"Go, Flyer... Er, I mean... Chopper?"
"Don't give up!"
"Arggh! What… What are these voices?!" Maquano asked, getting irritated by them.
"I… I don't know!" Beldam gaped. "Who's speaking?!"
"I sense something bad is going to happen..." Tipral clenched his fists, ready for whatever was going to occur.
At that moment, the twenty Crystal Stars appeared and came floating down to Chopper, surrounding him. One sparkle of energy had fell upon Chopper, and his eyes had slowly opened.
"Ugh… Wh… What?" Chopper slowly brought his head up as he saw the Crystal Stars surrounding him. "Wh-What's going on?"
At that moment, the Crystal Stars started to heal him of his HP. He was also able to get up as well.
"I... I feel so much better!" Chopper gaped, noticing all of his injuries were gone. Along with that, he started to feel a new power surging into him as well, forcing his feet off the floor.
"What… What's happening?!" Maquano gaped, watching the Crystal Stars circle around Chopper faster and faster by the minute.
As the Crystal Stars got closer to him, Chopper had clenched his fists, while his entire body began to flash.
"I feel like I'm going to..."
He had swung his arms, and a bright flash emitted from him and nearly blinded the villains. When they finally got a look at him, they saw he had changed from pale green to a sparkling pale yellow, and his feet had turned to a golden yellow. A smooth, yellow aura had surrounded him as he pointed at Maquano with a confident smile.
"You're going down!"
"S-Super Star Chopper?!" Maquano gasped. "But… How?! Do the Crystal Stars really give you such a power like that?!"
"Super Star Chopper?" Tipral gawked.
"Whoa… I haven't seen THIS in a while!" Super Star Chopper gaped, looking at his arms. "I guess the Crystal Stars' powers had the kind of energy to give me my Super Star form!"
Chopper has now become Super Star Chopper! His HP has been raised to 1,000, and his Attack has rose to 40! Now he can use a lot of new abilities like the Light Blast and Light Beam!
While Maquano was shocked by his transformation, he remained calm and retained his confident look. "Congratulations, Chopper... I guess you still have a little more fight in you. However, while you may have your Super Star form to help you, that does not mean that you will win! Even with it, I still have enough strength to defeat you!"
"If I managed to beat you in this form before, then I can do it again!" Super Star Chopper declared, taking a look down at his friends. "I'm doing this not just for my friends... But for everyone who's rooting for me!"
"Yes... Those who are rooting for you..." Maquano trailed, listening to the voices around him. "I can't wait for them to know that you failed to defeat me. So many innocent people around will be left in agony with your defeat!"
"I don't plan on failing them!" Super Star Chopper retorted. "I AM going to stop you!"
"Hah hah hah hah! So be it! Let the true final battle begin! Prepare to meet your demise, Chopper!"
Tattle: That's Maquano in his true form. So... This is what he truly looks like? He looks a bit freaky... Max HP is 5,000, Attack is 48, and Defense is 0. He'll use all sorts of dark attacks on you, such as his fire breath, dark energy and even his dark lasers! If he tries to raise his Attack power, IMMEDIATELY put up a shield! Trust me! You'll thank me later! Along with that, he can heal about 300 HP if necessary! That's pretty big! Thankfully, you too can heal if you are in any danger. Now, Chopper! You can do this! This is the final battle! Give him EVERYTHING you've got!
Super Star Chopper stretched before he fired a light blast at Maquano. To him, it felt nice to use abilities that would cause a lot of harm to his arch-nemesis, especially when they couldn't stand light.
"I bet you remember how much my attacks hurt, right?" Super Star Chopper scoffed.
"Yes... As a matter of fact, I do..." Maquano hissed. "Maybe you'll remember how much MY attacks hurt!"
Super Star Chopper gasped when Maquano opened his mouth and started to breathe dark purple flames upon him. He quickly brought his guard up and was pushed back in the process. When he saw the opportunity, he flew straight at Maquano, impaling his body with a Light Dash.
"That was fast!" Doopliss gaped.
"Guhhhh!" Marilyn grunted.
