CHAPTER 26: A BRIGHT IDEA!

Sonic raced across the open plains with Shadow and Blaze, while Fluttershy and Applejack were on the train. Canterlot was ahead of them, on the hill where it usually is every day.

"So Blaze, I hear you've been a bit weird on the train, right?" asked Sonic.

"Well, j-just a bit homesick." Blaze replied.

"I also hear that you've been talking about these things called the Elements of Harmony?" asked Sonic.

"OK, I'll spit it out!" said Blaze, reluctantly. "I was thinking about counterparts. The Elements of Harmony are the counterparts of our Chaos Emeralds."

"Hang on..." mumbled Shadow. "Which means-"

"Which means that WE have counterparts, too!" exclaimed Blaze.

"I can figure out that Rainbow Dash is my counterpart any day..." said Sonic.

"Silver's is Twilight, because he can pick things up using his mind AND he can fly, too." explained Blaze.

"Huh, never thought about that." Sonic admitted.

"Canterlot is there. Let's speed up." said Shadow.

Sonic used his Speed Boost move to go quicker. He shot off into the distance. Shadow jumped, and his shoes became rockets. He flew after Sonic. Blaze used her power to go faster.

When they got to Canterlot, they had to wait for Applejack's and Fluttershy's train. When it got there, the two ponies clopped out.

"I just had a thought!" said Applejack.

"What's the thought?" said Shadow.

"Well, since there are four princesses in total, why don't we see the princess of the moon?" asked Applejack. "She may give us some help."

"You don't need to go to the castle. I'm right here!" said a voice behind her.

She turned to see Luna, a large pony, like Celestia, only she was dark purple, and her mane and tail were made of what seemed to be startdust.

"I am Luna. You must be the hedgehog everyone is talking about." she said.

"The 'hedgehog everyone is talking about' has a name. I'm Sonic." he said.

"We wanted to know if you know where about's Celestia is in Eggman's complex." said Fluttershy.

"I can talk to my sister telepathically." replied Luna, who then closed her eyes.

"What does telepathically mean?" asked Fluttershy.

"It means talking using her mind!" said Applejack.

Shadow then noticed a strange energy. He took out his green Chaos Emerald from his backpack. It was glowing! He flew gentle using his shoes to hover. He held the Emerald to Luna's Horn.

"Errr, Shadow, what are you doing?"

The Emerald was glowing brighter. He moved the emerald too and fro, making it glow brighter and duller. He then had an idea.

"I'm sorry, friends. She is not answering." said Luna.

"Wait a minute..." said Shadow. "Can you pick up something with your magic?"

A pebble floated off the ground with sort of a blue-ish shield around it. The Emerald began to glow again.

"Well, I know how to find Celestia." said Shadow. "The Chaos Emerald reacts to magic aura's energy, but in such a way that it glows. We might be able to find Celestia using this as a guide."

"Shadow, you're a GINIUES!" exclaimed Applejack. "But what about Rainbow Dash...?"

"I'll go looking for her." said Sonic. "But to save time, let's teleport."

"Chaos... Control!" said Shadow. Fluttershy hid behind a bush as his Chaos Emerald shot a beam that turned into a circle of energy. Then it became a portal to the Egg-Citadel.

"Impressive!" said Luna excitedly.

"Well, it's time to go. See ya!" said Sonic, somersaulting into the portal. It rippled as he passed through.

"Wait up!" said Blaze, going in after him. Then Applejack went in. Fluttershy didn't want to.

"Fluttershy, come on. It's safe." said Shadow.

Reassured, Fluttershy wearily went through. Then Shadow somersaulted through. Finally, the portal closed.
