Chapter 15: Suspicions
Jiro was sleeping soundly after his infiltration with Yosuke, the whole thing exhausted both boys and they were definatly going to do so again to figure things out. Jiro was then dreaming, it was of him as a little boy playing with his father, Jin.
"Father, catch me." A sweet little Jiro called out as he ran to his father. Jin crouched down and has his arms stretched out and picked up his precious child and the 2 laughed together. "Jiro, my darling child. Your the best son any father could ever have." Jin said with a bright smile as he carried Jiro inside the house. The 2 had snacks together and continued to laugh together. In real life, Jiro was smiling happily as he remembers the days when he and his father were that happy together.
Next Morning
Jiro, Yosuke, Shinji, and all the fighters had awakened and ate breakfast and were ready for their upcoming fights. Heihachi Mishima appeared on multiple screens that were around them, as he was giving a speech to them, "Good Morning participants, I hope you are ready for your upcoming fights today. This time however, we will have the 2nd and 3rd matches today. You will be given wrist watches by my employees and these will show you, your next opponent. Eat and train well for your next matches". Heihachi signs off, and all Jiro could do was glare at the man the whole time.
Yosuke sat next to his friend and ate his food. "Looks like our hands will be a little full, how are we suppose to sneak in with 2 matches on the line?" Yosuke whispered not wanting to attract attention. Jiro ate calmly and wasn't sure what to do either, he really wants to go back to look at those files, but he can't sneak in between matches, as doing so may be problamatic as he won't know when his next match will be. "We'll have to do it again when everyone goes to sleep like before." Jiro replied, it was the only option they had and Yosuke agreed.
"Hey what are you idiots going on about? Thinking of how your gonna beat me when we fight?" Shinji said rather arrogant with a big plate of food, while he smiled with a smug look, apparently he is very confident he will win this tournament. "Yeah, we're totally looking forward to losing to you, Shinji..." Yosuke said with complete sarcasm and annoyance, Jiro just rolled his eyes and ate, giving Shinji no attention, Shinji took it as a compliment and laughed confidently and walked off to eat.
After the fighters ate, they recieved the watches that Heihachi was refering to earlier and they each were given their next opponets and were told where to meet them. Jiro was to now face against Lei Wulong, Yosuke is facing Ganryu, and Shinji is facing Paul Phoenix. "Dude really? I'm facing a Sumo Wrestler? This can't be right!" Yosuke complained not wanting to go through with this match, feeling it is a lost cause. Jiro felt bad for his friend, but not enough to want to switch opponents or anything, finding it would be a ridiculous idea for himself to fight a sumo wrestler. "Well good luck, Yosuke. I'm sure you can win." Jiro said giving his friend a thumbs up, Yosuke just nodded and sadley walked off.
Jiro vs Lei Wulong
Jiro and Lei met at a small stadium outside where a beautiful view of the ocean can be seen, it put Jiro's mind at ease do to it's calming atmoshpere, allowing him to keep his focus. "Hey, I hope your ready for this kid. I don't wanna hurt ya, but hey I guess I got to make an exception." Lei Wulong said to Jiro as he took his fighting stance. Jiro observed the stance and this reminded him of a stance that seemed rather similar to that of Chinese Martial Arts. "Hhmm I remember seeing Xiaoyu using Chinese Martial Arts, but this one is much different from her's. I need to be on gaurd" Jiro thought to himself, taking his stance. Lei Wulong took a peculier interest in the stance that Jiro had just taken, "That stance, it's so familar, it can't be can it?" The officer said to himself. The 2 quickly charged at eachother exchanging a few blows, Lei's were very swift and fast, Jiro has able to barely dodge them, even blocking was a bit of a challenge, but thankfully Jiro was able to fight back and hit Lei back and sent him a few feet away. "Say, you know hitting a cop is enough to get you arrested." Lei jokingly quipped and took his fighting stance, "I'm pretty sure it's wrong for a cop to attack an innocent teenager for no reason." Jiro smuggly responded and resumed their match...
Yosuke vs Ganryu
Yosuke and Ganryu stood across from one another, Yosuke was really uneasy and really thought this whole thing was a lost cause. "I seriously have to fight this guy? I am so screwed..." Yosuke thought nervously to himself. Ganryu stomped the ground with his feet and took a sumo stance, which only made Yosuke twice as nervous. Yosuke went in and tried to attack the large wrestler, but only to have his plan fail and have himself flipped over. "Yeah this is basically what I'm getting into..." the poor martial artist thought to himself, right before Ganryu came in for a body slam, Yosuke screamed and moved out of the way just in the nick of time! "Geez, that was close!" Yosuke was not going to get beaten by this guy, he knew he had to win this fight. Yosuke did manage to punch and kick Ganryu a few times, but Ganryu got many good hits in on Yosuke, even throwing him across the field, which didn't help Yosuke much. "Ugh, if I lose, I won't be able to help Jiro, I can't let him down" Yosuke got up on his feet again and is determined to win. "I shall win, for my JULIA!" the big man screamed out loud as he charged toward Yosuke. "Um...what?" a confused Yosuke replied.
