Ch.9

Ch.9 has arrived! Sorry for the update people… you could say I was busy with testing and stuff. XP Nah, I'm just kidding with you; I've been kinda lazy… well actually really lazy and just been watching anime and reading manga.

But testing really is coming up soon for me so I wasn't really lying. :) And once again, I don't own Hunter x Hunter except for my OC and the plot of this story.

Gon nudge Kurapika to wake up, "Kurapika! Wake up."

"Uh, what is it… Gon?" Kurapika slowly sat up and rubbed his eyes as Gon and Killua back away.

"Bad news Kurapika; Mizuken, Leorio and Sapphire are gone." Killua replied.

"What!" Kurapika stood up instantly and fell onto his knees, "Calm down, Kurapika… I just told Mizuken and Leorio to take Sapphire to the next town." Seiji who was already awake stood up.

"I see…" Kurapika relaxed and smiled knowing that it was just a false alarm.

"Then we should get going too since it's already morning." Kurapika replied.

"Yes, we should…" Seiji looked at his injured right hand while Kurapika was the first to head out.

"Hey, would it be alright if I call you just Seiji?" Gon and Killua whispered as they walked next to him.

Seiji gave a puzzled look, "Well, you already did; … is there something you want to ask?"

They look at each other and then Killua spoke up, "Yeah, about what you just said earlier… that was a lie huh?"

Seiji closed his eyes and chuckled when they were out in the woods, "Heh, I'm pretty sure that Kurapika has figured it out too… I guess I really suck at lying. Gon; Killua; the truth is that Sapphire ran away with the map I made to lead us to our destination and so I asked Mizuken and Leorio to go after her."

"She was quiet last night… is she going to talk to Giovanni?" Gon wondered.

"Maybe…well no need to worry and besides, the map she has, takes her to another entrance that is in fact far from here." Seiji smiled at Gon and Killua.

"Are you saying that there are multiple entrances and there happens to be one just near by here?" Killua replied.

"Yes." Seiji responded.

"The map from earlier was a test to see what Sapphire was going to do then." Kurapika retort.

"Oh, so you overheard our conversation Kurapika?" Killua replied.

Kurapika sigh and shook his head, "Well, it was obvious because you three were talking loud enough for me to hear too."

Gon decided to join the conversation between Killua and Kurapika, "Haha, it's alright if you actually like to listen to other people's conversation Kurapika."

Kurapika took a deep breath, "…Didn't you hear what I said-" he was interrupted by Seiji who told everyone to be quiet as they got closer to the cabin.

"What are we doing here Seiji?" Kurapika whispered.

"I just came back to get something from the cabin; it'll be quick so wait here for me quietly." Seiji muttered to them. So they sat still behind the trees and bushes as Seiji ran back into the ruined cabin to get something. They listened to birds chirping and some cicadas buzzing until Gon spoke, "I wonder what he needs to get right Killua; Kurapika?"

"Who knows Gon." Killua respond to his question.

They suddenly heard Seiji sprint quickly back to them, "Ok, let's get going." Seiji was breathless as he rushed them to follow him further away from the cabin.

Curious, Killua asked, "What's happen Seiji?"

Seiji did not turn to look but explained everything to them as they head for the entrance of the underground lab, "I just remember something about Giovanni's ability. He can only steal up to three nen from others and I know he has mine and Kurapika's already."

"What does that have to do with you being so worried?" Kurapika replied.

"Because I'm positive that Genesis is going to ask Giovanni to take Kuroro's nen that's why."

"Then isn't that somehow good?" Killua joined in.

"Good for them but not for us… because there is a 99% chance that they are going to kill Kuroro and then by using Genesis's nen, they can revive him back." Seiji retort.

As Gon listened to their conversation, he spoke, "There is no need to be so worried everyone." They all halt when they heard Gon's reply, until Kurapika comprehend what Gon meant, "I see what you mean Gon… even if they take Kuroro's nen, he can still fight and besides he is the Phantom Troupe's boss." Kurapika made a displease look with what he just said.

Seiji continued to walk further until they reached the rocks below the train tracks; waving his hand forward, "I see… but we should still get there immediately. Come, one of the many entrances is right here, and remember this, the underground lab actually has only two entrances, and the others are just traps doors." They got to the right side of a massive reddish rock and pushed it to reveal a medium size gap that was under the rock earlier. They waited for Seiji next action until he pushed Kurapika inside the opening, "Kurapika! What was that for Seiji?" Gon replied.

"Jump in Gon; Killua." Seiji pushed them in next and went in afterwards. "Whoa!" they fell into the darkness until they saw a dim light. They all land perfectly onto a pale stone floor and look to see that they were in a tunnel with numerous light bulbs; Seiji look to his right then to his left.

"We'll have to separate from here on to find Kuroro." Seiji commented.

"Alright, let's go to the left Killua." Gon replied.

"Hold on a second Gon, Killua will come with me and you will go with Kurapika."

