We are soooo sorry that this was late, this was a very hard chapter to write. We hope you enjoy!

*early May a few weeks before finals*
I sighed, leaning back on the desk chair. I don't know how we went through the whole school year without our computer. It didn't have anything from college on it, but it was Percy's and my's shared computer from high school.
I'd expected a few missed messages, as it held SeeMeNow, which is basically skype but a lot less popular, but sadly one of the only things the school would let us download because you needed a valid student ID and a teacher's. What I didn't expect to see was 2,589 missed calls from Percy's account. I guess when we had packed up the computer he hadn't logged out of his account. I knew that I shouldn't look to see who they were from, but it was killing me.
Almost all of them, save for about twenty, were from the same screen name. Which I recognized as Percy's online girlfriend. Well, ex now, since he is so obviously head over heels with Annabeth. I'd have to ask Percy how she took the break up, as she seemed like the type of girl to be really cool with it or go bat shit crazy.
I can always ask him later, it wasn't that important that I would call him when he was studying with Annabeth.

While I was doing my home work on the computer, my SeeMeNow app pinged.
Blackjack is online
I blinked my eyes, that couldn't be right. I clicked on the pop up as fast as I could. Sure enough there was a little blue star by his username.
I started typing furiously. I thought he was dead! Not responding to my calls or masses of messages. Damn him for not having a phone yet.
Where the hell have you been!

I knew I shouldn't respond, I really did. But I was so desperate to know what happened. So I typed back.
Collage, sorry
I thought you were dead you idiot! You can't just leave without telling me something like that! Which one did you accept anyway?
I knew that I shouldn't give away Percy's information online, especially to his ex. But I was a bit bored lately and could use the drama.
Rachel and I talked for a while, skirting the fact that Percy, who she thinks is me, is her ex. She asked if she could come over that week. That's where I finally had to draw the line. I couldn't have her come over. Surprisingly, she seemed to take it well and even added a winky face to the end of her message.
I glanced at the stack of papers next to me. It was time to stop procrastinating and study for finals.

