissed, attacking everyone with Ice Shrooms, which got Superguarded. "I won't go down like this!"
"Yeesh, you're so annoying!" Chopper gaped. "Not even I can compete with you!"
Chopper threw his hammer at Decoya again to dish out 10 on her. Vivian helped him out by bringing her HP down to 39 with a Fiery Jinx, and then to 38 after the burn kicked it, leaving Decoya very exhausted.
"I… I don't know how long I'm going to last…" wheezed Decoya. She attacked Chopper with a Poison Shroom, which had failed to poison him, so he threw an ice ball at her.
"Let's see if you can beat the cold on THAT!" Chopper smirked. "Err… I guess beating the heat works better..."
Despite being a bad joke, Vivian giggled softly before punching Decoya again, reducing her to 22 HP. Luckily, she managed to guard Decoya's mushroom that was tossed at her. No biggie.
After Chopper tossed an electric ball and Berry slammed her hammer on Decoya, they knew she was going to be done in the next turn. However, that didn't mean Decoya was going to give up just yet.
Decoya decided to make one last attempt to attack them, mainly Vivian and Berry. She fired countless mushrooms at them, but they were able to get away from them with ease. Chopper decided not to interfere and watched the battle commence. Berry had began to perform her Berry Cyclone, and Vivian had thrown in a Fiery Jinx to heat up the pink tornado.
"Uh oh..." Decoya gulped, soon getting engulfed by the tornado. Vivian then forced her hands forward and created a Fire Wall. Both attacks had clashed, and Decoya was set aflame. As a result, she fell to the ground in defeat.
Vivian and Berry landed in front of the defeated Decoya, satisfied with their victory.
"I… I don't get it… I got beaten again?!" Decoya grumbled, her body quickly transforming back into her Toad form. She looked battered and bruised, and she appeared to be limping.
"So, how does it feel to taste defeat?" Berry asked.
"Y-You..." Decoya made one last attempt to lunge at them, but she instantly fell over, not having the strength to do so. "I can't it... I threw everything I had, and I failed to defeat you. I blame those stupid monsters for making me go after you in the first place!"
"Wait, the Tartaras were the reason why you're here?" Vivian gawked.
"So... That means you're...a Demon Beast." Chopper gasped.
"Yeah! I'm a Demon Beast! I was meant to be delivered to some fat penguin, but I managed to escape."
"Huh... Interesting... Well, we kind of took them down..."
Decoya slowly got up, her eyes narrowing at Chopper. "Well if that's the case, then I guess I'm free to do what I please!"
"Errrr... I'm not so sure if that's good..." Sonic trailed.
"I have other ideas, but don't expect to never see me again!" Decoya hissed. "Chopper, when I come back next time, you better be ready to taste defeat!"
With that, she took out a smoke bomb and tossed it to the ground to escape, leaving the heroes to approach the door ahead.
"Well, looks like we won't be seeing her for a while," Chopper smiled.
"Wait, Chopper... Are you sure?" Flyer asked. "I mean, she did say that she'd come back for you. I'd advise you to be careful..."
"Even if she does, I'm not going to let her stop us again!" Chopper turned to Vivian and Berry. "And it was really cool seeing you two finish her off like that!"
"Yeah, I liked seeing a fiery tornado and a fire wall come at her!" Sonic smirked. "It was wicked!"
"Thanks, guys..." Vivian trailed. "I'm glad for once I was able to stand up to that jerk."
"I'll say," Berry agreed. "She had gotten in our way so many times to hinder us. It was nice that we finally put her in her place."
"Yeah..." Chopper trailed, turning to the door. "Well, we better get going now. We still have some ways to go ahead..."
Agreeing, the group had opened the door onto the next section of Dark Subspace World.