Jiro vs Lei Wulong
The fight was still going on, and both were exhausting themselves. Jiro still felt he could win and Lei wa really impressed by Jiro's fighting prowess. "You know, I've seen that kind of fighting style before. Never thought I'd see it again, your family must be proud." Lei complimented Jiro, "Thanks, my father worked very hard to train me. And I won't let him down." Jiro responded. The 2 decided now was the time to finish this fight once and for all, Jiro charged at Lei who was ready to deliver a strong punch, which Jiro jumped over, as he landed behind Lei, he kicked the back of his leg causing Lei to lose his balance, Jiro then did a back flip, and kicked Lei in the back, causing the man to fly in the air a bit and landed straight on the ground, losing the match.
Jiro helped Lei up and Lei congratulated him. "Hey kid, your really strong. Good luck winning this thing. But be careful, some people are not who they seem to be." Lei said in a warning tone, this caught Jiro's attention, but before he could ask any questions Lei ran off. "What was that about? Is there something he knows? Does he know Heihachi or something?"
Yosuke vs Ganryu
Yosuke was still holding his own and trying to get the upper hand, he used his speed to out due Ganyru, which seemed to have worked, but this man was still strong and giving Yosuke a tough challange as this man was rather strong. "I am not going to lose to you man. I have to win, and help my friend!" Yosuke said with fire in his eyes, he delivered an uppercut to Ganyru and continued with a very strong punch to his oppenents stomach. This attack was so strong, it sent the man flying and he ended up hitting the ground very hard, passed out and thus losing the match, leaving Yosuke to win.
End of Round 2
The fighters all returned after their matches and were given 20 minutes to rest and train their skills for the upcoming third round. Jiro was calmly drinking tea and keeping his mind at ease, Yosuke then comes and takes a seat next to him, "Hey man, dude my match was crazy, I never want to go through that ever again. How about you?" Yosuke asked still not happy about his match. "My match wasn't bad, my opponet was a skilled man, and he seemed very familiar with my fighting skills and he seems to know more about Heihachi Mishima. He left before I could ask anything, I better find him again before it is to late." Jiro explained while sipping his tea. Yosuke was rather intrigued by this news, someone knowing about Jiro's martial art style is one thing, but for them to know some info on the man running the tournament, could something be up?
Before the 2 could continue, Shinji appeared. "Ha! See here Losers! I'm still standing and kicking butt and I am so pumped for the next round. And it better be you 2, cause I am gonna kick both of your butts!" Shinji bragged the as he punched and kicked the air, showing off his moves like a total show off. Both Jiro and Yosuke shook their heads at this and continued to ignore the punk, "Just give it a rest Shinji, no one cares." Yosuke said bluntly, Shinji then glares at them, not happy at this. "Hey, you should learn to be nicer to guys better then you man." Shinji rudely said to Yosuke. Yosuke stood up and marched toward Shinji and the 2 began to stare each other down, "Don't push me idiot. We both know this won't end well." Yosuke said in a deep voice, ready with a fist balled in his hand. "Yeah, because you know I'd kick your butt." Shinji said confidently, "No because if we fight amongst each other now, we will all be disqualified and that won't end well whatsoever." Jiro cut in and breaking up the fight, "Look Shinji, we all know you want to fight us and show off your skills, but picking fights like this isn't going to help and you can easily get us all in trouble because of this." Jiro explained in a calm tone, obviously not wanting the situation to get worse. "You talk a good game Kazama, but fine. I'll go along with it, I am not getting kicked out of this tournament. I really want to fight you and beat you. Both of you." Shinji said glaring at both boys and walk off.
"Man I can't stand that guy! He makes my blood boil." Yosuke said trying to cool off, "I know Yosuke. I can't stand him either, but you and I both know we can't be kicked out of this tournament. Come on, let's train a bit and get ready for our next matches." Jiro suggested, Yosuke nods in agreement, knowing they are going to need to be ready for their next matches.
