The Ultimate Saviours
Chapter 13: Unity and division
There were some things Obito liked about the world he was in and a lot of things he didn't like. The world was technologically speaking far more advanced than any nation on his world. But despite all of those advancements humanity was still tainted by its most common sin, ignorance. Human history was bloody, filled with wars and acts of violence that seemed trivial, but the stabbing of a soldier because he was a soldier shouldn't have invoked stronger feelings than the rape of a woman because of her skin colour, the supposed economic struggle of a country like America should have been no worse than the millions of starving families in third world countries, and Obito didn't even want to think of the leaders of those countries. They were just as wealthy as the average politician in the west, but they ignored their people, in fact they drove their poverty and starvation. Even America, a supposedly advanced and free nation was not without its flaws. It wasn't just the situation with the mutants; the majority of Americans were descendants of immigrants yet hatred for immigrants was at an all time high, violent acts against people whom only followed the same religion as people whom bombed public places.
'Don't people get it?' Obito wondered as he read through the paper.
He read of one tragedy after another, the abuse of power, and the lack of action and of course the classic ignorance that had dominated the human psyche.
'People do not understand that when they hurt or kill another, they create a butterfly effect, they involuntarily create voids within the human heart…an emptiness like mine,' Obito sighed, paying the man working at the magazine stall.
He had no idea whether that man was as ignorant as the people he read about in the papers, or an honest man with a family he loved just trying to get by. Whatever kind of man he was Obito had no desire to make a scene by refusing to pay the man. He would establish his presence in the city, but not as Obito Uchiha. The mask would hide his scars and emotionless stare. But even the mask he wore as he walked across the street could not hide the scars he had claimed from a youth of suffering.
'Naruto, do you not see what I see, that this world so much more advanced than ours is still at the same point we were, they have had icons like you, Einstein, Churchill, Kennedy and Mandela, yet the world is no closer to absolute understanding, to absolute peace…if anything its less advanced than our world in that regard,' Obito thought as he walked through the streets.
May had been kind enough to give him some money and clothes. The woman was very generous, not long after Obito told his new allies about himself, or at least an edited version of his story that omitted certain details he wasn't ready to share, May signed on as a member of a new charity organisation that had been set up by a philanthropist in the city, Martin Li owned a chain of soup kitchens and work programs for ex cons, target youths and migrant workers, as well as the network of homeless families in the city.
'May Parker,' his thoughts drifted to the old woman as a new figure leaped over him.
Spider-man, or at least the original Spider-man was dead, but his death in no way had no meaning. Peter Parker, unlike the ignorant people of the world had created expectations, an example that should be followed. Someone lived up to those expectations and took up the mask. Obito just found it unfortunate that it was someone younger than Peter had been. He could tell from the boy's frame that he was perhaps twelve or thirteen, the maximum age genin from most villages fight in life and death battles. Obito, Kakashi and Rin were children of war, they had been shaped by it, Rin died, Obito was broken and Kakashi rose to surpass the expectations of his father, teacher and his best friend.
'And I will never see you again Kakashi, it seems that is the punishment for my anger with the world,' Obito thought, watching the new Spider-man jump across the rooftops until he was out of sight.
"Shameful isn't it?"
Obito looked to his side, seeing an elderly couple.
"What makes you say that?" he asked, genuinely curious over what possessed them to criticise a proven hero.
"People like that, going against the government, putting themselves above others," the man said.
"Um, he kind of is above you…the fact that he can jump that high," Obito said.
"He does have a good point James," the man's wife chuckled.
Obito had no desire to make a scene by arguing with the couple. He had great respect for old people, even ignorant ones such as them. It also gave him the opportunity to hone his ability to mask his intentions. One part of that mask involved using a persona that resembled how he had been as a genin.
"I think he's pretty cool," Obito grinned.
"Son I've seen real heroes, my best friend is a real hero and let me tell you something, that masked man is no hero, what kind of hero wears a mask?" the old man asked.
