Chip eyed the grey skinned alien; he was sure the little guy was smirking at him although his expression hadn't changed; in fact he was pretty sure the alien was looking down his nonexistent nose at not only him but the whole bridge crew and by extension, the entire human race. Yeah, Chip was sure he was right; Hermiod just gave off that vibe.
Hermiod blinked slowly at the blond human and smirked again, although his expression didn't change; messing with humans never got old.
"We are ready for transport," Hermiod intoned.
"It has been wonderful having you visit." Colonel Carter told them sincerely.
"Thank you Colonel, the pleasure has been ours." Admiral Nelson was all courtly charm and looked downright cuddly. Lee sighed internally, when people wondered how crusty old Admiral Nelson had managed to talk the US government and a good part of the world into letting a fully armed highly advanced semi private submarine wander about the world's oceans on its own he would like to be able to point to this incarnation of the Nobel Prize winner and say 'see, this is why;" this man could charm the birds from the trees as his mother used to say.
"Now don't forget, as soon as you return you must let me know; I'm sure I'll have those calculations worked out by then." Nelson tore a piece of paper from his notebook. "And here's my private number, don't hesitate to call."
"I won't, "Carter sighed happily, "I know the perfect area to test this in too, not too far from the Galactic Core, lots of space and nothing in the way."
"Excellent," Nelson beamed, "I don't usually have a lot of room to experiment in," he clapped his hands, "or the luxury of not having to worry about creating a mess."
He and Carter shared laugh. Lee and Chip shared a look, not sure if having a lot of space to create a 'mess' in was a good thing when it came to these two.
"And don't worry about getting permission, I'll take care of that," Nelson assured her. Carter beamed.
Nelson stepped back and saluted; "Clear skies Colonel."
"Calm seas Admiral, Captain, Commander", she nodded to each man, returning the salute as they faded from view.
Chip blinked as the rematerialized at Midway Station 2. A rotund man with glasses gave them a cheery smile, "Hi, I'm Bill Lee, great to have you here and darned glad to meet you!"
Oh, oh.

"People please, we have less than hour!" Woolsey took a deep calming breath, "Now, Dr. Keller, is medical ready?"
Jennifer Keller nodded her head, grinning to beat the band, "We're ready, we've got a couple of experiments set up to show off the uses of the Tekla plant derivative in regards to wound repair that we're sure the Admiral will be really interested in along with some of our lab results in regards to molecular blood synthesis."
Rodney rolled his eyes but kept his mouth shut; even he had learned that if one didn't want to spend the night alone one did not make derogatory remarks about one's girlfriend no matter how much like a giddy teenager they were acting.
Shepherd leaned over, "Good man, you're learning."
"Bite me," Rodney snarled quietly. John just smirked and leaned back in his chair.
Woolsey frowned at the pair. "Dr. McKay?"
"The entire biology department is probably either going to faint when Nelson arrives or trample each other in an effort to get his autograph, so if we want to call that ready, then they're ready."
Woolsey massaged the bridge of his nose. "Dr. McKay…"
"Engineering and Physics on the other hand, are not performing seals,"
"Doctor McKay!" Woolsey snapped.
Rodney didn't even pause, "however we will have a few experiments that Nelson,"
"Admiral Nelson Doctor McKay." Woolsey corrected through gritted teeth.
Rodney continued oblivious, as the expedition leader fumed, "will probably understand, at least on a basic level." He motioned to Radek, "I've put Zelenka in charge of that as he's good at explaining physics on a", Rodney made air quotes "basic level."
Radek rolled his eyes. "Debil," he muttered under his breath.
Woolsey counted backwards from twenty and then turned to Teyla with a strained smiled. "Teyla?"
"The New Athos Council will be pleased to come to the formal dinner for your Admiral Nelson and his command staff. Ronan has most graciously agreed to go hunting and to provide a 'snorth' for the meal." Ronan gave a thumb's up. She smiled benignly and Woolsey nodded gratefully.
"Suck up," Rodney muttered. "Ow!" he shot Teyla a glare and rubbed his leg where she'd pinched him. She ignored him. Ronan just shook his head sadly.
Woolsey sighed. "Colonel Shepherd?"
Shepherd and Lorne exchanged a look, "Ready and waiting Sir." Lorne nodded in agreement.
"Incoming wormhole," Chuck announced over the intercom.
Woolsey took a deep breath, "it's Showtime."