"Take THIS!" Maquano swiped at his nemesis with his own claws, knocking him back over by the dark barrier. Super Star Chopper rubbed his mouth and managed to throw a light ball at him for another 40. "Light against dark… How interesting. It's like the battle between light and darkness has really commenced..."
"I guess so..." Super Star Chopper trailed, giving a determined look. Maquano grinned and opened one of his hands, firing a dark beam of energy at him, sending him to one of the walls. Doopliss couldn't help but grin at this.
"Oh, boy! This is awesome! Go Maquano!" Doopliss chanted.
"Shut it, freak-sheet!" Beldam snapped, silencing the Duplighost.
Super Star Chopper pushed himself off the wall in pain and glared at Maquano. Wasting no time, he began to charge up a light beam, and when he was ready, he forced his hands forward and fired it at Maquano, letting him scream in pain. Once Maquano shook off the hit, he fired a dark ball of energy at him, who proceeded to guard it.
"OK... So he's down to 4,800 HP... That's good..." Super Star Chopper charged at Maquano while he fired a large, dark ball of energy. Using his power, Super Star Chopper managed to push it back with a powerful light kick. Not to mention that he was able to convert it into light energy as well. It had managed to do 40 damage as well. "So how was that?"
"Well, you are giving me the idea of using one of your friends as a shield if you keep that up..." Maquano warned.
"What?! You wouldn't dare!"
"Oh, trust me. I would. I'd do whatever it takes to destroy you!"
Super Star Chopper gave him a glare before he began to swing his arms rapidly, firing multiple beams of energy at him with his Multi-Beam. It worked just like a Power Pounce in a way, and in the end, his attack brought Maquano down to 4,346 HP.
"Impressive... But it's not enough!" Maquano grinned, his eyes flashing and letting Super Star Chopper get hit with dark lightning. "Even if you are powerful, you're still not invincible to my attacks!"
"Well, you're not invincible to me either!" Chopper pointed his finger at Maquano fired a light ball of energy, taking 40 more out of him with the attack, only to get scorched by purple flames afterward, covering him in soot. He shook off the soot on him before using another Light Beam on him. After he Superguarded Maquano's dark lightning, he proceeded to ram into him with a Light Dash as well.
Maquano conjured up a dark beam of his own and fired it at Super Star Chopper. He ended up guarding it and striking him with a Light Beam for 80, but was then zapped by more dark lightning. After shaking off the attack, Super Star Chopper made a dash toward Maquano and hit him with another Light Beam for 80 damage. Along with that, it had blinded the Shadow Demon.
"Aggghhh! I can't see!" Maquano screeched in pain as he covered his eyes. This allowed Super Star Chopper to use another Light Beam on him, and thus, taking another 80 out of him. At this point, he was down to 3,946 HP.
"OK... I'm doing much better than before..." Super Star Chopper panted after Maquano had scorched his with his flames. He went for another Multi-Beam attack and fired rapid beams at him. He finished his fifteenth hit and brought him down to 3,451 HP.
"You'll regret that!" Maquano growled, raising his arms to absorb dark energy, healing off 300 HP that he suffered from Super Star Chopper. "There. That should heal myself of some of the damage you dealt to me."
"Ugh… Now I have to do that again!" Super Star Chopper groaned, using another Multi-Beam attack on Maquano, striking him the same exact times to deal 495 damage. "Are you ready to surrender, Maquano?"
"Not in your life," Maquano retorted, raising his Attack power by 48, leaving Super Star Chopper to gulp. Nevertheless, he decided he could hold it off and fired a Light Beam at him. "Heh heh... Take THIS, Chopper!"
Forcing his hands open, Maquano fired a large, dark beam that had engulfed Chopper. He brought up his guard and only took 95 damage instead, but it still hurt him, and he found himself slowly floating to the ground in pain.
"What's wrong, Chopper? You don't look so good!" Maquano grinned, seeing Super Star Chopper in pain.
"Mmmwee hee hee hee! Perhaps Chopper is finally finished!" Beldam cackled.
"That would be satisfying," Mysterious smirked.