"Um, I don't know sir," an obvious lie on Obito's part, the mask was to protect those closest to you, something people like the old man couldn't get.
Although Obito understood the man's desire to believe that his government only ever did things in the best interest of the country. Perhaps if he had a better view of the things his government got up to then he would understand, why Naruto and Sasuke were right, why anyone attacking the government was in the right. That was why Obito was in New York, looking for leads on people who could help him with his new moons eye plan.
"What?" Naruto looked at his new hosts in confusion.
"A new nation," Pietro said, running behind Naruto and patting him on the shoulder. "For too long we've waited on our own leaders to improve their nations, slip us out of economic ruin, provide us with jobs, cleaner methods of energy and tolerance but they cant, because there are people within our own nations who don't want a better world," the silver haired man explained.
"So we figured we'd make our own nation, we would take all of the people, both human and mutant whom have learnt to accept one another and have grown tired of the system never changing. We will go to a place beyond America and establish a new nation, one that will be ours to rule," Wanda explained.
Naruto widened his eyes slightly before shaking his head.
"You idiots," he muttered.
"What was that punk?" Sabretooth asked.
"That is a direct contradiction of everything that I've been trying to achieve, its not solving the problem," Naruto said.
Quicksilver squeezed his hand into a fist and glared at Naruto.
"I should've known you were like Xavier, the self-righteous hypocrite who in the end was killed by his best friend, your beliefs have been wrong already," Pietro explained.
"Let us not be too hasty brother," Wanda said.
She walked past Pietro and traced her finger along Naruto's chin. He blushed slightly but kept his guard up. Kitty had told him of the twins varying alliances with humans and mutants. The Scarlet Witch walked along the metallic hallways, leading Naruto through their hideout. He looked into one hallway in wonder, obvious mutants and some regular humans were gathered in one place. But they weren't preparing for war or battle, true some mutants were showing off their powers but they were doing so to the wonder of the humans watching. The people gathered were simply talking, playing videos on their phones and even discussing construction plans and plumbing.
"What is this place?" he asked.
"One of Magneto's old hideouts in Texas," Mystique said.
"How did all these people get here?"
"We invited them, we sensed their hatred of the world's current state, their desire for a different world and we sent out encrypted flyers to their computers in order to get them here," Pietro explained.
"We owe that to our resident telepath and our hacker," Wanda smiled.
Naruto turned to see two girls walking towards the group. One was a Mexican girl with dark hair; she was no older than thirteen. Next to her was a girl Naruto's age, she had green eyes and short brown hair.
"Naruto Uzumaki, meet Aracely and Carlie Cooper, Aracely is a telepath capable of sensing the thoughts in individuals, Carlie was the first person she found who shared our ideals, she created a program that has been circulating across the web, 'conveniently' ending up at the email addresses of the people Aracely has been finding," Mystique explained.
"I still can't completely agree with what you're doing, where exactly will you go?" Naruto asked.
"Don't think this is an idea we haven't put any thought into, and don't think we intend to repeat the mistakes of the past. The savage land belongs to Ka-Zar and his people," Wanda said.
"We have no intention in spilling our hands in blood but at the same time we refuse to stand by and be judged so harshly anymore," Pietro explained.
"All of these people, how deep is this safe house?" Naruto asked.
"The size of a small city, father thought big," Wanda sighed.
She waved her hands together, creating a hex effect that manipulated the objects around her. Pieces of metal levitated around her, forming a complicated construct. The construct grew bigger and bigger and Naruto began to get a good idea of the scale of the twins plans. Behind him Carlie Cooper lowered her head slightly, unsure of the plan.
"It's the best alternative we have CC," Aracely said, sensing her friend's inner conflict.
"You helped me get further than New York Aracely, but I just want to change things," Carlie said.
"Yeah you really didn't put a lot of thought into running away did you?" Aracely asked, grinning as Carlie sheepishly rubbed her head.
"There is no changing it," the armless man growled.
"Julian," the blue skinned girl spoke softly.
