Chapter 12

Lissa POV

"Come on," Klaus, according to the conversation I just heard, said.

"I think I'm going to stay here," Rose said defiantly.

"No," Klaus said firmly. "You are going to come with me." He glared at Rose while she stood there like she didn't care.

"That glare won't work on me."

"Don't forget what I have in my pocket," he threatened pulling something out of his pocket slightly. It looked like a fancy dagger to me.

"You wouldn't try anything with lots of people around," Rose said with a shaky voice.

Klaus simply smirked and grabbed her arm before dragging her out of the bar.

"Come on," Alberta said. "Let's follow them."

When we reached them outside, Rose had pulled them to a stop. "What if I don't want to go?" she asked.

"Wouldn't want to have your little buddies watch her die."

"What are you-?" Rose started to ask before getting spun to face us. I had to agree with Rose. What was he talking about?

Klaus pulled her close to him. "You were saying?"

"They don't know anything," Rose said. What is she talking about, I thought. Klaus did something to make her flinch. "They don't know anything," she insisted.

I was fearful for what he might do to her so I stepped forward. "I don't know who you are, but let her go," I said.

Rose shook her head. "I wouldn't try reasoning with him," she said. "It won't work."

Klaus whispered something to Rose causing her to jerk her head up and stare wide eyed at Dimitri. Why would Rose be staring at him like that? Klaus whispered something else to Rose before doing something to make her gasp in pain. "Let's see if it really is him," Klaus spoke normally. What is going on?

Rose gasped again, this time in fright. "No," she said.

"Too late," Klaus said while moving his arm towards Rose's back.

Rose looked at Dimitri with tears in her eyes before starting to turn grey. I frowned. What the hell is going on?

Dimitri froze watching Rose fall and Klaus catching her. She looked worse now. Veins were popping out, like her skin had shrunk and they were straining against it.

Klaus stared at Dimitri with a mocking sad look on his face. "I guess I was wrong," he said before picking Rose up and disappearing before our eyes.

I want some answers, I thought. And I want them now.