"Ugh… I'm not done yet, Maquano!" Super Star Chopper stood up and raised his arms to heal himself of 300 HP. "See? My healing capabilities are equal to yours! How about THAT?"
Luckily for Super Star Chopper, he was able to Superguard Maquano's powerful dark fire and used a Light Blast on him to take another 40 out of him.
"Hmmmm... Not bad." Maquano remarked, clawing at Super Star Chopper, who quickly guarded it. Super Star Chopper had fired a Light Beam at him, causing him more pain. In anger, Maquano decided to recover 300 more HP. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough, since Super Star Chopper managed to use his Multi-Beam attack on him again and shoot eighteen at him. This had managed to bring him down to 2869 HP.
Super Star Chopper let out a sigh, seeing that he was nearly halfway defeated. When Maquano threw a dark ball of energy at him, he managed to guard it and take 47 damage instead. He decided to throw a ball of energy himself, taking 40 out of Maquano. The Shadow Demon unleashed a Dark Beam attack on him next to take a good 48 out of him. At this point, he was starting to feel less confident.
"I need your powers so I can successfully win this fight!" Maquano said, turned to the other villains. "I will not take no for an answer!"
"Right away, Lord Maquano!" Mysterious nodded, giving some of his water magic to him. Purple gave him his Earth magic, while Beldam and Marilyn gave some of their magic to him.
"Tipral! I need you to give me some of your powers too!" demanded Maquano.
"I'm not giving my powers to anyone," Tipral retorted. "They're for my own to use."
Maquano gave Tipral a disapproving look and prepared to fire at him. However, he was quickly interrupted by a Light Beam that struck him from behind. Turning, he saw Super Star Chopper smirking at him.
"You left yourself open, Maquano!" Super Star Chopper mentioned.
"ARGH! You little…!" Maquano hissed, using his dark magic to make a dark hammer materialize in his hand and bring it down on him, causing him to crash onto the floor. "Heh heh... Now that felt satisfying..."
Super Star Chopper quickly flew up and fired another Light Beam at Maquano, doing another 80 to him. Thew Shadow Demon growled and fired a dark ball of energy at Super Star Chopper, but he easily dodged it and hit him with a large light ball of energy that did 120 damage to him. Not only that, but it left him blind as well.
He quickly made a dash at Maquano, impaling through him and leaving the Shadow Demon cringing in pain. However, being used to impalement, he did not take it as a big deal. He tried breathing dark fire on his nemesis, but that turned out to be a failure as well.
When Super Star Chopper was ready to attack, he swung his arms rapidly and hit Maquano with his Multi-Beam. After twenty beams, Maquano was down to 1899 HP!
"I've almost got this!" Super Star Chopper smiled. "Soon, you'll be paying for what you've been doing!"
"Impressive… I thought that you weren't going to bring me down this far." Maquano remarked. "However, that does not mean that I'm finished just yet!"
"What do you mean?"
"Isn't it obvious? I still have a few more tricks up my sleeve!" Maquano grabbed a hold of Super Star Chopper, and after his eyes flashed, the super-powered hero had gotten zapped by dark lightning. Before he could hurt him again, Super Star Chopper broke free and landed a kick that dealt 40 damage to him. "Why you annoying little...!"
"Take this, Maquano!" Super Star Chopper cried, charging up another beam of energy. As he charged, an idea struck Maquano.
"This might be the perfect opportunity for me to test out some magic!" Maquano raised his arms and summoned a dark blizzard upon Super Star Chopper, interrupting his attack and leaving him shivering. Along with that, he was feeling exhausted.
"I think I need to heal..." Super Star Chopper clenched his fists and a light aura began to surround him, making him recover 300 HP. "That's better! I think I can finally do some more damage to you!"
Maquano grumbled as he fired a large dark ball of energy at Super Star Chopper, who proceeded to Superguard it. He summoned a large light ball of energy next and fired it at Maquano to deal 120 damage.
"You're going to regret that…" Maquano roared as his Attack Power began to rise by 48.