"I don't answer to my slave name any more Transonic, call me Scion," the telekinetic raised his fists in a threatening manner. "I was the heir to a small fortune, but that didn't stop people from chasing me down and cutting off my arms, those disgusting U-men would have taken my brain if not for Avalanche," he explained.
"We wouldn't be in this mess to begin with if not for Magneto," the brown haired man with the helmet looked towards the twins.
Wanda however paid no attention to Avalanche's criticism. She clapped her hands together, finishing the construct and bringing it to life.
"Behold the ruins of Genosha, rebuilt as our island nation, our Utopia," she smiled.
Utopia was quite frankly a metropolis built from a nuclear hazard zone. The air would be purified, facilities built for harvesting and growing plants and food, a city built for both humans and mutants utilising the finest technology that could only be born from the effects of mutant powers. At the heart of the island was Fortress X, a place where energy and water would be pumped to every inch of the island. Wanda had formed her ideal world, her father's vision without his hypocritical bigotry and superiority complex.
"Of course we intend to honour all great men," Pietro gestured to the constructs of the Magneto and Xavier statues, standing side by side at the entrance to the island harbour.
"That particular bit was inspired by the lord of the rings," the Scarlet Witch grinned.
"Its beautiful," Carlie gasped.
"And it will all be made possible from like minded individuals working together, the dream of Magneto being achieved through the ideals of Charles Xavier," Transonic said.
"Of course it wont be easy, it could take months to build even with my speed," Pietro said.
"Where do you intend to do all of this construction?" Naruto asked.
"Still trying to find chinks in our armour are you?" Wanda asked.
"He's just like Xavier that way," Mystique huffed.
"Maybe we should've just gotten our hands on the other one, Sasuke Uchiha," Sabretooth said.
"He certainly would have been better to look at…not that this one isn't bad," Mystique grinned.
Naruto stepped back, slightly taken aback by Mystique's flirty nature.
"No, this requires someone like Xavier, not someone like father," Pietro growled.
Naruto looked at the mutants with a confused expression.
"They believe to a degree that you and your friend are representations of Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr," Aracely said, putting her hands to Naruto's head.
Naruto grabbed her hands cautiously, causing her to smile.
"Its all right, I already know many of your secrets, I didn't have a choice in the matter…don't feel bad, your memories are better than others I've seen, the words your mother and father left you with were beautiful," Naruto saw the faint traces of tears in the girls eyes. "Showing is a lot faster than telling," Aracely closed her eyes and then opened them, revealing empty black orbs.
"Here comes the Mass Effect moment, I hate it when she does this," Scion said.
"Why cause you wish she'd do it with you?" Avalanche asked.
"No because its creepy," Scion pointed his fist at Naruto.
The ninja's eyes had also turned black and his body, alongside Aracely's was as still as a statue. Aracely and stood within the depths of Naruto's mind, rushing through memory after memory. In mere seconds she saw the entire battle with Zabuza and the moment that first highlighted the profound effect Naruto could have on people. Through his battle with Neji, to Gaara, through Pain's invasion and their final encounter, to the Raikage and even to the final battle with Obito and Madara Aracely saw how Naruto could change people and overcome even the most overwhelming of odds. His greatest power was not the Kyuubi, the demon he was befriended, it wasn't even the Jutsu he had spent his life perfecting but his ability to empathise with others and to forge firm and everlasting bonds.
"You are so beautiful, and don't be so worried I'm not coming onto you, I already have a boyfriend actually," Aracely said as Naruto blushed, her eyebrow twitched for a moment before she spoke again, "I am your girlfriend Kaine, don't make me tell people what you say to me behind closed doors!"
"What are you showing…" Naruto grunted as images flooded through his mind.
He saw two young men setting out on a journey. In the beginning they both had similar ideals, they wanted to change the world for the better. One experienced the rejection of the people whom should have loved him the most, Charles Xavier had been left helpless by his mother at the hands of his cruel stepfather. Eric however had endured hardship since he was first born. His people had been prosecuted in Germany, but the hate eventually turned to murder, masses of his people were gathered into camps and killed. Tears fell down Naruto's eyes as he saw Eric Lensherr screaming over the death of his father, an optimistic man whom believed in the goodness of human nature. He then saw what that cruelty had turned Eric into, a man whom was willing to leave his mother to die. Charles Xavier became his only true friend and they set off to make the world a better place for mutants.
