Chapter 11
I heard a fight occurring upstairs as I was drinking. I walked back to where Elijah was. I was about to speak when I spotted the St. Vlad's people in the room. I shook my head and rolled my eyes. "What are they still doing here?" I asked Elijah.
"We are not leaving until you tell us what you are doing here," Janine said, trying to act like a mother.
"I'm not saying anything. You just wouldn't understand." I turned to Elijah just as Damon stomped into the room. "Sounds like you won't be needing the elixir anymore."
"Feeding her vampire blood rendered it useless," Elijah finished.
"Vampire blood?" Mia asked. "What's that got to do with anything?"
"Nothing," I said smirking. "And everything."
"Tell Elena I'll be back before nightfall," Elijah said. "We'll proceed as planned." He picked up the box that had the elixir in it and started to walk away.
"We both know that elixir wouldn't have worked anyway," Damon said.
Elijah turned around to face Damon's back. "Your problem Damon," he said walking forward, "you talk a good game, but you don't actually know anything." He stopped walking right behind Damon.
"She'll never forgive you," I said. The St Vlad's gang stared at me as if to say 'What are you talking about?" Damon turned around. "And never for a vampire," I paused for effect, "it's a very long time." I then proceeded to follow Elijah out of the boarding house.
The St Vlad's 'cling ons', as I decided to call them, followed us. I rolled my eyes and turned to Elijah. "Can't you do anything to get rid of them?" I asked.
"No," Elijah replied. At my glare he sighed. "They said they would do anything to help."
I looked at him incredulously. "You can't be serious." Elijah didn't look at me. "Eli, this is Nik we're talking about. He could kill them in a heartbeat." Elijah still didn't say anything. I continued to stare at him, hoping that he would say he was joking. When he said nothing and simply continued walking, I stopped. "I'm going to get a drink," I said. "Don't expect me at the house until later.

As I was walking into the Grill someone grabbed my arm and dragged me up to the bar. I turned to protest until I saw it was Nik who was dragging me. I simply let him and didn't say anything. He pulled me towards where Damon and Alaric were sitting.
"Gentlemen," he greeted them. "Why so glum?"
Damon and Alaric looked at Nik. Damon, upon seeing me, groaned. "Klaus, I presume," he said.
"In the flesh." He looked at Alaric. Thanks for the loner, mate."
Damon stood up and got into Klaus's face. Any reason you stopped by to say hi?"
"I'm told you and your brother fancy my doppelganger. Just thought I'd remind you not to try anything you'll regret."
Damon laughed. "Thanks for the advice," he said before pausing. "I don't suppose I could talk you into a postponement by any chance, huh?"
Nik chuckled. "You are kidding." He looked at Alaric. "He is kidding right?"
"No," Alaric said. "Not really."
Nik turned to me with an eyebrow raised. I simply shook my head not wanting to fuel his already growing anger.
"I mean, what's one month in the grand scheme of things?" Damon asked arrogantly.
"Let me be clear," Nik said before looking directly at Damon. "I have my vampire, I have my werewolf. I have everything I need. The ritual will happen tonight. So if you want to live to see tomorrow, don't screw it up."