"Oh, boy… I need to think of something to protect me!" Super Star Chopper pondered for a bit as he floated to the ground. "I've gotta defend myself this time..."
Using his powers, he created a shield that would leave him invulnerable for a turn. Soon enough, Maquano fired his attack, and Super Star Chopper's shield managed to endure it. When the attack was finished, the shield shattered.
"What?! It missed?!" Maquano gaped.
Super Star Chopper smiled, happy to know that the ability worked. Using his powers, he managed to create a wave of light energy in the shape of a blade and swing it at Maquano. It had managed to deal 160 damage, leaving Maquano angry.
"Urghh…" Maquano growled as he raised his arms up to recover 300 HP. "This battle is FAR from over, Chopper!"
"That's what you think!" Super Star Chopper delivered a Multi-Beam attack upon Maquano twenty-four times to bring him down to 1195 HP.
Maquano decided to summon a dark wave upon Super Star Chopper to take 48 out of him. This attack, however, did not stop Super Star Chopper from using another Light Strike on him, and after he Superguarded Maquano's fire, he struck him with a Light Blast. This had brought him down to 995 HP.
"All right, Maquano! This is it! I've got you now!" Super Star Chopper exclaimed.
"Hmmmmm..." Maquano eyed one of Super Star Chopper's friends and started to pondered. He lifted a finger and pointed down at them. "Maybe we'll have to change that..."
Realizing what he was doing, Super Star Chopper stared at him in shock as Maquano fired a dark ball in the direction of his friends. Wasting no time, Super Star Chopper flew in and managed to knock the attack near the Shadow Sirens and Brothers. They were barely hit by the attack, and boy were they shocked.
"That was a close one!" Doopliss gaped.
Super Star Chopper flew over to an area where his friends wouldn't be damaged from Maquano's attacks and fired a Light Beam at him to deal 80 damage. Maquano decided to ignore his friends for now and fire a dark beam at Super Star Chopper. Despite it hurting him, he was glad it didn't hurt his friends. Smiling, he clapped his hands together to conjure up more light energy.
"Take this, Maquano!" Super Star Chopper cried, forcing his hands forward and firing a wave of light that hit Maquano for 40 and leave him dizzy for the turn. He seemed satisfied when Maquano's dark ball of energy missed. Super Star Chopper decided to make it more interesting by grabbing the dark energy and convert it into light. He threw it back at Maquano and dealt 48 damage.
Since that didn't count as his turn, Super Star Chopper decided to circle around the Shadow Demon rapidly before striking him with a Light Beam, just to see if he'll get dizzy or not. His smile had quickly turned to a scowl when Maquano had recovered 300 HP.
"Dang it..." Super Star Chopper sighed, firing a Multi-Beam at his nemesis. He managed to fire seventeen beams at him and bring him down to 503 HP.
"OK… He's only 503 HP away…" Chopper thought while panting. "You can do this, Chopper…"
"Ugh... No... This can't be..." Maquano groaned, feeling weaker than before. Despite this, he struck Super Star Chopper with dark lightning. "I'm not going to let these two years go to waste with my destruction!"
"Sorry, but I can't let you leave your destruction around the universe!" Super Star Chopper declared, hitting him with a large light ball for 120 damage before dodging Maquano's claws. "That was close..."
With a Light Blast, he managed to take 40 out of him, but when he saw Maquano rise his Attack up, he knew he had to be careful, so he shot him with a Light Beam instead, taking the risk.
"Almost there, Chopper… You can do it. I KNOW you can!" Super Star Chopper thought, feeling exhausted from the fight as well. He braced himself as Maquano fired his large, dark beam at him, taking 95 out of him.
"Hmmmm… It's hard to tell whether who's going to win this now." Tipral said, noticing that both of their HP was low. Super Star Chopper's Light Beam brought Maquano down to 183 HP.
"So it all comes down to this, doesn't it?" Maquano panted, though not ready to give up. "I'm going to finish you off once and for all!"
Maquano fired another dark ball of energy at Super Star Chopper, but he managed to purify it and send it straight back at him instead for 48 damage. With a Light Blast, he brought him down to 55 HP.
