I don't own Vampire Academy or Vampire Diaries
Chapter 19
LATER
"So why don't we move this evening along and discuss the terms of this proposal," Elijah said after the plates had been taken away.
"It's very simple," Damon said. "Klaus gets his coffin back. In exchange he and the original extended family leave Mystic Falls forever. Me, Stefan and Elena live happily ever after. No grudges."
Klaus turned to look at us. "We simply want Rose back," Guardian Alto said.
"The deals sound fair, brother," Elijah said to Klaus.
"Your request is simple enough," Klaus said to us. "I just need to deal with these two before I can give her back to you." He turned his attention back to Damon and Stefan. "I don't think you understand. Elena's Doppelganger blood ensures that I will always have more hybrids to fight those who oppose me." He leant forward on the table. "I will never leave her behind." He paused, picking up his glass. "Say I do leave her here," he said standing up, "under your protection. What then? How long before one of you turns her into a vampire? Or worse, how long before she dies, caught between your feuding? You see each one of you truly believes you're the one that can protect her. And that is simply a delusion. Gentlemen," he paused, "the worst thing for Elena Gilbert is the two of you."
There was a long pause before anyone said anything. "I'm gonna get some air," Damon said before leaving the room.
"Let me deal with this," Elijah said before following Damon out.
"Mm," Klaus hummed. "All this talk has made me thirsty." He looked at one of the servers and she started walking over to him. "What do you say Stefan? Can I interest you in a little after-dinner drink?" When Stefan didn't answer he drank from the girl until she was dead. He hummed commenting that she tasted delicious before dropping her. "Aged to perfection."
How can someone be so cruel? I thought to myself, disgusted by what he had done. He may be really old but I would have thought it have taught him some restraint.
"Well," Stefan said slowly standing up, "I guess the only reason you agreed to this evening, Klaus, is to drive a wedge between me and my brother.
"Oh no," Klaus said. "You're doing that on your own. Because of Elena you're gonna lose your brother and have yourself to blame."
Damon and Elijah walked back in at this point.
"What do you say Klaus?" Damon asked standing next to Stefan. "Time for you to put something on the table. We've made our offer. Now you counter."
Klaus walked back to his seat. "Okay," he said sitting down and clearing his throat. "I offer Elena's future happiness. You see, what she needs right now is to be rid of you lot and fall in love with a human." He looked at Elijah. "Maybe that nice football player. The blond one."
"Matt Donovan?" Damon asked incredulously. "Really?"
Klaus turned back to Damon. "Yeah, why not. They'll marry, live a long life, and pop out a perfect family."
"And continue the Petrova bloodline," Stefan said. Every few hundred years, you'll have a new doppelganger to drain and never run out of hybrids, right, Klaus?"
"Consider it a small return on my investment in her well-being. See, after you hand me back the coffin, I'll ensure her safety for the rest of her natural life. You know it's what's best for her. "So what do you say Stefan?" he stood up and walked in front of the roaring fire place. "Huh? Do we have a deal?"
Stefan walked towards Klaus. "What are you doing?" Damon asked as he passed him.
He stopped in front of Klaus and grabbed his outstretched hand. "Nice try, Klaus," he said. "But no deal."
Mia and I screamed as Klaus broke Stefan's arm and leg, bend him down and put his hand in the fire. Damon tried to get to Stefan but Elijah stopped him and pushed him into a wall at 'vampire' speed.
"Stop!" Damon yelled at Klaus.
"Now bring me my coffin before I burn him alive."
"I'll get it," Damon said before leaving and barging Elijah's shoulder with his.
"Go with his, brother. You keep him honest. When you return, I will make good on my promise to you and I will hand over our family."
With that said Elijah walked out in the general direction of where Damon went.