"Does it look familiar to you?" Aracely asked as Naruto watched Charles and Eric come to blows.
Their differing views of the world and how it should change eventually tore their friendship apart. Magneto threw a spike through Charles's back, giving Naruto flashbacks of when Sasuke stabbed him with a Chidori. The history of the two friends turned enemies moved on and their plans grew in scale. They recruited allies and launched their plans, one to invade and the other to protect. Eventually their conflict with one another came to a cruel close. Naruto watched in shock as Eric, no Magneto broke the neck of his greatest enemy and his only friend. Mere days later, Eric was beaten, stabbed and telepathically broken down by the surviving heroes.
"Charles…Charles will understand, Charles will forgive me," in the end Magneto cried over the things he had done and the friend he had killed.
"There's no one left to forgive you, and NO ONE EVER WILL!" Cyclops yelled.
As the X-men leader executed Magneto the vision ended. Naruto gripped his head in pain, as if he felt the agony of Magneto's last moment.
"Its all right, it hurt me too the first time it happened to me," Aracely said.
"How, how did you know about all of this?" Naruto asked.
"I'm not sure myself, my powers are extremely difficult to control, I can't manipulate people I can simply read them, that's the limit of my power you see, understanding others. But I cant even begin to describe how my own powers formed," she explained.
"She isn't a mutant, that much we've confirmed," Pietro said.
"I got my abilities at the same time Charles Xavier died, I felt his death and then the deaths of billions. Even though I tested negative for the mutant gene my family still sent me away, believing that since mutants were created by America then we were their problem," Aracely explained.
"Your parents just rejected you?" the ninja asked.
"Yeah, and she wasn't the only one," a voice said behind Naruto.
Naruto yelped slightly as a man in a hoodie slid off of a web on the ceiling. He had a hump on his back and wore a black mask with red eye lenses. His gloves were red with black fingertips and the rest of his clothes looked like they had been taken off of the streets.
"Most of the people here only came because they were kicked out by the people who were supposed to love them the most. They were moved to America to be locked away, no one who should care about them cares," the masked man explained.
"And who are you?" Naruto asked sheepishly.
He pulled off his mask, revealing a face that shocked Naruto.
"P-Peter Parker, you're alive?"
Miles Morales loved being Spider-man, but there were certain aspects of the job he just didn't like. One was super villains, although it could vary from time to time. He only really hated it when the villain had a troubling gimmick. Quills was being very spiky.
"Youch," Miles groaned as he pulled a barb out of his leg.
Quill was a genetic creation of Roxxon industries, a company owned by a rather ignorant CEO who didn't really keep track of his projects. Before Peter's death someone from Roxxon had been selling power enhancement drugs to criminals, giving them the traits of animals. Max Jordan unfortunately couldn't afford some of the better upgrades and instead had to settle for the barbs of a porcupine. That didn't mean however that he was any less effective, throwing his barbs into police officers as he ran to a getaway car.
"I'm starting to miss Kangaroo," Miles muttered before jumping at Quill again.
He dodged a flurry of barbs and then switched to stealth mode. Quill unleashed a volley of barbs, forcing Miles to dodge again.
"YOU IDIOT!" the getaway driver yelled.
Quill turned and gasped. His barbs had punctured the tires of his escape vehicle. Miles smiled underneath his mask, one thing he loved about his villains was their incompetence. He jumped behind Quill and touched the back of his neck. Both Miles and Quill got a little jolt. Miles's venom sting knocked the thief unconscious. Miles himself got a splinter in his finger.
'All right, that'll be a tough one to explain,' Miles thought.
"That's it, we're shooting our way out of here," the getaway driver snarled.