"I'm...almost there..." Super Star Chopper coughed.
"No… You WON'T win this, Chopper!" Maquano roared, raising his arms to create a large, dark ball of energy. "I'm going to finish you off once and for all, Chopper! With only 40 HP left, this should be enough to destroy you!"
"Excellent! NOW victory will belong to us!" Beldam cackled.
"GUHHH!" Maquano agreed.
"Say your prayers, Chopper! Because they'll be your LAST!" Maquano cackled, hurling the dark ball at the weak hero. Super Star Chopper panted, but he wasn't going to let this attack finish him. Holding his hands forward, he grabbed a hold of the dark ball of energy. However, even with his strength, he didn't seem to have enough energy to push it back.
"Arrrgghhh! I…can't…let…the universe…DOWN!" Super Star Chopper cried, his eyes closed tight while hearing the cheers of everyone he had met all over the universe. "Everyone's...depending on me!"
"C'mon… Lose, Slick..." Doopliss grinned stupidly. In fact, most of the others (save for Tipral) had been grinning to see Super Star Chopper's demise.
As they watched the struggle continue, Chopper's friends had slowly opened their eyes and raised their heads. Their vision wasn't clear, but they started to hear the sounds of cheers around them.
"What are those cheers?" Vivian asked.
"Oh, man... My head..." Scrub groaned, getting up. "Hey, I hear them too!"
"Hey, guys, look!" Flyer said, pointing at the battle. "Is that really Chopper?"
"But why is he yellow?" Berry questioned. "Unless he..."
"Well, there's no time to be asking questions! Let's get Maquano!" Sonic suggested, making a run for the Shadow Demon. Flyer thankfully managed to grab him in time.
"No, Sonic! We can't!" Flyer exclaimed. "Even if we were to help, we couldn't do much!"
"What? Come on? What can we do, then?"
They pondered for a moment until they continued to hear the sounds of the cheers. Looking over at Super Star Chopper, he was still struggling with the dark ball, and it was nearly pushing him to the wall. Now they had to think fast.
"Wait... I think I know what we can do." Vivian spoke up. "I remember back when Mario and I fought the Shadow Queen... One of the many things that motivated us were everyone's cheers. I think something is missing."
"...Yes, I think you're right," Flyer nodded. "There is not enough cheers."
Meanwhile, back at the battle, Super Star Chopper had started to feel the dark wall with his foot, and upon looking back, he knew that he was near.
"Oh, no..." Super Star Chopper gulped. "It's over for me, isn't it?"
"Yes, this is where it ends!" Maquano cackled, charging up another dark beam. "And I'm ready to finish this quickly!"
He was ready to fire at it, but then he heard even more cheers. This time, they were much louder, and they sounded like they were coming from this area. Both Super Star Chopper and Maquano turned to the direction of the cheers and saw the others back up.
"Chopper! You can do it!" Vivian cried.
"You've managed to take on other demons before! Don't let this one stop you, Contadre!" Scrub shouted.
"Poyo! (Fiiiiiiiiight!)" Kirby yelled.
"We all have faith in you!" Shadower cried.
"Don't let this demon stop you!" Bombette yelled.
"You've got what it takes, Choppy!" Berry shouted.
Mario: You can do it!
"Give him everything you've got!" Sonic cheered.
"You would never let Maquano bring you down!" Flyer cried.
"Beat him, Gumball!" Tamber shouted.
"What?! Why are they up?!" Maquano gawked.
"Guys! You're all right!" Super Star Chopper cried, astounded to see his friends up.
"There's no time to talk!" Flyer shouted. "Use all the energy possible, and stop Maquano from destroying you!"
"Right!" Super Star Chopper turned to the dark ball pushing him back, and feeling more motivated and confident, he started to successfully push it back. Maquano had noticed this and was gaping.
"No..."
"Argh... Maquano..." Super Star Chopper started, the dark ball slowly converting into light. "See...how you like...THIS!"
With all his might, he kicked the light ball and sent it flying at Maquano, causing him to scream in agony and be left with 7 HP.