"…I understand, let's get going then." Killua waved farewell and ran after Seiji into the left corridor, leaving them alone.

"We should get going too Gon." Kurapika replied.

Gon gave a big grin, "Alright, let's go then Kurapika."

In the left corridor where Killua and Seiji were looking through every room, trying to find something; Killua decided to speak, "Seiji, you asked me to come with you because of some kind of business you want to do… and when I mean by business, I mean killing."

Seiji came to a halt in front of a black, old fashion door and turned to look at Killua, "We need to kill Pairo and Kiaria… and we must get to them before Kurapika runs into them."

Killua sigh and scratch his head, "Well, sorry Seiji because I'm not in the mood to kill anyone, especially since Pairo is Kurapika's friend. And what I want right now is to just spend some time with Gon."

"And you'll get that once all this chaos is over with Killua. So-"

Killua cut Seiji short and mutter, "Candy…"

"Candy? Are you saying that you want candy as payment?" Seiji barely heard what Killua said and lean his head one side, puzzled.

"Sure, I'll have some candy and money as well." Killua smiled.

Seiji express amusement and pat Killua on the head, "Ok, once this is over with then." Killua smiled with Seiji for awhile until the door in front of them slowly opened to reveal a dim lit, vast, dark indigo room where a boy stood, waiting for them. "Kurapika? No you're not Kurapika…" the boy standing there was Pairo; he sighed for one second and spoke again, "Well, I already know what you want from me. Go ahead kill me, Genesis haven't given me any order recently besides staying here."

Seiji and Killua were baffled with what Pairo said, "How can we trust you're words? And there is a possibility that you were told to say that?" Killua remarked.

"That's true, but if I was lying then I would have just attacked you two already." Pairo respond. Killua was tap on the shoulder by Seiji, "Its ok for now. Genesis isn't controlling him at this moment." Killua nodded and raised his right hand, ready to pierce Pairo straight in the heart, "Wait… there is one more thing I need to tell Kurapika… can you tell him this?"

"What is it?" Seiji replied.

Pairo was delighted that they would send his message to Kurapika, "Tell Kurapika to be cautious even after defeating Giovanni. He is not the real enemy."

"Of course Kurapika knows that already, Genesis is the one." Seiji replied.

Pairo only shook his head, "…You still don't understand what I meant but thank you; and one more thing, Genesis's nen ability is not what you think at all. Sure he can revive people from the dead, but they won't have any organs working and another thing is if the person he thought was dead was actually alive; he can still make them… but a younger version of them and the ways he does that is a little different."

"…" Killua swiftly dashed towards Pairo and stabbed him in the head; red lukewarm blood splatter onto the ground and onto Killua's face.

"Watch over Kurapika carefully…" were Pairo's last words.

Seiji stroll towards Killua and gave him a handkerchief, "Sorry for making you do this Killua."

Killua turn to face Seiji while wiping his face, "… It's alright… Besides, your right hand still hurts from yesterday so you can't really do much. But what Pairo said bothers me very much…"

"I know what you mean…" Seiji replied.

Suddenly, Pairo's body begins to twitch and became a deformed body. Killua and Seiji were astonished and jumped a few steps back. (What?! This can't be Pairo! Pairo should have turned back into a bunch of wood.) Killua thought. His eyes widen as Pairo's words from earlier echoes in his head, '…if the person he thought was dead was actually alive; he can still make them… but a younger version of them and the ways he does that is a little different.'

"If this isn't Pairo… then does this mean that Pairo isn't actually dead at all?" Killua whispered to himself as he slowly looks at Seiji then at the unknown figure. "…"

Kurapika and Gon entered a gray room with one light bulb working and the other one busted, "It's very glooming in this room." Gon took a long look around.

Kurapika was looking through the next corridor until he unexpectedly heard fighting not far from them, "Gon, this way." Kurapika retort and swiftly rush over to the site of the fighting.

What Kurapika saw when he enters another room was Giovanni and Kuroro fighting each other; Giovanni left arm was dangling and his forehead had a scratch made from Kuroro's knife. While Kuroro was perfectly fine with no injuries, "I thought you were better than this Giovanni?"

"-Tsk- You just caught me by surprise Kuroro."

"The poison should be taking affect by now, but it appears to me that you're body has adapted-" Kuroro was interrupted by Kurapika's shout. "Kuroro! Giovanni!" Kurapika came closer and was about to jump into the fight until Gon grabbed his wrist, "Kurapika wait!"

"Gon…"

"So Kurapika is here now." Giovanni noted.

Kuroro looked at Kurapika and Gon; smiling he raised an eyebrow, "Are you here for me or him?"

Kurapika was about to respond until he heard a voice behind him, "Obviously you boss." Slowly turning, Kurapika saw Feitan, Kalluto, Shalnark, and Nobunaga coming into the room. Giovanni gave a sneer and became tense, "Damn you Kurapika, they followed you two here."