He and his two friends exited the car, brandishing assault rifles. Miles prepared to flip back as the men aimed their weapons at him. Suddenly, a section of the ground burst upwards, forming a wall that protected Miles and the police. Miles heard the men scream one by one. He jumped over the wall as the other police ran around it. What they saw was enough to shock them. A man in a black robe with gloves and a white spiral mask held one of the criminals up by his neck. He bought the man' face close to his, looking him in the eyes. The criminal screamed before falling unconscious, meeting the same fate as his allies.
"The spiral mask," one of the policemen gasped.
"Spiral Mask?" his fellow officers looked at him oddly.
"He was in France just the other day, saved Paris from an invasion of monsters," the officer explained.
Miles had read about the man too, he actually found him quite cool. Though the masked man lacked that odd fan weapon he had been using in Paris. Obito dropped the unconscious criminal. He had used his Sharingan to show them all how painful bullets could be, give them a taste of their own medicine. The masked man turned to look at the younger Spider-man, he seemed as lost as a puppy but also just as well intentioned.
"Freeze," the cops said, raising their pistols.
"Wait what?" Obito raised his eyebrows in confusion.
"Both of you get your hands in the air," an officer commanded.
"What are you idiots doing?" a detective asked, walking towards his fellow police officers.
"You heard the man answer the question," the gun-toting policeman said.
"I was talking to you, lower your weapons now," he said.
"I'm confused, didn't I just stop these guys?" Obito asked.
"You must be newer at this than me," Miles muttered.
Obito suddenly tackled Miles, jumping up onto the rooftops.
"Don't ever point your gun at them again, they've been saving lives and the last thing we want to do is get in their way," the detective said.
"Should've known you'd sympathise with criminals DeWolff, your sister was screwing one after all," one of the officers said.
Brian DeWolff grit his teeth together, but still kept his cool. His younger sisters activities had ruined his reputation, but he still had his career and a duty to the people of the city. Obito dropped Miles on the roof and extended a hand to help him up.
"Nice to meet you Spider-man, I've heard a lot of good things about you," he said.
"Likewise, Spiral Mask," Miles said.
"Spiral Mask? I'm not into the codename kind of thing just call me Tobi!"
"Tobi? It's a little odd, wouldn't you rather have a cooler name than Tobi?"
"Well why should a person be judged cool because of their name, I mean Captain America's a stupid name but people think he's cool…I wonder why sometimes," Tobi muttered.
"He is like the first Avenger, and a bit of an icon," Miles said.
"Who didn't save your hero," Obito's 'Tobi' voice suddenly took on a more serious tone.
"No he didn't, I don't even know if anyone could've saved Peter," Miles sighed.
"I've got some friends who would love to meet you Miles, they could give you some advice about carrying on with this," Obito gestured Miles's mask and costume.
"Thanks, but I've already got an arrangement tonight, thanks for the help, maybe we could team up again sometime," Miles said.
"Sure thing!" Obito smiled underneath his mask as Miles jumped away. 'Or maybe our team up will be sooner,' one ally he wanted was the new Spider-man, or her at least wanted to find out whether Peter's successor was as good as he hoped.
Hydra would still be around, long enough for Obito to meet with them and tell them about his plan.
"That sounds incredibly complicated," Naruto muttered, sitting cross-legged on the floor.
"Its not nearly as complicated a story as it could have been," Kaine muttered.
He had just spent the past hour explaining to Naruto his origins as a modified clone of Peter Parker. S.H.I.E.L.D. had robbed him of his tail but he had managed to escape in the confusion of Norman Osborn's escape. Naruto sat with Kaine, Aracely and Transonic and Avalanche, whom revealed they were actually called Laurie and Lance.
"Julian kind of takes the whole codename thing to a new level," Laurie said.
"I like the name Mystique, though I hardly think my birth name is a slave name," Mystique said.
"So you were all kicked out?" Naruto asked.
"Not me, I kind of haven't been back to my parents yet," Laurie said sheepishly.
"My parents aren't exactly in the position to care, mom's in a grave and dad is in prison," Lance huffed.
