We don't own PJO or HOO
I'm so sorry guys, my computer is really weird and computerize it, I will try to be more careful in the future!
Percy P.O.V
I was still grinning like crazy when I got back from working with Annabeth. I tried to compose myself as I walked into the pool locker room, but I knew I failed miserably when my buddy Josh nudged me in the ribs while winking.
"How'd your date with Annabeth go?" He asked causally.
"It wasn't a date" I spluttered throwing my towel at him.
"Mhm" he said swaying his hips a bit.
"What are you doing?" I laughed "and give my towel back."
"Fine." he sighed dramatically and threw the towel in my face.
"Thanks." I muttered.
Once I had changed I walked as quickly as I could without slipping on the wet tile to the pool deck where coach Hedge was waiting for me with the other swim team members.
"You're lucky you're good Jackson." He joked. "But talent or no you're two minutes late! Get in the pool and give me twenty." (laps not push-ups)
I quickly did as he asked. Partially because he was scary, but mostly because I hadn't been in the pool for about a week and I was dying to submerge myself in the chlorine-mixed liquid again. Once in the water I relaxed immediately, letting the coolness wash over me. I quickly kicked off the wall and began pushing myself through the water with strong and forceful strokes, stopping after every lap to flip around. I stopped once I heard the coaches whistle. Apparently I had done twenty already. After dragging myself out of the pool I saw some of the older student's jaws fall open and the smug expression on the coach's face.
"I told you boys he was good!" He said, looking very proud of himself.
"But not that good!" Exclaimed an older boy with brown hair. Coach just shrugged.
"Nice to have you on the team!" A tall boy with red hair said. "My name's Rodger."
"Percy." I said bashfully, embarrassed by all the attention I was getting.
"Ok boys, now that we've finished this little meet and greet lets get working!" Coach blew his whistle with gusto, signaling the beginning of the official practice.
"I hope I see Piper tomorrow" Jason said, chewing a bit of the pizza we were currently enjoying. I looked him in the eye.
"Jason, either you stop thinking about Piper that way, or you break up with Reyna. It's really not fair to her if you're continuously pining over another girl."
"I don't like Piper like that!" He said defensively, throwing his slice down onto his plate dramatically. I raised my eyebrow at him as I chewed my slice slowly, a bit like a cow.
"Try to be honest with yourself." I replied. Then he started getting angry.
"What's it to you!? Do you like Reyna or something?! I knew it! You just want me to break up with her so you can date her instead!" I just looked at him, keeping my cool.
"Are you really angry at me?" I could see his anger dying down, he shook his head, then let it fall and hang dejectedly.
"It's just that Reyna was the only stable thing in my life before I meet you guys senor year, and I'd feel terrible if I broke up with her, like I'm not thankful for everything she's done." He'd had a rough childhood, and had started dating Reyna freshman year when things were getting especially rocky at his adopted families house.
"But isn't not telling her going to make it worse for her? Especially because she would be in a one way relationship, and even though breakups are sad and hard they're better then feeling unwanted yet trapped."
"You're right." He said, "I have to break up with her, and maybe you should become a therapist, you're really pretty good at this kind of thing." I shrugged my shoulders, I hadn't yet decided what I wanted to be when I grew up.
"Going to break up with Reyna." He kept saying as he got on his coat ready to go out.
Then the door opened. "Going to break up with Reyna." he said again, then realized that Reyna was standing at the door, with a box of chocolates and a card in hand. She looked at him with a shocked and hurt expression, dropped the cards and chocolates, and ran back out the door.
Jason looked horrified at what he'd just accidentally done, then started to run after her. "Reyna wait!" He yelled frantically as he burst out the door to follow the devastated girl.
Leo walked in with a confused expression on his face and pointed over his shoulder quizzically and asked "Piper?"
I nodded "Piper."
"Hm. Anyway, how'd your date with Annabeth go?"