"Wh-What?! But… HOW?!" Maquano cried. "You were too weak! That should've destroyed you!"
"That's because it was the help of my friends!" Super Star Chopper smirked, flying up to Maquano. "What's wrong? You don't look so good!"
"ARRGHHH… YOU… YOU…!"
"It's time to put an end to this!" Super Star Chopper declared, bringing his arms back to charge a powerful light beam. "And I'm not letting you go this time! You don't deserve to live!"
"N-No... This can't be..." Maquano gaped in horror.
"All right... Take THIS!"
Super Star Chopper fired the large beam, engulfing Maquano entirely, along with the dark core.
"AAAAAAAAAAAARRGGHHHHHH!"
"Lord Maquano!"
"GUUUHHH!"
"NO! LORD MAQUANO!"
"…!"
"I... I don't believe it..." Maquano trailed, his body slowly starting to disintegrate. "I've spent these two years planning...and they all went down the drain. You may have won this time, Chopper... But I will make my return someday... And then you will be sorry..."
When his body was completely gone, the dark core had let off an explosion of light. Unfortunately for Tipral, he was near this explosion, and he was caught in it as well.
"Arrghh! I...can't escape!" Tipral cried, being nearly blinded from it.
When the explosion was finished, the dark core and Maquano were gone. Tipral was nowhere to be seen either. The Shadow Sirens and Brothers stared at the sparkles of light that landed on the floor where the core once was at disbelief. Then they looked over at Super Star Chopper.
"NOOO! Quickly, Marilyn! Let's get out of here!" Beldam cried, escaping from Super Star Chopper by going into the shadows.
"Guh-huh!" Marilyn agreed, making her escape as well.
"Wait! What about me? Aw, come on! Don't leave me here!" Doopliss cried, escaping in his own way.
"Ugh… This is bad." Mysterious gulped, noticing that Tipral was gone. "Wait… Where did shadow-freak go? Bah! There's no time for questions! Let's beat it, Purple!"
Mysterious and Purple made their escape as well, leaving only Super Star Chopper and his friends.
"Finally… I did it." Super Star Chopper sighed, his eyes were slowly starting to close. With all the energy he had used, he was turned back to his normal self, and he fell to the ground, unconscious.
His friends stared down at him in silence, hearing nothing but the dark sounds coming from the sky.
"Chopper! Chopper! Get up, Chopper!"
Chopper slowly opened his eyes and saw all of his friends looking down at him.
"G… Guys..." Chopper smiled weakly. "Are you all right?"
"Yeah, we're just fine," Flyer assured. "The real question is if YOU'RE all right."
"Me? I'm… I'm fine."
"You really put up a fight against Maquano, buddy," Sonic grabbed his arm and helped him up. "I mean, you LITERALLY destroyed him and the dark core! That's gotta be an achievement!"
"You saved the universe..." Vivian smiled.
"N-No... I didn't do it." Chopper replied, receiving strange looks from the others.
"What? But you destroyed Maquano!" Berry gawked.
"It was thanks to you guys and everyone around the universe that I had the power to stand up to him," Chopper explained. "If that didn't happen, I'd be finished. Thanks, guys..."
Everyone couldn't help but give him a happy look.
"Hold on, there's one important question we gotta know…" Tamber trailed, interrupting the moment. "How do we get out of here?"
Everyone noticed a portal where the dark core once stood leading back to the Fountain of Dreams.
"Poyo? (Is that what I think it is?)" Kirby gaped.
"Whoa! It's closing!" Scrub gaped.
"Quickly, guys! Through here!" Chopper made a dash for the portal, he and the others jumping into it in time before it closed.
Now the big question to them was how everything was everywhere else.
And there you have the final battle of Paper Chopper: The Crystal Stars. Not too bad, was it? I thought this fight was a lot better than the one in the first story, as there was a lot more interaction in my opinion. I also liked adding the part where his friends motivate him into defeating Maquano, as I at least wanted his friends to have a part in the final battle.
Well, anyway, one more chapter until the story is over. Yeah, it's that time...