"I ran away, I'm not a mutant you see," Carlie said.
"There are a lot of people here who aren't actually mutants Naruto, there's me and Carlie, that Cho kid, Ava and Juston, Nico and her friends too, well except that little kid who wears the weird hats all the time," Aracely explained.
"Some of them are regular people who just want to live a different life," Wanda said as she approached Naruto.
The ninja stood up and narrowed his eyes slightly as Pietro glared at him. Wanda seemed to have taken a particular interest in Naruto. Mystique wasn't going to tell him, but Wanda was technically the one whom dressed him, shaping a suit made of unstable molecules around him.
"Others came from the Baxter building think tank, we've even formed a partnership with a lab in New York, Max Modell has already provided us with a clean and renewable source of energy," the witch explained.
"But this place Genosha, what is it exactly?"
"It was a hunting ground for our kind, people disgustingly broadcasted the mass extermination of mutants, after the X-men and Spider-man shut Mojo studios down, S.H.I.E.L.D. repurposed the island into a testing area for nuclear and biological weapons, leaving it a decaying husk. We however have the means to restore life to that island, unfortunately we cant trust you with the knowledge of it," Pietro explained.
"Now, now brother lets not antagonise our new leader," Wanda said.
"Wait? LEADER!" Naruto and Pietro yelled.
"Yes Naruto Uzumaki," Wanda said softly. "Of all the people in this world you are the one capable of leading our new nation into peace and protecting it if need be," she smiled.
"Um I'm flattered but I've got a village of my own to lead, plus I don't completely agree with what you're doing, its drawing away from the main problem…its given up and the one I don't do is give up," Naruto squeezed his hand into a fist. "I'll hear you out later, right now I need to get back to my friends and find out if they managed to free the others," he stated.
"They're been taken to a Weapon X facility in Alkali Lake," Sabretooth said.
Naruto immediately turned to the feral mutant.
"How do you know that?" he asked.
"We've been monitoring the MRD for some time, organising our team for a strike against their key facility," Mystique said, removing a gun from her belt.
"Listen, I'm all for smashing our way through and saving people, but there's another aspect of this fight you haven't covered…understanding, the president doesn't strike me as an unreasonable guy and from reading your history I think he of all people will appreciate how wrong and how out of hand this country's solution to mutants has become," Naruto explained.
Pietro hung his head back and laughed.
"You're a fool if you think the president has any control over what happens in his country, true he has his moments, but only because he is allowed to…the situation with mutants is one thing he is not allowed to intervene in," Pietro explained.
"What do you mean?" Naruto asked.
"That's why we called you here Naruto," Wanda said, taking Naruto's hand and guiding him down a corridor.
"Our father wasn't just fighting humanity," Pietro said, rushing past Naruto and opening the door to another room.
"He was waging a private war with the ones behind the nations," Wanda said.
Naruto looked at the twins with a confused expression on his face. Wanda guided him into a room and showed him a map. It was a global map made from a simple sheet of paper. Naruto wasn't the best with geography but he could see the clear labels, the countries of France, Germany, Russia, England, Japan, an island labelled Madripoor and a place called Wakanda in Africa, America and Canada had also been highlighted with pictures of Dr Cornelius, Sebastian Shaw and the Fenris twins crossed through with a red marker. Other blacked out photos were shown, there were thirteen in total spread out across the highlighter regions of the world.
"What is this?" Naruto asked.
"Everything we have and have found on a society that has been manipulating things from behind the scenes, they are corporations, clubs, black ops units within the very governments they have created," Wanda explained.
"You think the leaders voted into power are the ones in charge? Pure foolishness, that may be the case in other worlds, but in this one the path of history has been manipulated by men and women sharing a common goal, the grabbing of power and the increase of profits…I'll put it in terms you can understand, the Fenris twins were mutants but they resumed construction of the sentinels because there was a profit in it, likewise the registration act and the mass imprisonment of mutants has been carried out because there is a profit in it," Pietro explained.
"This is hard to believe," Naruto said.