I let out an exasperated sigh. "Why does everyone keep asking that!? It wasn't a date!"
"Oooohh!" Leo cackled, "denial! Percy and Annabeth sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G, first comes love then comes marriage, then comes baby Jackson in a baby carriage!"
"Ha ha Leo you are just sooo hilarious" I said rolling my eyes. "And you didn't even close the door." I quipped, looking past him. He crouched by the door and picked up the chocolates.
"Do you think Jason will mind if I eat these?" He said while closing the door.
"Uh yeah probably."
"Sucks for him." Leo grinned malevolently and popped a chocolate in his mouth as he departed for the stairs that led to his room.
Annabeth P.O.V.
I collected my notes from architecture 101 and started to head out the door when I heard a wolf whistle from behind me. There was a tall, brown-eyed boy behind me.
"That's a fine ass you have" He said leaning against the wall.
I scoffed and walked out the door.
"Hey!" He said running into the courtyard after me, grabbing my wrist. "I was talking to you"
"Let. Me. Go" I growled, trying to pry his hand off.
"Now why wouldn't a pretty girl like you want to get rid of a handsome guy like me?" He said with a honey sweet tone.
"Get off me you creep."
"Creep? Isn't that a little harsh?" He pouted.
"No." I said. Then I kicked him in the balls. He feel with an oomph, letting go of my wrist and revealing a shocked Percy.
He nodded down to the creep and said approvingly "Nice."
I snorted and stepped over Creep to Percy.
"I just hope I never have to see him again."
"I second that." Percy said in a badly-done British accent.
I laughed, leaning into Percy.
"Why? Your going to break my eardrums!"
"What? I thought that was a darn good accent" he said in a southern accent shaking his head, letting droplets splatter all over my face.
"Nope" I shook my head, "Bleh why is your hair all wet?" I said wiping my face of the droplets currently flying off Percy's hair.
"Comes with being an amazing swimmer." He said, flexing his muscles.
It was that moment when I realized we were walking in the opposite direction than the parking lot that Piper's car was parked in. "Percy, where exactly are we going?" I asked.
He stopped, making me stumble a bit, and I almost fell but Percy caught me. He quickly put me back on my feet, but not before his face turned as red as a tomato.
"I was heading toward my dorm." He said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"That's okay," I laughed. "I'm just going to go head to Pipers' car." I started walking away when Percy grabbed my hand and blushed.
"I don't want you to have to go back alone, I don't trust these people." he said looking around. "I can drive you home, if you like?"
"I defended myself pretty well against that creep, what makes you think I can't deal with other people? I'm hardly defenseless you know." I huffed hotly, putting my hands on my hips.
Percy grinned. "I don't doubt your powers of defense in the slightest, honestly I'd just like to be with my Wise Girl a little longer." He put an arm around my shoulders and I leaned closer to him until I could smell the scent of chlorine (and . . . Cookies?) with perfect clarity.
"Wise Girl?" I asked, blushing.
"Yeah, cause you're super smart and stuff."
I laughed into his shirt "Seaweed Brain."
"Now I have a nickname! What, pray tell, does it mean?" He said, trying to resurrect his British accent again.
"No British accent" I reminded him, stifling a laugh. "And it's because your head is full of seaweed swimmer boy." I stood on my tiptoes, so we were eye to eye and poked him in the forehead.
Without warning he broke away and started sprinting toward the parking lot, shrugging the duffle bag he was caring over his shoulder. "Race ya to the car!" He shouted.
"Hey! No fair!" I whined at him "I don't even know what you car looks like!" I started running after him.
"It's that one there" He shouted over his shoulder, pointing to a baby blue car (A/N I don't know anything about cars so you won't be getting a description)
I realized that he was too athletic, and to far ahead of me, for there to be any chance of winning from brute speed, so the only option left was tact.
"Ow, ow ow!" I whined and fell on the ground clutching my ankle. I saw Percy look back, and as he saw me a wave of concern passed over his face. He ran back to me.