I smiled and leaned back on the couch in the back of the library. It was the perfect spot to study, no one ever went here, or at least that's what Annabeth said. Gods knows how she found it. You had to go through a maze of bookshelves filled with masses of dusty old nonfiction novels. Annabeth just looked exasperated. She shook her head and covered her face with her hand. I knew that she just did that to suppress and hide her smile.
"Percy, you know you can't write your final paper on the historical significance of cookies." She crossed that off my idea list. "Why needs to get married?! Percy!" She tried to give me a stern look, but just ended up laughing.
"See!" I said, "It's true." I nodded, proud of making Annabeth laugh and that she thought my idea was valid. I loved the way her nose crinkled up and how she would put one hand on the bridge of her nose when she laughed.
She caught me looking at her, but then I couldn't look away 'cause I was caught in her gorgeous grey eyes.
She leaned closer to me . . . And booped my nose.
"You, Mister, need to concentrate." She wiggled her finger at me.
"I am." I raised my eyebrows and maintained eye contact.
She sighed, "On your work."
"Ok." I sighed and looked over my list for actual ideas. "How about this one?" I pointed to one of the two options on my list that I hadn't put down as a joke.
"Human nature is to provide for others?" She looked confused, a look you rarely see on Annabeth.
"Well . . . Everyone always debates what human nature is right? And she said to pick a controversial topic." Annabeth wasn't looking at me, but I could tell her brain was working a mile a minute. She was probably thinking about Charlie, and what she had done for him. Suddenly I got embarrassed. "I dunno . . . It's dumb -"
"-no! No. It's uh- wow. It's amazing. Definitely that one." She smiled up at me and grabbed my hand and squeezed it. My heart lept to my throat.
She was holding my hand. Oh, her hand was so soft and I just wanted to run little circles over the top of it with my thumb and tell her everything was going to be ok. I squeezed it back, but I didn't let go, I didn't want to. If she pulled away I would let her. But we just sat like that for a minute, both of us looking at our hands. I hope she didn't notice that I was red as a tomato.
We stayed that way for the rest of the evening until she had to go home. Gods, I wanted to marry this girl. I blushed as the thought ran through my head. Where did that come from? We weren't even dating.
But we could be: I thought back to when we held hands, she has to like me to. The worst that can happen is she says no. Deep down I knew that that would be worse than going through hell alone. Let's just hope she says yes.
*The next day*
I knew I shouldn't have picked such a public place, in case she rejected me, but I loved the park on campus especially since it was spring and everything was blooming.
"Percy, we have a paper due soon, we don't have time to relax." Annabeth begrudgingly plopped down on the blanket. "I wouldn't have come if you didn't say that we were going to work." She pouted at me.
"That's exactly why I said we were gonna work, I'm smart too you know." I pulled her onto my lap and wrapped my arms around her tummy. Last year there was a baby in this, I couldn't help thinking.
"Fine, I'll relax with you but only for a little." She put her head on my shoulder and closed her eyes. After a while she had sunk down so her head was resting in my lap, fast asleep.
I let her stay like that for a while. She needed to relax- she tried to hide it, but she worked herself to the bone. I brushed a couple stray hairs from her face, tracing her jawline with my finger.
"Percy," she whined, "How long did you let me sleep?" She sat up and moved so she was facing me. I checked my watch.
"Half an hour." I looked back up at her, even though it had been a short time, she looked so much more rested. How little sleep was she getting?
"Ugh, Percy." She flopped back onto the blanket. "Well I guess it could be worse." She wrapped her fingers around a small white flower and picked it.
"Hey Annabeth," I pulled her up by her hands so she was sitting up and facing me, "I was wondering if you would, uh." Gods, I was getting choked up. "Would-"
I never got to finish the sentiment anyways. At that moment a blur of red ran toward us and tackled me, yelling "Percy!"
I couldn't see who was on me, but the voice sounded familiar. All I could see was Annabeth, shock on her face quickly turning to hurt.
Then it clicked, Rachel. "What are you doing here? We haven't talked in months." I managed to pry her off so I could see her properly.
"What do you mean?" She looked at me like I had just said I could control water. "We talked last night."
"I was with Annabeth . . . How . . . how did you even find me?" I didn't think she would ever talk to me again after we broke up. I mean it wasn't a bad break up . . . At least - I think. I don't exactly remember it . . .
"Well, you finally told me what collage you went to last night and I took my jet here as soon as I could. I mean I though my boyfriend was dead for gods sakes." She shook her head and laughed. Boyfriend?
"Boyfriend?" I scooted away from her, towards Annabeth who just had a shocked look on her face.
"Yeah? We've been dating for over a year and a half now silly." She laughed, but her eyes looked a little panicked.
"Rachel, we broke up at the end of last school year." I reached for Annabeth's hand, but she had wrapped her arms around her knees.
"W-we never broke up Perce." Rachel, looked at me, confused and hurt.
"Yes we did." I said firmly. I tried to recall exactly what had happened when we broke up. Actually I just tried to remember breaking up with her.
"Oh my gods." I whisper, panicking to myself. I hadn't broken up with her.
"Percy, are you breaking up with me‽" Rachel looked so hurt, I felt miserable.
Annabeth stood up and sprinted away toward the library. I watched her go, distraught. It took all of my willpower not to run after her, but I knew that I had to deal with Rachel.
"That's your new girlfriend isn't it?" Rachel snapped angrily.
"I was going to ask her right before you butted in." I mumbled, trying to be mad at Rachel, but I was just mad at myself.
"Well I'm glad you didn't get to ask her." She snapped angrily standing up and walking away. She turned around. "And by the way, I'm breaking up with you, just to be clear."
I knew I should've gone after her and made things right, but I couldn't bear the thought of Annabeth thinking that I had been leading her on.
I walked to the back of the library, navigating through the books. I just hoped that she hadn't slipped out and gone home before I had a chance to explain myself.
Luckily, she was still in our study spot. She was curled up on the couch presumably texting Piper to take her home.
"Annabeth?" I said so I wouldn't suprise her or seem creepy.
"I don't want to talk to you Percy, please leave me alone." I was suprised, her tone didn't seem angry . . . it was just hurt. Which wasn't good either mind you, it just wasn't what I was expecting.
"Annabeth, just let me explain please, I didn't know!" I said in a hushed whisper so the librarian wouldn't get mad at us.
"How does that make it any better Percy?" She stood up and crossed her arms over her chest.
"I didn't know I had a girlfriend when I was flirting with you and stuff." I looked down, scared where this was going.
"That's what makes it horrible!" She snapped, and ran her hands through her hair. "That you didn't care enough to even remember, or check in on your girlfriend. You just forgot she existed?! You can't just forget about people, pretend they don't exist, because it hurts."
I flinched at the look in her eyes. It was raw and half-crazed and so incredibly painful to see. She was clearly speaking from experience.
Before I could explain or think more about whatever had happened to her she stormed out of the library. "Annabeth, please! Come back!" I said, not bothering to whisper, "I can explain about that too-" But she was out of hearing range, almost out the door. I knew I wasn't allowed to run in the library, so I speed walked until I was outside.
I ran out just in time to see Annabeth jump into Piper's car and speed away.