"Why because you believe the problem is people? I don't believe people can change, but that's a whole other matter entirely, America was in the middle of an economic crisis, yet it had the money to afford concentration camps designed to imprison mutants that could shatter buildings with a touch, that was an investment by the Cabal!"
"The Cabal?"
"It's a little dramatic but its what we're calling this society, I was going to go for the masters of evil," Wanda said.
"One nation is at the centre of all the problems, America, everything is taking place here. Don't you see Naruto? By making our own nation we move outside of the plans of the Cabal, we spit in their faces, it's also a better solution than waiting for the people you protect to change," Pietro crossed his arms together and looked at Naruto, noting that the stubborn ninja still didn't look completely convinced.
"I admit this Cabal could be a problem and they need to be stopped, my friends need to be rescued too, but the problem wont be solved by simply taking everyone who agrees with you and moving them, the key is to help those who don't understand to understand," Naruto explained.
"Ignorant fool," Pietro huffed.
Naruto sighed and looked at the map.
"I'm not an idiot," he said. "I know there are people out there who just don't want to understand, who don't want to let go of their hate, but its up to us to be better, to show others that there is a better way," the young man explained.
"Do you have any idea what its like to live in fear, to have others look at you in fear?" Pietro asked.
"I have a perfect idea of it, I spent most of my life being looked down on by the villagers…but gradually I made friends and I eventually became a hero to the village and I didn't do it for the respect but because I genuinely cared about the village and I genuinely believed that there was good in every single one of them just as I believe that to be the case of this world…creating a new nation will take it all back, like less communication people is what the world needs," Naruto snarled, annoyed by the very idea of what Wanda and Pietro planned.
"You truly are so like Charles Xavier, to never give up as you do," Wanda smiled.
"Its my way of the ninja, to always have the guts to never give up," Naruto grinned, slapping his fist against his palm. "Now tell me where I need to go to save my friends!"
Kitty shook her head as she woke up. She had a very severe headache. The former X-woman noted her surroundings and widened her eyes. They were exactly as she remembered Bobby describing them, metallic walls, a prison bed and an energy field. An X had been tattooed onto her wrist and Kitty guessed it in some way subdued her powers. Her friends and fellow captives were in separate cells, they had no roommates unlike the previous Weapon X facility. She swung her head to the end of the corridor as a huge door slid open. A bald man with clear white glasses walked into the room. He had his hands behind his back, along with Kane and Deadpool. The two imposing men were not the man's only bodyguards. It was a girl wearing a black sleeveless suit with black bands on her wrists. She had black hair and nearly emotionless look.
"Good to see you awake Miss Pryde, my name is Professor Thorton, welcome to your new home the Weapon X facility," the man said.
"Idiot, bringing us back to Canada was a mistake," Kitty smirked.
The Professor matched Kitty's smirk.
"Whoever said we were in Canada, false Intel is part of our job, the Brotherhood thinks it has us all figured out, but they'll be walking into a trap. Incredible things the Sentinels, they are capable of evolving in ways you cannot imagine, we will see how your friends handle a living Sentinel. Make yourself comfortable Pryde, you're going to be here for a long time," the Professor smirked.
"Yep, and who knows you'll decide to join the club, we cant all be born into it right X-23?" Deadpool asked, touching the dark haired girl's shoulders.
A pair of claws suddenly burst out of her knuckles. She pressed the claws against Deadpool's neck, causing him to back off. Kitty looked at the pair of claws in shock, they weren't identical to Wolverines, only consisting of two blades. The Professor chuckled at her shocked expression.
"You didn't think your friend Howlett only had one child did you?"
Next Chapter 14: Family matters
Hope everyone enjoyed the chapter, and before you ask yes Mystique's criticism of calling her original name a 'slave name' was deliberate irony. Next time Sasuke discovers that Obito has also entered the Marvel Universe and seeks out his cousin just as Miles meets with his uncle, the Uchihas become caught up in a battle with the Mexican Kingpin Mac Gargan, AKA the Scorpion.