"Are you okay?" he said gazing into my eyes. I quickly got up, pecked him on the cheek and said, "I am now" I rushed over to the blue car Percy had claimed as his earlier.
"Hey!" Percy whined as he caught up to me at his car "That's cheating, I thought you were hurt." He pulled a puppy dog pout that was to cute for my own good.
"Aw poor baby," I cooed. "Do you want a kiss?" He nodded. "Well too bad." His mouth dropped open.
"Now that's just cruel, leading a poor boy like me on, I think a deserve a kiss" He tisked his finger at me.
"Well I won the race so I should get the kiss." I reasoned. Percy shrugged his shoulders and leaned forward to peck my cheek, grinning widely.
"You missed." I said winking, before walking quickly to the passenger door, but not quick enough to miss the look of astonishment on Percy's face. I hopped into the passenger side and my phone (a birthday present from Piper and her father) dinged. I glanced at the screen, it was from Piper.
Piper: Where r u?
Annabeth: Oh Percy is driving me home
Piper: I c ;)
Annabeth: ur horrible
Piper: tnxs :p
I looked up at Percy, who had climbed into the drivers seat. "Who was that?" He asked.
"Oh just Piper, I told her you were driving me home"
"OK, where do you live?" He asked reeving his engine. At once a soundtrack started playing.
"This is my favorite song!" He exclaimed, turning the volume higher, not listening for my answer.
"The seaweed is always greener in somebody elses lake!" He started singing, I stifled a laugh and he stuck his tongue out at me and started singing louder.
"You dream about going up there, but that is a big mistake, just look at the world around you, right here on the ocean floor!" He belted, "Such wonderful things surround you, what more are you looking for?" He started shaking his head and wiggling around in his seat.
"Percy!" I yelped as the car went over a particularly big bump, "Eyes on the road!"
"Under the sea, under the sea," He kept singing. "Down where it's wetter take it from me, up on the shore they work all day, out in the sun they slave away. While we devotin' full time to floatin' under the seeeeeeea! down here all the fish is happy as off through the waves they roll. The fish on the land ain't happy, they sad cause they in their bowl. but fish in the bowl ain't lucky, they in for a worser fate! One day when the boss get hungry, guess who's gon' be on the plate?! Under the sea, under the sea. Nobody beat us, fry us and eat us in fricassee! We what the land folks loves to cook, under the sea we off the hook! We got no troubles, life is the bubbles under the sea! Since life is sweet here we got the beat here naturally even the sturgeon an' the ray they get the urge 'n' start to play. we got the spirt you got to hear it under the sea Under the sea! Each little snail here Know how to wail here That's why it's hotter Under the water Ya we in luck here Down in the muck here Under the sea!" Percy took a deep breath.
The sound track to part of your world turned on and I quickly shut the radio off.
"Hey!" Percy whined " I like that song."
"What are you, twelve?" I laughed.
"I am thank you." he huffed.
"I live on East 59th street, just so you actually know where you're going," I said.
"I knew where I was going." he said making a sharp left turn that made me slide in my seat.
Once we got to my apartment Percy hurried out of the car and open my door.
"Thank you kind gentleman." I said in a British accent.
"What?!" Percy whined, "Why are you allowed to do a British accent and I can't?!"
"Talent my dear Percy, talent" I said in a haughty voice.
"Let me walk you up to your apartment" He said, extending his hand.
I was about to accept and grab his hand, but then I realized Charlie was in the apartment. I retracted my hand like I had touched a hot stove. A wave of panic flashing over my face.
"No, that's fine." I plastered on a fake smile.
"I insist." He said, bowing. Ugh why does he have to be so dam amazing!
"No." I said a little more coldly than I had intended to. I saw his face fall and immediately felt terrible. Without even thinking I leaned into him and kissed him on the lips and then pulled away and hurried into my building, leaving behind a shocked Percy.