Time had passed, and the 2 friends did a good job training one another, they were able to predict one another's attacks and they were ready for one attack after the other. "That was a good work out bud. I'm ready for my next opponent, how about you?" Yosuke said as he did some stretching. Jiro nodded and gave his friend a thumbs up, their watches began to beep, alerting them of their next matches: Jiro was to face Bruce Irvin and Yosuke was to face Eddy Gordo. "Well, it's time for out next matches. Let's do it." Jiro said, the 2 nodded and ran off to their next matches
Yosuke vs Eddy
Yosuke met Eddy in a spot close to the beach side of the island. This was a little disappointing as Yosuke would like to go swimming right now at the beach or work on a tan, not fight, but at the moment he doesn't have much of a choice. "Alright here I am. So your Eddy Gordo huh? The name's Yosuke. Nice to meet ya." Yosuke said in a friendly tone with a smile. Eddy stood across from him and offered a hand shake, "Nice meeting you too. I hope your as good as anyone else around here." Eddy replied. "Yeah, I'm good. I'll be a good challange." Yosuke responded while stretching and taking his fighting stance.
Jiro vs Bruce
Jiro stood calmly waiting for his opponent, who approached shortly after. "Hmmm, so your the one I'm facing huh? Didn't expect this, but fine, lets see what you have." The man had a negative aura around him, this made Jiro a bit uncomfortable, but he shook it off as he needed to be serious and win. "I will have to tell you, I am not someone who will go down that easy, sir." Jiro warned the man.
In The Hidden Office
"Are you saying someone broke in and went through these files? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU ALL! No one should have been able to get in and come through here!" Heihachi yelled in complete fury, his employees had reported that there was a break in last night, but they were unable to identify who as the ones responisble were able to avoid their faces being shown on their cameras. Heihachi was not pleased by this, whoever it was that got in, was in major trouble...and danger.
Yosuke vs Eddy
The fight lasted a while, and both impressed each other with their moves, Eddy's style of fighting did make Yosuke want to a bust a move or two for fun, which he actually did, even giving Eddy a good chuckle. "I will have to say, you do got some moves, but are they good enough to out do me?" Eddy said as we went in for another hit, but Yosuke was ready, he did a swift kick to knock Eddy off balance and deliver a punching combo and sent him on his back, defeating his opponent and winning the match. "Is that answer enough for you?" Yosuke answered smuggly.
Jiro vs Bruce
The fight was getting rather brutal, this man meant serious business and he left a few bruises on Jiro, although Jiro was able to sense that this man didn't really mean to hurt him so hard. "I feel a lot of emotion in this man's attacks, he must have been through a lot in his life. But I can see he doesn't really plan to do me much harm." Jiro thought to himself, but it was time to end this one. Jiro ran towards Bruce and before he could do anything, Jiro ducked to avoid the upcoming attack and got behind him. Jiro spun and kicked the man, sending him back, Jiro proceeded to run and perform a cart wheel kick and finished off Bruce. He helped the man up, "I can see that you have been through much in your life. You musn't let negativity control your actions, it is unhealthy and it won't help you in your life." hearing this advice was rather intriguing to Bruce, but he found it nice that a young kid was being this generous towards him. He smiled and pat Jiro's shoulders, "Thanks for the advice, kid. Keep up the work." Bruce said as he walked off.
Later
Jiro headed back to meet up with Yosuke. "I have done well so far, I hope Yosuke is ok too, I just hope we can pull off this next operation without any trouble. Hopefully no one finds us out-" before he could continue his trail of thought, Jiro bumped into someone, and it was none other then Xiaoyu herself! "X-Xiaoyu? What are you doing here?" Jiro asked, surprised to see her here. "Oh, hi Jiro, good to see you, how are your fights going?" Xiaoyu asked, trying to change the subject and to hide her real reasoing for being there. "I'm just fine Xiaoyu, but still what are you doing here? I didn't notice you among the other participants." Jiro had explaind, "If she knows what I'm up, she will not allow me to continue..." Jiro had thought, "Well, I'm just here for a little fun, Jiro. You know, I've been in these tournaments before and it's always good to keep practicing your skills." Xiaoyu said, her words were full of energy, but Jiro could tell she was hiding something, but decided to play along. "Yeah so true, you always need to practice Xiaoyu. I hope everything else goes well for you. Well, I need to go and meet up with my friend and see how he is." Jiro said as he ran off, "Jiro, I know your up to somethig, but please, you must be careful, you don't know what you may find. And you may not like it..." Xiaoyu said to herself, she wasn't sure what Jiro was going to do, but she needed to make sure he was safe, who knows what Jin will do if anything happened to his dear son.
AU: And that is where we end this chapter off. Sorry it's been a long time since my last update on this fanfic, but you know how it is, it's hard to come up with certain ideas and your daily life keeps ya busy. If the fights weren't that exciting, sorry about that, I'm not good at writing out fight scenes, and I think it's more important that we see what Jiro and Yosuke are up to rather then who they are fighting. Hope you like and continue to like this story and look forward to what's coming up next.
